Yes, this was a competition - a Chinese show called “I Am Singer” (Singer), a showcase competition for well known, professional Chinese singers, with a voting audience of 500 people from the music industry. Dimash was only 22 years old when he opened and won the very first episode of this show in 2017 with his performance of SOS (your first Dimash reaction was to his 2021 version of SOS). Dimash was the youngest and the first foreigner ever to be invited on the show (as a wildcard) and, as a total unknown in China, he wasn’t expected to last more than half the show. He astonished everyone, came second in the competition, an overnight sensation in China and a global phenomenon. He turned 28 in May this year, is 6’3” and has been in training and studying since he was 5 years old. When you see singer 2017 songs from the Chinese competition of 2017 where Dimash became at least an Asian phenomenon, those never get blocked. It is much later like in 2020 when Dimash had a different company take over his UA-cam management and they had to get more strict about copyright issues. So generally if it’s a 2020 video and later you probably will have to stop a lot or skew the video somehow to avoid a copyright. That’s my understanding and it might be limited. I’m sure there are others who could weigh in. But suffice it to say, that what ever trouble you have to endure to react to his later videos and share them with your subscribers it will be worth it. They are all diamonds in the rough. Every song every attempt at a movie video is a work of art from this man.

A version of "Diva Dance" that I think is even better is his Bastau version. It's very short but great!
