A 19 year old private has had more weapons training that most county sheriffs.
Different issue. In the military they are issued guns for training and combat purposes and returned to the armorer afterward. You dont keep your weapons with you at all times, on base or off in the military.
@@cashunknown1736 Last time I checked, you can enlist at 17, but only with parents' permission. You cannot graduate basic training/boot camp unless you are 18. And as long as you are in the military, there are major restrictions to gun ownership.
One, you have to keep your weapon secured with your unit's armorer, when not in use. You also have to qualify twice a year with said weapon and if you fail to qualify, you can't take it out.
Also, you are only allowed to use the weapon at designated firing ranges. While in basic training, you spend more hours of training on handling weapons than most public safety officers. And it's actually easier to lose access to your weapon, while you are active duty military than it is in the civilian world.
While you are a service member, you understand how powerful your weapon is. When I was in basic, my Platoon sergeant made us all name our weapons. It was to encourage us to understand and appreciate how important our M16A1s were. That's not something you see in the civilian world.
You try to make a point without stating all the facts haha. Is the president calling to raise the age from 18 to 21 for all guns or assault rifles? Specifically AR style, it's easy to be pissed off when you put a blanket statement like that out there and leave out a very important part

I agree with you. This show is so biased. The entire audience are Democrats. (Hence the audience clapping all the time). Sunny Hostin is the WORST host on that show. She needs to stop hating so much. Most of my family are Republicans and I would never talk to them in such a manner, because they're SMART Republicans. I am a Democrat, but I don't bully Republicans for being who they are. There are many smart Republicans and I respect them. This show disgusts me because they're all on the same side.

The Lebanese who live in a disaster, don’t have mental health intervention and everyone has machine guns and more don’t have the shootem up attitude towards children. Oh my gosh, this is what's so frustrating... This is why we can't really compromise. The four that spoke first had their chance to say their peace, they weren't interrupted and/or talked over. They gave each other the time and respect to share their thoughts... and then as soon as it's the last guys turn, they periodically interrupt him and won't give him the due time to share his thoughts. They were Arguing with him Not.. having a conversation. Yet they talk about having a conversation instead of actually having it... hah ugh. It's not a reasonable, mature, healthy and respectful Conversation if both sides can't share their thoughts equally.

That they don't even want to have a debate over this, and the minimum thing asking for the law to be instead of 18 to 21 not on all guns just AR style and that can't even be debated? I’m 61 and guns have been around for hundreds of years. This all started when parents wanted to be their kids friends, everyone got a trophy, we stopped using the word no to our kids and I think the biggest downfall is computers and the world wide network.

My state it took 4 weeks to take the g*n home, from the g*n store.
As it took that long, to do Federal and State background checks.
Criminal Record, DMV Records, Medical Health Record.
To make sure I had no mental health diagnosis' or hospitalization's for one.
Before I could pickup my f*rearm.
As far as AR's go, the price went up to 2k a rifle in 2020. Not to mention both types of shells, are 80 & up for a box.
And have been very hard, since 2020.
That's why I never bought one.

The problem with a majority of these people who want to ban guns is that they PAY FOR SECURITY for themselves, (or it has been stated that some of these politicians use fundraising money to pay for their security). Let them give up their personal security and then we will talk with them. They don't have the worries that the average American has, because they are surrounded by armed guards. If you think celebrities like Whoopi walks down the streets of this country without protection then you may be delusional.

I don't believe this is true. Parents discipline children for their own good because they love them. The schools simply monitor bad behavior to keep order, and rightly throw it back to parents when a particular child is completely out of hand. Discipline is a loving word but it is not administered in schools; it comes from the home as well it should.

If the legal age to own a firearm moves to 21, then so should the right to vote. or serve in the military. Or be drafted.
