- Liberalism is currently under threat in America. We need to go back to the beginning, and take a look at the political philosophy underpinning our democracy. It's time for the American people to stand up against the new wave of anti-intellectualism that threatens our freedoms and rights.

Digging the background music!
very eloquent, can't wait to see what you put out next!
Much appreciated!
Nicely done.
I recommend Christopher Hitchens books on Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine (if you haven't already read them!).
Thanks for the recommendations! I have not read them but always appreciate good reading material 😊
I'm generally of the opinion that starting a political party by scratch isn't the best idea, especially in yhe current political enviornment.
The American electoral system works in such a way that a two party system is more or less inevitable. There has not been a major shakeup between the two parties since the collapse of the whigs in the early to mid 1800s. This is due to the fact that the US employs a "winner takes all" system to determine winners. This causes a spoiler effect, which encourages strategic voting, which results in a two party system. This is a well understood effect in politics.
This system will never be reformed, since the two parties in power have direct incentive to keep it that way. Why allow other actors into the picture when you can just keep all the power to yourself?
Combine this with the fact that the current political system is Rich Oligarcs that Hate You vs At Least We Tried, one of the candidates is so abhorently terrible that we cannot risk being the reason to get them into office. Even if that's a risk you want to take, you will have a hard time convincing other people of this.
This is all to say that I don't think a new political party will ever be able to do well nationally. So, what should we do instead?
I think that trying to infiltrate the democratic party and encourage change from within is a much more sound strategy. There's a reason we don't see many "sane" third party options- almost all of them are doing this exact thing. Parties are malleable, even if very resistant to change. If democrats can go from having a very large segregationist faction to a party reliant on minority support for election victories in only a few decades, then I very much believe we can make what are ultimately far less drastic shifts within the democratic party as well.
I will admit that I'm quite doubtful that anything will come of this regardless of what you do, but I do hope it works out for you. We're all tired of the current status quo.
@@Fieryketchup520 I never said we should start one from scratch. I believe we can achieve these things within the current Democratic party. I agree with you mostly. When I say we need a new party, I only mean we need to re-evaluate what the party stands for and what it's messaging moving forward should be.
I used to have this mentality before I learned about Austrian Economics. Trump's economic plan isn't the best but Kalama's was downright awful. Also, Trump is definitely not a fascist with any good faith interpretation though.
@@ngngngr I would love to see what your "good faith" definition of fascism is that Donald Trump wouldn't fit at this point...
