Cal Look was huge on Oahu in the early 80's. Owned a '64 Porsche India Red Bug with a 2074 and a 5spd. Hurt the feelings of a few Mustang and Camaro owners when I transferred to the mainland. Seeing this has given me the bug again!
That was my first Pomona swap meet since Covid and it was so good.

I might buy a 1976 bug.needs alot .but pretty solid im not sure what way to go with it.rat rod it .or lower it with some custom touchs or what .i like all except original.. what yall think ???
60 VW was my first car. 36hp and 1200cc would pass Jeeps in foot deep mud. I only had bias ply snow tires and beat the jeeps with their 4WD and huge mud tires! 🤣
60 was the last year model that came with 36hp! Very true we don't need a 4wd if you drive a rear engine VWs!😁
@@hotvwsmagazine My father bought the 1960 Bug and picked it up at the factory in Germany 🇩🇪. I have the actual license plate from it hanging on my wall. Unfortunately that is all I have left of that awesome car.
I've always been into V - dub's and especially when kit car's were popular.
My personal favorite was the Brubaker Boxx and I seem to remember that plan's were available to build one from plywood. I'm interested in finding a set of them now. Any idea where I can get them?
