This series does a great job of playing on tropes - of giving you a stereotypical 80s movie character (like the bumbling incompetent adult figure) and turning it on its head!
This is one of my favourite episodes because of how certain characters are starting to piece things together, and Joyce is my favourite character, she just doesn't give up.
All these actors just knock this out of the park. The kids are so impressive.

Thats because they already are finishing season 2 on patreon lol. The episodes are already filmed & edited.
@@Sebas.504 That's not really why. They still need to keep up a fast and consistent pace of filming and editing in order to keep the early access the same amount ahead. Otherwise, the UA-cam videos would catch up to the Patreon ones pretty quickly, and the consistency and speed would falter.
The fact that they're on season 2 on Patreon has nothing to do with their speed or consistency, it just signifies how much of a delay there is between the filming/editing and release on UA-cam.

Winona Ryder was perfect for this role. She plays weird, outcast, neurotic perfectly.
The 80s references to books, movies, tv shows & commercials is just one of the fun part of this series. You might be too young to catch all of them, but it'll still be fun for you. You've seen some of the movies, but the movies don't tell all. I have a theory of how this show will end (well, just a part of it) and I can't wait to know for sure. lol

I’m digging these reactions so far, and loving how quick you guys are releasing them! And I don’t blame you; this is an excellent series. I could never understand why some people dislike this show, it’s great top to bottom and a fun watch.
Autopsies aren't always done, especially if the cause of death is obvious in the case it clearly looked like a drowning. These people covering everything up are next level evil. Glad mom knows better and Hop, Jonathan, and Nancy.
Fun fact: The title of this episode "The Body" is a reference to the short story "The Body" by Stephen King. Stranger Things is based on it along with other works of his. The movie "Stand by me" (1986) is a movie adaptation of that short story. We'll see more "The Body"- and Stephen King references throughout the next seasons.

Hopper is amazing and is a great complex character, something I feel Stranger Things does well, give you complex characters. I am not sure when it comes to autopsys in America, but when my Mother passed I got to run to her body, hug her, cry as I pressed my forehead to hers. No one stopped me. So it does seem like their keeping her from him. If it was during Covid times maybe? If worried of disease? Still its his mother. And during the 80's with lax rules.
He saw that no autopsy was done on the body that's why he was confident about cutting into it

If you were deep in the "Deep vs amber" trial she actually always said that that he was always a nice guy... Johnny didnt want her involved in the "circus" so she never was called into the trial... The other girl Johnny Deep dated for some years - Superstar Model Kate Moss -was called because Amber heard mentioned her. Vanessa Paradis, is ex-wife wasnt also called because he also didnt want her involved.

Hey guys. An old man here with a bit of completely useless info. What I believe Johnathan was doing when he looked down and missed Barb's abduction was changing film. I'm a photographer and made a decades long career of it. Back in the 80's all cameras were mechanical, no computer or electrical parts. So, the wanky electric currents would have no effect on Jonathan's camera. These days they are all electrical and computer reliant.
Back then the most pictures you could take on a roll of film was 36. I think he was reloading (I've done it a million times)
The part that baffles me, as a photographer, is that he was shooting the pool party WITH A FLASH. The flash wouldn't have been effective from that distance....and more importantly....it's a bright burst of light that any member of the group should have seen.
I'm sure that it was a director's choice. To better illustrate that he was taking pictures. Most people watching wouldn't really notice. But me, I'm thinking why didn't anyone notice the repeated bright burst of light at the forest edge 😂
