This episode shows that Homelander is not just a mindless powerhouse brute. He’s calculating in his machinations in achieving corporate and political power. I hold my breath when he’s around Starlight. This is a whole other level of menace.

Homelander isn't dumb. He's emotionally damaged but he's not dumb. It makes him a fascinating character to watch because you never know what's he's going to do next. It's always believable that he could pull X off or walk right into Y

The question is why? Why is Homelander so worried about Stan? Especially now, that Stan is being brought down on corruption charges. I think there is more to Stan than we know. He may be actually be the most powerful supe. I can't see how else he can be that cocky in front of Homelander without a concern. I mean Homelander killed the newest member of the 7 without a concern. What's stopping him from killing the indicted Stan, someone he no longer works for, let alone works with?

That’s what I was afraid of, Kimiko losing her healing ability and the actors said in multiple interviews that they loved Kimiko’s journey this season and her in hospital clothes in the singing montage that looks like a dream sequence or telepathic inception before she actually dies. Whenever a character says they want to run away... that's never a good sign
they could use the V24 to help her heal.

Favourite moment simply because it’s the most intriguing to me, is Hughie in the van smiling acting like a psycho while Kimiko is dying seemingly not giving two schitts. He tasted some power, are we gonna see Hughie turn to the dark side?? Of course Jamie was the star of the show though.
This season has been so intense and awesome way better than season 2 so far.

My favorite scene is with Stan Edgar essentially talking down to & exposing Homelander's insecurity in such an eloquent way even though he knows that an instant he could have been eliminated!

Whats funny when it comes to "The Boys" is that its suposed to be an over the top super hero parody show. Still it manages to invoke more feelings than most drama shows out there and has more suspense than most Thriller shows out there.. The guys who write this show are pure geniouses. I wish we could get writers like this for star wars shows and Marvel shows..

Did anyone else notice that when Butcher and Hughie used the temp V they got similar powers of the supe they hate? Butcher got the bulletproof skin, super strength, (not as strong as Homelanders though) and the laser eyes. Hugie got the ability to teleport, which could be seen as he's moving so fast our eyes cant track him. If MM Takes temp V expect him to get similar powers to Soldier Boy.

Yeah I agree, this is some 4D chess by Edgar. He certainly has no love for the superhero division, but plugging it rn would face some backlash from the public, and homelander could take a leaf out of Stormfronts book and play the victim/martyr with his whole "they hate me for me" spin.
I think he willing relinquished his position so homelander can take over, and just power drill the entire division into the ground through his pettiness and impulsiveness, and then Edgar swoops in as a savior figure, now with enough backing (thanks to homelander) to ground the superhero division and with Victoria in a position of legitimate power, having taken down a big fish like Edgar, he'll not only have Homelander eat humble pie, but also enough connections to transform Vought
What I love about this show too is that it hasn't the problem of "Oh, now only 4 episodes left... How will that all work fine and be a good ending?🤔😬"

Only Star Wars live action show that let me down on D+ so far is BoB it felt soo boring, to be honest all of the Marvel shows have been good in my opinion enjoyed them more than most of the movies after Endgame honestly.
That performance at the beginning was NOT a parody of William Shatner! That was a real TV show back in the 80s called Solid Gold, and Soldier Boy was "rapping" to a real rap song called Rapture by Blondie. It was the first mainstream rap song. Debbie Harry (lead singer of Blondie) has even been commenting on Jensen's performance on Twitter.
When we saw what happened to Alex aka Supersonic, it really broke my heart, even though we all saw it happening a mile away. It’s not often we find people who are genuinely sincere and sweet. When anything bad happens to these good people, it really is a crime.😔
The actor who plays Homelander is amazing, he plays that character so well and actually does a swell job at being f*cking scary when need be but also hilarious when need be.

The Deep doesn't actually have 'super powers' as such. He has gills and can communicate with sea creatures. It's not there with killer eye rays and super strength. He might be the one supe who could actually leave the seven and live in his own realm.
The show Soldier Boy appeared on, “Solid Gold” was an actual program from the 80s. He was doing a cover of a song by Blondie.

One thing nobody has mentioned for some reason which seems strange to me, is that in Russia, when showing those murals of The Seven looking evil, there's one of Queen Maeve eating someone, and that's from a very famous painting called Saturn Devouring His Son, which was painted in the early 1800's.

Stan let the Russians take Soilder Boy as a contingency plan, possibly to comb over the supes in the military and how Soilder Boy was not their best work. Stan knew where Soilder Boy was this whole time, and likely gave the V24 to Queen Mauve for the Boys to intimate Payback and locate the lab in Russia.

I don't think A-Train will ever be redeemed. He likes the money and the fame that comes with his powers. I almost wonder if he'll somehow manage to get a new heart, or Vought will make a product that will repair his old one. I can't wait to see what direction this goes in the last 4 episodes.

As soon as supersonic told him, I knew he would tell homelander. The deep and A-train can't help themselves. I do hope that a train can redeem himself but I'm not sure if that will be true to his character. It just sucks seeing him do that because there seems to be good in him but if it gets the way in his selfish motivation, I'd imagine he's almost always going to take whatever best serves him.

@@EJD339 Someone on a discussion board had a theory that maybe A-train didn't tell Homelander, that Homelander heard the conversation with his super hearing. Even if this was true, I still don't see A-Train getting a redemption story out of this season.
I really hope Kimiko doesn't die, cause that I feel would be the end of the boys cause MM seems to be at his wits end and Frenchie is already halfway out, if she bites the dust I'm sure he'll be gone for sure.
Finally Solider Boy is actually showing up I'm surprised it took this long. Can't believe Hughie is already getting superpowers I knew it was going to happen eventually but I thought they would of waited for a more epic moment. You can tell though that he is too enamored with the power, unlike Butcher who is just taking it to even the playing field and use it as a weapon. I'm glad they didn't try to redeem A-train I always wanted him to get what is coming to him from season 1 same as The Deep and Homelander. Also glad to see Maeve again thought it was so weird she didn't show up last couple episodes to help Starlight manage Homelander but makes sense now as she is laying low.

Remember the bathroom scene where Hughie catches Butcher shotting up, Butcher tells him the shot is punishment it's poison Hughie definitely doesn't see it that way.
I would love it if Jamie the super hamster is given to Ryan by Butcher, as a pet in order to mend their relationship.

The Solid Gold intro with the ACTUAL Solid Gold show intro from the real TV show was hilarious. Even had the real host info correct. Loving that and the overall music choices too (i.e. "Poison" from BBD)

P.S I thought the Vought TV Network was pretty much a Bill O'Reilly/Tucker Carlson parody (or Rachel Maddow/Jon Stewart depending on which way your philosophies lean).
This Season is really packing in a lot in...and to think there are likely even more wild and crazy episodes left.
I low-key think Stan is a mega-superpowered individual and just hasn't revealed it yet OR he's going to set Homelander up by having the world watch Homelander kill him and destroy his image causing Homelander's descent into madness and eventual mistake laden downfall.

For all his faults, I think Soldier Boy is still a patriot. He faught Nazis in WWII right? So I think he'll come to view Homelander as the bad guy. Although I suspect that initially he'll be fooled by Homelander's faux patriotism. I wonder if Soldier Boy ever faught Stormfront?

I think Edgar has to have compound V powers,they way he talks to a loose cannon like homelander and how he wasn’t afraid to take in a very young Victoria after she had killed her birth parents and didn’t really understand her powers or how to use them
I have this theory that Crimson Countess was the one who helped the Russians get Soldier Boy, probably sick of him mistreating her and cheating on her, and that's why she ran when they came after her, compared to how Gunpowder reacted. My guess is that Soldier Boy will either go to her to kill her, if he knows about her betrayal, or find out about it later and kill her

I was thinking about how "in-character" it would be for The Boys TV show to build Soldier Boy up as one of the few people that can do something against Homelander, but then he ends up getting merced. I'm hoping it doesn't happen though, because I'm interested in seeing Soldier Boy become a main villain for the next three seasons. Maybe don't kill Homelander, but strip him of his powers. That gives him a chance at a redemption arc where he realizes how fucked up he's been because of being raised in a lab, and how hes kinda glad he doesn't have his powers anymore. Then maybe fast forward, either against Soldier Boy or more than likely, someone stronger and more terrifying, Butcher will basically team up with Homelander. They both take the 24 hr compound V (maybe Homelander takes the permanent one) and they both use their powers to fight a single threat, kinda taking their whole "scorched earth" conversation and turning it one its head.

Last season they did Love Sausage and this season we got Jamie. Hope he also becomes Hughie's pet later on somehow. Favourite scene has to be Jamie and A-Train Vs Deep.

I’ve never read the comics and from what I’ve heard the show is going in a completely different direction from the comics but this my speculation. Some of the promos show the actors for Butcher and Homelander swapping outfits. That can be the indicator of the direction the show is taking. I predict that Butcher is going to get addicted to the power and continue using compound V while Homelander will temporarily lose his powers from a blast from Soldierboy and see how vulnerable everyone else feels around him. We shall see

@@amvroco This is somehow not discussed enough. Black Noir has healing powers from what we've seen in his Middle East mission. Yet in '84 he took quite the severe blow which never truly healed (we see his scars later on). That might have been Soldier Boy's doing.

Homelander reminds me of GoT book Cerci at the moment.
From the perspective they both consider themselves really smart political powerhouses, strong leaders, wheeling, dealing , and backstabbing to their advantage.
However they both lack seeing the big picture, both think that physical force is power, both create a mountain of enemies while ' succeeding'. both drag themselves under while thinking that being the 'king/queen' in itself will save them.
I guess Hughie also got a healing factor, as his arm is healed.
I'm going to be so pissed if Kimiko dies, she's been my favorite character. But sadly I think she's gone especially since her and Frenchie made plans to leave, whenever someone decides something like that on this show they end up dead.

02:20 Solid Gold was a real tv show in the 1980s. It wasn't made up. The only made up part was Solider Boy on the show. Even the host was the real host.
A-Train's commercial is also from the 1980s with the "Coke is It" commercials. You have to remember that the people working on the show were alive when the old references happened. That's why being there works better than a search engine result.

Still so refreshing to watch this show. Love the mcu but they're really lacking more mature content, especially with the Netflix characters looking to be lightened up (atleast what we saw from kingpin). I really hope Marvel and Disney have plans to do atleast somewhat darker, more adult stuff with characters like DP and Punisher because I love this.

I think that the part with Hughie looking high on the ride back is meant to show that his new strength is getting to him mentally. There's been hints throughout the season so far that he feels annoyed at not being as physically strong as the people around him. Now that he got a taste of power, it's all he can think about, even when Kimiko is on the brink of death behind him.
