- An international Magical Collaboration with @bill40bates
I make the blade and Drew from Unruhly 3 is making the handle.
The resulting product is truly beautiful and it shows what magic you can achieve if you work together.
I scored a new knife and a friend for life.
See Drew make the handle here • Kolrosing Knives with ...
And give him a Hi-5 from me.
Kohlrosing (a.k.a. Kolrosing) is the Scandinavian tradition of incising thin decorative lines and patterns in carved wood and filling with dark powders (charcoal, coal dust, coffee grounds, graphite, ground bark) or colored wax, etc. for contrast,. Kohlrosing dates back to at least Viking times.
Cheers Mat
Taylor here! So glad you liked the picture :) I know my dad had fun doing this
Thanks Taylor, It sure was a lot of fun. Thanks again for the picture.
So much fun Mat! I think you were the one who made the magic!
Thanks Drew it was real magic wasn’t it. But working together is what I recon made it work. I could not have done it without you. That knife was gorgeous. Thank you.
The knife is a piece of art very nice.
A beautiful knife helps to inspire you to make even more beautiful things.
Great collaboration mate! I could see how genuinely thrilled you were receiving these gifts! For all the negative things that can happen on the internet it's stuff like this that is what I love it for. Meeting people from around the world and making something like this happen fills me with joy, thanks for sharing!
Hey thanks Sam, I really appreciate that and thoroughly agree. we should do a collaboration together some time too.
@@Saw-IT I'd be real keen on this mate :) maybe look at something for after Christmas If that works for you? I usually take most of January off work so will be tinkering the whole time
I have not seen cinnamon used in that manner before :D Beautiful knife.
It sure is beautiful but the best part was the collab with Drew in the States.
Kolrosing is an art form i want to get better at especially now that I have the knives. These days makers have the laser engraver go to and they are getting reasonably priced these days.
I bought a set of TINY microscrewdrivers from our local Chinese shop. The narrowest is about 1mm. Used fine sandpaper to sharpen the ends and sides. They work like a dream.
That is a fantastic idea !!
Just found your channel through one of @Unruhly 3s videos. Nice collaboration! Great to find another good channel for more tips and tricks. Love your setup and all the hatchets behind you on the wall!
Thanks Gary. I really appreciate that. Always learning and getting better. So there will always be new tips. I hope I have direct.a lot of traffic to Drew’s channel too. Ps I Love my blades. Haha. Thanks.

Thanks Giacomo, and thanks for helping with the magical sawdust network.
Made me jump when the first item dropped from hogwarts mail delivery services, glad you read his letter and showed the car, as until you read the letter I was thinking what it was that dropped. Cracking knife the handle looks really cool and very different from what we normally see 👀. As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
Thanks Simon. I really appreciate that. The block of wood was made made me jump. My son half threw it at me. Haha. Next video will be completely different again.
@@Saw-IT just watched the collaboration video of the knife being made, made me laugh when his kid started saying basically they ain't hard work etc.
@@simonr6793 sorry I missed that had to go back and watch it two more times.
Need to figure out how to join that magic shipping service!!
Thanks, it sure is fun to use. Funny how we both did a Harry Potter themed video at the same time. The universe works in mysterious ways. 😄
