This man is speaking truth where speaking truth is a punishment ; risking his life and everything he has; he has a wise face and his speech is captive ... the true definition of Al-Muslimeen
    May God Bless you
Salam to your faith and courage

I must admit I’m really confused. Why are all of the sahaba killing each other? And why did Abu Bakr and Aisha wage war against Ali, the prophets son in law and his daughter Fatima. How did they all live amongst each other with the prophet and then start waging war the moment of his death yet were all part of the same community?
As a convert who has not spent anytime on this where do I go to learn an authentic history on this stuff to know what happened? Salam alaykum. Very sad history that ensued

Abu Bakr and Aisha didn't wage war on Ali and Fatima. I suggest you read "The Succession to Muhammad" by Wilfred Madelung.
The answer is because the companions were all too human and as such sometime not motivated by the higher human spirit, despite their proximity to the Prophet Muhammad. This in no way reflects on the Prophet, there are a number of verses which state the Messenger is charged with delivering and is not in control of them during his own life (Q 88:22), let alone when he died.
If you're interested in this stuff, spring forth from the Qur'an, take your time and read widely. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Because they were people, human beings, with all the shortcomings that brings. They are no more holy or guided or able than anybody living today. Once muslims make peace with this and understand it, they will be able to extract guidance from the earliest history of Islam. As long as they white wash and lift the earliest generations to the skies, almost placing them along side their Prophet, they are weighed down by their own faulty understanding of history.

@@seletarroots3258 You should fear Allah for your degradation and misleading claims about the senior most Sahaba (rahm) about who Allah AWJ has stated He is pleased with them. It is a selfish & arrogant claim to equate they were no better than any who walk about today. Or that they who were taught by the Prophet (saws) were not more guided than any who sit here today?
Or that those who were promised Jannah in their lives, and achieved martyrdom after years of the most difficult tests are no more pious or righteous than any who criticize and smear them today?
The Prophet (saws) warned "Fear Allah with regard to my Companions! Do not make them targets after me.!"[At Tirmidhi]. And Ibn Masud narrated he (saws) is reported to have said "Let none of you come to me with anything about any of my Companions." [At Tirmidhi]

What is the most cited story in the Quran? The story of Musa and Bani Israel. Indeed just as the people of Musa a.s left the appointed khalifa Harun a.s and started worshiping the calf, the people of Muhammad saww left the appointed khalifa of Imam Ali a.s.
Now it is up to you if you want to hold on to the thaqalayn, the two weighty things, so that you never go astray and follow the example of great sahaba who supported the Ahl Al-Bayt such as Ammar, Salman, Jabir, Abu Dharr, Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr, Malik ibn Nuwayrah, Uthman ibn Hunayf, Miqdad, Bilal, Umm Salamah and others may allah be pleased with them.
Or you can follow the likes of the first two, khalid, talha, amr ibn al aas, Aisha, and Banu Umayya...
"So it is that, for every prophet, We have set up enemies,-the devils of mankind and jinn-who seduce one another with alluring rhetoric in order to deceive..."

He's currently in jail in Saudi Arabia and the prosecution is seeking the death penalty. He sees it as his duty and doesn't think he's sacrificed anything like the people of the House or other awliya of God.

This historical analysis makes some sweeping allegations which amount to revising historical events. Thus, the speaker propagates a bias narrative , an ideological agenda, whether he harbors sectarian motives, or some other motives.
What he fails to articulate, analyze, weigh, for example, are the deeply embedded cultural and mental effects of Tribalism which defined Arab tribal societies, as well as the tribal motives, customs, and tribal mentality which consists of a spectrum of conduct, some of which today we perceive as noble, and some we perceive as thoughtless, and some we judge as greed. The transition from sparsity, scarcity, impoverishment which pervasively defined all aspects of Arab life, especially tribal life, and elevated tribalism to be propagated to challenge the Cause of Allah, to a new life, or a new abundance, a temptation of abundance, cannot be dismissed or be relegated to a mere footnote.
