It was a Bad End from the start but 8:00 was definitely where the "Worst End" part started.

I see Miyazaki is using the open world format to utilize more experimental and unique forms of sadism/masochism. That teleport trap bit almost reminds me of Fallout 76's Nuka-Shine.
Letting you go Anywhere You Wish is just more chances to Make You Wish You Went Anywhere Else-
