Thanks for the video. Very thorough. Only quibble... Samsung actually owns JBL (and Harman/Kardon for that matter), as of about 5-6 years ago. They also built a state-of-the-art audio lab in California where they've been developing some serious audio components developed from that "partnership".
I urge you all to listen to it in person. All the reviews I've watched never seem to do the sound quality justice. I recently bought the st90b and I am surprised how clean and crisp the audio is. People talk like it doesn't have bass but it is punchy without sounding too warm, muddled and hollow. I own 2 JBL eons and i dislike how the bass on those tend to bleed into the mids and reverberate in an unpleasant way. Also, no one seems to mention the bi-directional speakers act like right and left stereo channels, which is a huge advantage over the competition.

Reddit users review on JBL PB 1000 I own 2. It sounds amazing, clear, and full of bass even at low volumes. You will never need to go to 100% volume, probably not even 70%. If I close all the doors and windows in the house and go outside, you can certainly hear it. I’d imagine it can be heard a block away so you want to use this at responsible volume levels as this is a serious machine. I’m always below half volume at home. Think of it as buying a car that can go a speed of 200mph but you will never need to go that fast, but you know it has that capability because it’s a beast. It’s the Ferrari of Bluetooth speakers. It’s in a class of its own. The light show is also equally impressive, you can turn it off, but you’re not going to want to. My tv has Bluetooth, so using 2 pbox 1000’s in true surround Left and Right is better than movie theatre quality sound. I’ve recently tested a bunch of different portable Bluetooth speakers, including jbl xtreme 2, bose soundlink revolve+, jbl charge 4, and UE Megaboom 3. None of those even come close to the partybox 1000. If high quality music and style from the light show is your thing then you’ll be proud of your purchase. I’m never fully satisfied listening to smaller portable Bluetooth speakers now that I’ve experienced what the pbox is capable of. You will feel the bass in your bones even at low volumes and there are 3 different settings for the bass. I’ve never put it on the max bass setting because it’s house shaking.
Does anyone know what size woofers this has? I know it does not have a subwoofer like the t70.. which is my concern about how it performs on lows without a sub

I have my speakers connected via RCA cables to WiiM Pro Plus DACs and the sound is much louder and clearer than I expected from the reviews. I wouldn't pay $1200 for these but at
When you change the sound, can you find a sound profile that you like? If you cycle through the light mode, are you able to find something that you enjoy watching? If the answer is, yes, and yes. Then my question would be, why are you concerned about the label of the mode it is on. P.S. I listen to rock if there is only presets available. Don’t tell anyone, but I usually listen to edm, rap/hip hop and other types of music, and listen to them when using the rock sound setting. As for as the RGB, I turn it off, if I can.
You have a point. But it's quite annoying day to day having to flick through the light settings to find the one you like. Personally if I was listening to pop I would want it on the pop setting to know I'm getting the most from the speaker. But you do make a valid point. Still means the bass is annoying as you have to flick it backwards and forwards and sit there wondering what sounds better. Whereas if you knew you liked it off, you could see that It was off and then job done
@@HammoTechReviews that might be your problem. You wonder, and flick over and over. Then you accept that the preset sound profiles are the best. That might not be helpful to you. If you look at the difference between the sound profile are, you might be able to find one that you might leave it on. Question, have you ever had something that had a equalizer on it? How often did you change the equalizer? Now, instead of thinking about the sound profile, if you notice the bass was too high for your preference at that moment. You pushed the bass button. If the bass dropped, you would be happier. If the bass gained more, you would be less happy, so press it again. This is not really a speaker that you sit back and do serious listening to. This is one that you are doing things and it are enjoying the activity of the moment. It’s meant to add music and enhance, your activity. I am not saying that you shouldn’t say that there is not a way to see the settings, and to accept what you are given. It is important that you let people know that, there is no indication of modes or settings. And that you are used to having indicators, and/or how indicators would be used for your preferences, and how others might be missing out by not having indicators present on the product. The portability is not so important, especially when it is this large, and the lights are something that I would probably not want. Maybe if it would act as an vu meeter, I would use them sometimes. I would have enjoyed it if you would have set it up in a situation where you would possibly listen to it and, at a distance, use a separate phone, tablet whatever, and use a app that will produce a sound reading. It would show the different frequencies that are being played as the speakers are playing your choice of music. (If you play a 80hz frequency, you should be able to see it on your screen, and any other frequencies produced would be seen. If indeed of 80hz it produced 85hz or 78hz. You could tell. The flat profile sound, is not important for this, but how low it plays, and where/how sharp it drops off at the bottom is something that I will find interesting. Especially when watching with an music track being played.) Keep the same song, where anyone can listen on their same device and be able to compare.

The Samsung speaker mic gain is very low. Even though you cannot change the mic voice settings. ( Voice control - Bass, Treble) .
