I have almost 700 films only a few I have more than one copy of the film the only problem with having so many is there's very little time to watch them all
Very nice collection man. I have a similar one myself but I own not a single MCU or Star Wars movie. I am more of a DC guy and ever since The Force Awakens was released along with the never-ending changes to the original trilogy I said enough is enough. I only hope to get my hands on a "despecialized" edition or a 50th anniversary edition in 5 years from now that would fix some issues (like the Han vs Greedo scene, reinstating original Cantina characters or removing that terrible ronto and keeping the original robots crossing over the street.). Honest question (if you care to answer it). I watch a lot of movie/game collection videos. It's always interesting to see what fellow cinephiles' taste are like. And I've noticed that a lot of collectors have multiple copies of the same movies/games in their collections. I myself as a fellow collector have never done this. I only ever keep a single copy of any game or movie with only a few very rare exceptions. (i.e. Out of 800+ movies that I own, only 2 are duplicates: Ghost in the Shell 95' and A Bittersweet Life.) Games can be very valuable depending on a number of factors, so I can easily see why people tend to have multiple copies. There's money that can be made there. But on the whole, movies don't normally retain or grow in value to that same extent. So I was curious as to why you keep so many duplicate movies.
I have multiple copies because of two factors, new packaging and new transfer quality upgrade, then having upgraded o don't get rid of the older version, I just keep it
@@Romeroland I get that. I do a lot of upgrading myself. But I usually sell my old copy just for the sake of making a few dollars back. Especially given how expensive physical media has become over the last few years. I remember the days where I could buy new movies for $15, nowadays it's almost $30. And if I'm getting a 4K, it's not uncommon for them to run close to $50. Collecting is most assuredly no longer a poor man's game. Especially when it comes to gaming. In point of fact, many of my steal books and special editions I own were upgrades purchased long after the fact from used DVD sellers because buying them on release day just wasn't cost-effective for me.
