Harlan, I love your commentary. You guys do "make it look so easy". Your videos are quite instructive - pointing out the crux and alternate routes. Keep it up!
Well done and thanks for sharing. This was a ‘bucket list’ scramble that I had always deferred in lieu of other, more popular scrambles. It looks far more interesting and scenic than I had heard and read.
wowzers!!! this hike is intense. Definitely out of my comfort zone but, I really appreciate you filming it so I can see how awesome this mountain is. Thanks Harlan. I have been enjoying all your adventures.
...Well it would have been out of my comfort zone several years ago. You hamster to develop a tolerance to certain exposure I guess. Thanks for watching !
Another great scramble. Definitely adding this one to the list. Love your vids. Keeps me motivated to get out there and try all these hikes. Thanks Harlon
Holy **** dude you bagged a seriously gorgeous peak. I hope to have the guts and gear one day. 26 years young and still got time to climb! Congrats!!!!
@@Nikola-rr1pw ... Parking won't be an issue. Time of year depends on the snow cornice being melted off the overhanging rock shortly before the summit. Usually end of June but changes year to year.
I had heard this was just a grunt with crap views. I found the ascent reasonable with spectacular views the day I was there. Some of the best views I’ve had this year. And wow - the snow is gone! It was so hard when I was on it that I figured it was going to last the season. Nice job on the video.
...Thanks Alan! Ya the views were superb for sure.... No snow sure is nice.. There are definitely ways to mitigate lots of the scree by picking your line up the slab...
Beautiful video ,lots of details like always....you are right about the snow and ice after the down climb my friend tried on middle of June and he had to come back it was too risky....
@@MrPuroylan ...Well I didnt find it too bad but caution is definitely required...There was another downclimb into the RH gulley system that could be considered tougher, however there are other routes down.
I’d be curious if my register entry from September 12/1995 would still be in there ? That was a wonderful solo trip. My ascent route stayed climbers left all the way up. I used that gully/wall for the descent. I was using Alan Kane’s first edition scrambles book. Your route up looks a little different than what I remember mine being.
... My guess is that the register from back then has hopefully been claimed and filed with Kananaskis parks (ACC maybe but not sure). I followed close to Bob Spirkos route. There was a guy that was going up as I came down and he was ascending climbers left of where I went on lots of slab.
@@HarlanFox--Scrambles 1995 was a long time ago. Pretty sure a few registers have been filled up since my days out there. My entry that September day in 95 was the first in almost a month and a half since the previous one. Gone are the days of going out there and not seeing a soul all day long. Maybe with the exception of Mt Ball. That was another solo that went really well.
Harlan your videos are amazing. Thanks for sharing this content and showing what the critical phases of the hikes are with such detail. I would love to see a video of Mt Temple if you happen to do it this year.
Wow over 1000m elevation gain in 3.3 km that’s insane!! It looks steep on camera but I can’t imagine what it was like being there. I’ve done Rundle, Mist, and Lawrence grassi but this looks much harder with more exposure. Scary.
Harlan Fox Seems like you’ve done every peak in kananaskis and Canmore haha you’re amazing man thanks a lot for sharing these videos. May I ask what GoPro you are using? I was thinking of getting one myself but the 7 and 8 seem a little overkill for hiking.
@@sobantahir1011 ... Thanks a lot Soban! I still have many to go. I'm just enjoying every mountain as best as I can. I believe my GO PRO is the 6. It has the Image Stabilization which I find makes the video much easier to watch back later.
@@HarlanFox--Scrambles You should look into The Tit next, we just finished that yesterday and it was a fun scramble the entire way to the top once you got to the ridge. It's just a struggle finding the trail (we bushed it till we found one)

awesome video, thanks Harlan

Another nice video! That's a great view from the summit! I remember looking up at from the spray lakes campsite!
Thanks!.... Ya it has an amazing view for sure. One of the best summit views in awhile..
Awesome vidz Harlan! This is on my list! Thanks for sharing!!!

Wow! You’re amazing!! This is a monster! I’ve done Mist and Lougheeds 2 & 3 but I dont think I’m quite there yet to do Big Sister.
Well if you have done those then you are likely ready for this, as long as you are ok with some exposure on the downclimbs..
Great video man. This ones a little outside my comfort zone at least for now
.... I said that once too.... Thanks though!

Nice squad.
