The message is worth a re-listen. And I sure need to tag him along for the listen 😁

I read and studied The Way They Learn when it was first published when I was homeschooling my kinesthetic daughter. I had so much fun, and so did she, just letting her go to move around while I was teaching. We used a literature based curriculum, and she had a huge box of dress-up clothes and fabrics. I could read comfortably in one room while she did costuming to match the historical period of the literature. Just to check, I’d ask her questions about the material, and her answers were spot on. She did best having oral exams standing up! She was never meant for college, per se. But all her life, she took courses to learn whatever she needed. No wonder she was a gymnast and is now a head coach with her own programs. Hands on, always! Cynthia’s book changed my family life, including marriage! We could all relax and appreciate our differences.

I learned from my husband’s innate sense of and need for order. I worked hard to make his home comings peaceful after my chaotic days as a very fulfilled and creative home maker. I had to WORK at it.
I didn’t always succeed 😅, but he appreciated the effort.

Absolutely. That's a sure sign that the speaker is not only educated, but what she is saying has great value. She not only speaks from experience, but she also can identify and explain all of the different categories, even if she doesn't have those qualities herself. She can describe both sides of the coin, so to speak, but only resides on one face of it. We should all strive to be empathetic, patient, fair, loving and kind, like she is, in our own judgment and behavior, especially towards others, but also to ourselves.

Kinesthetic. Learning by moving. Works in short spurts to keep things moving. If they are required to sit still all they can think about is moving and they're not hearing what you're saying. They need to try it to believe it.

50% of the population are ANALYTIC thinkers; more detailed thinker; step by step. Files away things. Doesn't prefer working with others; plays independent sports (like golf).
The other 50% is a GLOBAL thinker; sees the overall picture; likes to have everything spread out; great spurts of inspiration followed by long plateaus of nothing. This is why there are more than one projects going at once bc when they're uninspired they can move to another project. Doesn't file anything, works better with piles. Out of sight, out of mind. Would rather work on a team.

Can you pass this on to Cynthia? Her site only let's you write 2sentences before throwing you out of it! Anyway, her post on having a strong willed wife... You think you are strong willed? Cynthia, has you husband
ever looked at you admiringly w/a big smile? Then got a responds from you, Why are you always laughing at
me? Then "blabbed" that to everyone at your family gatherings? The experts would say, Go back to what you
were doing early on in your marriage ie. Sitting down to dinner, praying together, holding hands, making goo
goo eyes at each other! Sorry, we never did that! When are you going say, If it works for you great! Well, I am
not a complainer, so if SHE does not "flip" out on me ( or just twice a year) I can live w/it! It has been 41 years
so to quote you...Just saying! But he bad thing is that I am a good talker and can hold my own w/her or that
could be a bad thing! My memory can get me in trouble too! Anyway, going to your marriage group in Brandon might help...but we need that more intensive session - - I think it it called, Ultra Vi for some reason!
Or just stay the course...at least she has never accused me of having affairs! But what you think is important
to me. I could easily see what I have just written in your next book (that would be Dave & Lois) but I am sure you would change our names anyway. All the same, you are good at what you do! I'm sleeping in the garage!
