    One has to wonder how he could even hear all this and write it down. Makes my head spin. Bach sits right under God as far as Composers go.

    This is one of my favorite baroque pieces ever. It simultaneously makes me feel refresh, inadequate, and inspired.

    The 1st movement is one of Bach's best works for sure.

      You missed the fugue 3rd movement?

      @@mtv565 First of all I said one of the best, secondly, if I missed it I wouldn't have explicitly mentioned the 1st movement.

      You’re both sleeping on movement 2

      @@LordFloofTM I think it's enough that Bach apparently fell asleep while he was writing it.

    Some conductors replace that 2-measure movement with the Largo from Bach's Violin sonata in G major BWV1019.

    The last movement is based on Albinoni's Sinfonia a 5, Op. 2 No. 1, also in G major.

    • @herrickinman9303
      @herrickinman9303 Рік тому

      No, it's not. You idiotically assumed that if an Italian Baroque composer used a similar sounding motif in a piece in G major, then it follows that the last movement of this Bach work must be "based on" the Italian work.

    harpsichord part?

    • @herrickinman9303
      @herrickinman9303 Рік тому +2

      Ignorant question. The bottom staff is labeled "Violone e Cembalo," which means "Violone and Harpsichord." There's no written out harpsichord part because the role of the harpsichord was to accompany. The left hand would double the bass line and the right hand would improvise a mostly chordal accompaniment.

    Disappointed there are no dynamics markings on the score!

    • @samaritan29
      @samaritan29 Рік тому +3

      dynamics didn't exist before bach you baka!

    • @herrickinman9303
      @herrickinman9303 Рік тому

      @@samaritan29 That's ignorant nonsense. The very definition of early music is that the score doesn't represent the composer's full intentions. Furthermore, you will find dynamic markings in some Baroque scores, especially in vocal music. Also, the performing parts often contain markings not found in the score. Musicians in Bach's time mainly performed contemporary music, and they performed it according to contemporary performance practice.
