Indonesian here, allow me to make a little correction here. Medan is not an island, it's a city. A big port city to be exact. In fact, Medan port is one of the busiest ports in the country.

When you mentioned the ship was found in the Straits of Malacca, I immediately thought it may have been a victim of piracy. That part of the world is known to have been infested by pirates in antiquity. A small ship, traveling alone would be vulnerable to pirates. The cargo of dangerous chemicals adds an additional element of danger. An interesting tale, indeed, Pinnso.

Ex-Merchant Mariner here. I very much doubt the captain of the Silver Star, or any other for that matter, would tow that ship to port without proper investigation from a health authority. He would report it to the nearest Naval jurisdiction.

The nerve gas theory has always rung truest to my ears. And if that's what really happened, I think it's terrifying enough without any added aspects of the supposed supernatural. Nerve gas is horrendous stuff.

This ship isn't on any known registry it's a sea tale and nothing more.

It may certainly be a cautionary tale regarding illegal cargo and smuggling even if such accidents do happen in the 'legitimate' world of maritime transportation. In either case the detail of the crew frozen and pointing at something is the more creepy detail of the accounts, the sinister implication of an unknown hostile entity being responsible.

IF… it actually happened, gasses emitted from the cargo makes a lot of sense. It would jive with the radio operator being the last man alive if he was in a center contained room, which most of them are.

each crewmember had a crush on the captain, but when he told them he was married to the sea, everyone died of a broken heart.
the captain then jumped from the ship and flew back home.
    the ship exploded from loneliness.
    mystery solved.

REALLY? The best date you could come up with was in the 1940s . Its not like the forties were in the middle ages . Everything is to vague "his name was supposedly Jerry Rabbit"

This ship never existed never not at anytime this story has been destroyed over and over and why anyone would tell this this lie when all it takes is a ten second goggle search to for someone to know its a lie while producing content in hopes of building an audience makes absolutely no sense to me.
