Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on UA-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on UA-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on UA-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

"ahhhh Shut up Bowie..."
then one of the GREATEST SONGS EVER WRITTEN.
No flash. Just pure talent. He could have any stage he wanted. Just simple CLASS!
A lot of flash, actually. It's Bowie.
@@thisworldofwater8017Not on this one pal. Not a shred of flash. No crazy makeup, hair style, clothing, smoke bombs, lasers, flames, nothing. No dozens of backup singers or dancers throwing themselves around like the idiots in today’s pop and rap. Bowie in a suit and tie, with his natural charisma, smile, and voice.
I miss him 💔🎶
Me too.💔
Same ,as in, I still can't quite believe his actually passed .So I listened to him often and am very grateful he lived during our,my time.
Fan for 43 years and these kinds of reactions give me so much life.
Bowie was special. Every album different, and unique. So many great songs.
A superb live performance of my favourite Bowie song which is saying something because he has so many great ones. Pure genius. I had the great good fortune to see him live once, what a night.
God bless him, Bowie wrote and performed many brilliant songs down the years for a number of great albums, but he was never more at home than here, in front of a live audience. I had the great pleasure of seeing him play live a couple of times, and his stage presence was always amazing, as was the banter he always had with his band and with the audience. I'm not sure we'll ever see his like again. RIP David! 💔 🙋♂ Lovely reaction as usual Shawn.
Thanks, Shawn! So glad you checked this particular performance and loved your reaction to it!
Still hard to believe he"s gone. Thank you David.
Five Years, is. Haunting Bowie tune,
BTW, that's the incredible Mick Ronson playing guitar. Passed away, young, from liver cancer.
The "tone" he was able to create, utilizing various pedals, was just amazing.
Thank God, we have these videos and this great music will live on, for generations. Deep catalog. Dig in!
His talent was almost endless. His final album ,made when he knew he was dying, is remarkable. An artist to the end.
What a beautiful and powerful song.
I was lucky enough to see David Bowie and his fellow musicians live, and they were all extordinary ❤
When you see this brilliant performance it's hard to believe he's no longer with us so sad RIP David Jones.
This is my favourite Bowie song from the "Berlin Trilogy" of albums recorded when Bowie, along with his good friend Iggy Pop, had relocated to Berlin in order to "dry out" from alcohol and drug abuse issues. Fellow British Berlin resident, ambient music maestro Brian Eno, produced the albums and brought in Robert Fripp, (King Crimson), on guitar and "Frippertronics" effects pedals to add his unique sound to the recordings. These albums have a darker more experimental feel to them than Bowies other recordings.
Thanks Rich......was hoping someone would mention Frippertronics.......my favourite version of Heros.
Best version!! Thanks! I just love this story!!
David Bowie on Heroes, “I always said it was a couple of lovers by the Wall that prompted the idea for Heroes,” Bowie told Classic Rock in 2015, explaining its meaning. “Actually, it was [Bowie producer] Tony Visconti and his girlfriend. Tony was married at the time, so I couldn’t talk about it. But I can now say that the lovers were Tony and a German girl [Antonia Maass] that he’d met while we were in Berlin. I think possibly his marriage was in the last few months. And it was very touching because I could see that Tony was very much in love with this girl, and it was that relationship which sort of motivated the song.” “I’ll never forget that,” he recalled. “It was one of the most emotional performances I’ve ever done. I was in tears. They’d backed up the stage to the Wall itself so that it was acting as our backdrop. We kind of heard that a few of the East Berliners might actually get the chance to hear the thing, but we didn’t realize in what numbers they would. "And there were thousands on the other side that had come close to the wall. So it was like a double concert, where the Wall was the division. And we would hear them cheering and singing along from the other side. God, even now I get choked up. It was breaking my heart. I’d never done anything like that in my life. And I guess I never will again. Source: www.loudersound.com/features/the-story-behind-the-song-heroes-by-david-bowie
Saw him on The Serious Moonlight tour in 83 or so. Top 10 show of my life.
David Bowie...one of my all-time favorites artist! I seen him enter the music scene...and I lived to see him to his end with his battle with Cancer. R.I.P. David. This is a song tribute to the Berlin Wall between East & West Germany.....back in the day. ❤❤❤
I saw Bowie twice in London . . once in the early 1970s and then again in the late 1990s . . . very different concerts - both great.
You can't go wrong with any of the live cuts from the Reality tour or that era. That band killed.
I agree.
Yes it was a great tour. I saw him in San Jose California performing this!!
Bowie was such an underrated artist on stage. I saw him 4 times and he always gave 110% or more.
I prefer the live versions of his songs to the studio versions in most cases. He sang with such emotion.
Thank you so much for reacting to this performance, its my fave ever of this song. I love to see you enjoy this as much as we do and such a great smile. Cheers & Peace Out ✌️
The man's voice is outstanding.
The story goes that one night on the elevated train in Berlin, Bowie saw two lovers leaning against the Berlin Wall, and he marveled at the contrast and how life/love finds a way-
Bullets over our heads, the shame is on the other side, we can beat them, forever and ever, …
You picked up on a LOT man well done, just not WHY the bullets 😉 > he didn’t make it specific, that was probably purposeful, as it can almost apply to ‘life during wartime’ anywhere🤘🏽
This is my favorite Bowie song for the reasons above, and this is a great performance.
Goosebumps for me. My favorite David Bowie tune.
"I wish I could swim.... like a dolphin can swim."
Yes the Berlin wall. He recorded this song in the epic studio close to it. He could see the guards.
How magical it must have been to be in that audience hearing that song in Berlin. I just got back from a trip to Berlin. We saw the apartment building where Bowie lived with Iggy Pop. A pub downstairs had a Bowie Dark Star poster in the window. I wish we had time to do more of a music trip, but we did also get to see many sites related to the Berlin Wall and the Cold War. It just makes this music all the more poignant.
What an amazing talent he was, I loved his music so thank you for reacting to this excellent song and performance.
Still til this day....I miss him terribly. This brings on the tears every time. R.I.P David! ✌
My sister bought this album. This song die hard hooked me on Bowie❤😂😢❤
Love this performance and his classy look! Make sure you tell people to subscribe to the channel in the beginning!!
One of the best live concerts ever. Spot on performance!!😁🇬🇧
Bowie's such an important artist. I'd love to have you check out Young Americans, from his R&B/Soul influenced album of the same name. There are so many great Bowie songs as well: Life on Mars, Suffragette City, Golden Years, Somebody Up There Likes Me, The Man Who Sold the World, Rebel Rebel, Let's Dance, I can go on and on.
David Bowie and Brian Eno "Warszawa", from the album Low (1977) -solid soundscape!
Such a great choice! Live from Glastonbury. His rapport with the audience, charisma... RIP, beautiful David.
RIP to the Thin White Duke
It's in Berlin.
Which adds to the," I felt that!".
Bowie was just a special performer. I'm bummed I never seen him live. I remember he lived in Berlin for a couple of years in the 70s trying to sober up. Really glad you reacted to this one, chills!
Buddy the old grey whistle test, has a good Bowie session,
The Old Grey whistle test, is a treasure trove
One of my legends and so glad we saw him in concert Sydney Australia, 2004. " Fame" ft John Lennon.
" Panic in Detroit" from Aladdin Sane album
Awesome. Saw Bowie at MSG many moons ago. Legendary performer.
Sometimes I forget that the younger generation hasn't known a world where there's a wall between East and West Berlin and they don't know the difference it made. It made a difference when people from our side went over to the other side too provide entertainment to them. That's why most of our musical legends were always playing in Berlin if they could. This is also a generation that's never heard the term the iron curtain. That's a Russian thing you'll have to read up on it. Peace!
exactly
Another great Bowie performance is 'Under Pressure' in Dublin, 2003.
Hi, Bowie had many masterful songs, a particularly funky one is Stay, I would recommend a review, cheers from Glasgow, Scotland 🎉
I second that suggestion.
Yup it's funky, great choice. Greetings from New Mexico, USA
The live version of Heroes as performed on the 1983 Serious Moonlighr tour is something to check out. The Montreal concert version is especially good as is the whole concert. The audio is available on UA-cam.
CANNOT express to you just how sick the performance of that entire album is ("Low"). I love it so much.
Oh, to be warned though- the first song is rather weird and don't let it throw you. Keep going....
He was on for over two hours when I watched him on the Reality tour. Simply incredible!! I have him tattooed for about 20 years now just above Iggy Pop. Bowie is my all time favourite artist. His later music was some of his best though often overlooked by reactors. Would love you to react to Where are we now? at some stage. Thanks for this. I have the original tape of Heroes from 77. I played it throughout the late 80's and all through the 90's along with tons of records of course.
Same here...to seeing this show, to him bring my favorite and to having a tattoo in David's honor!
@@brucedillinger9448 excellent! I think Bowie fans are generally pretty hard-core right enough. Still can't quite believe that he's gone. We will always have the music though. Happy New Year 😎
@@emander8340 we will!
❤ Thank you for this video❤😂it is the best version, all verses included, that there is. RIP Starman😢❤
**YAY** WoW **David Bowie** IS a **GloriousGift** sent to this earth from **The StarsAbove** **Chameleon Alien** true **StarMan** **LuvLuvLuvHimForeverInfinity&Beyond** **Thank YOU Shawn** **PixieHugz&LuvzALL**
A song about Berlin, written and recorded in Berlin before the Berlin Wall fell and sung live in Berlin to Berliners...
I like the live version of Station to Station if you want to experience more live Bowie. I saw him live in 1970 when he was a folk singer; he already had a charisma that was physically apparent but he didnt really have the great songs yet way back then but he was compelling (even bottom of the bill as he was).
Suffragette City, studio track. It was a hit for him and it totally rocks hard, plus it's humorous.
♥♥♥Great reaction...thanks to whoever suggested this performance! Yes, blessed😊(those of us who saw him)...I got to see him three times, including once on this tour, it was amazing😊
His personality is just so likeable for me, at least the little I've seen of him. Love when you get a glimpse of that in these live performances. Just to see these artist talk a share a little bit of themselves, uncensored on stage.
I have a tour book of his from the Serious Moonlight tour😂❤its very interesting. Very briefly speaks of SVR. He was a sore spot for Bowie😂. Cool photos in it too.
❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹 Bowie is amazing. Try "Ziggy Stardust", "Changes", "Suffragette City", "Rebel, Rebel", "The Jean Genie", "Underground" and "I'm Afraid Of Americans".
¡Magical !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this has to be my favorite by Bowie ♥♥ You have the baby boomers in the palm of your hand with songs like this
He mentions Standing by the wall, refers to the Berlin wall. Also Lou Reed's album Berlin is tragic but beautiful 🎹💥
Honest to God. The world mourned when he passed. The guy was out of this world.
Station To Station and Blackstar!
Love your reactions! Checked out your reaction list - so many of my favorite songs! Subbed and binge-watching
How does England produce so many great and creative musicians?
YEAH SHAWN, THIS WAS CLOSE TO A 3 HOUR SHOW, IT'S ON DVD 👍😊 R.I.P. ☹TO DAVID, MUSICAL GENIUSSSS, LOST WAYYYYYYY TOO EARLY SHAWN! ☹
Brilliant show. Great reaction x
Crying here
Thank you for this great reaction. My favourite song is station to station live. Please check out
Watch a brilliant cover of this by The Big Push, amazing 😁
Check out the studio version. Great reaction! ❤
This refers to lovers in Berlin, Wall in between them, shots above their heads😢they had no shame in their love. Or something like that. He was in Germany trying to kick the drugs, when he wrote this, if I'm not mistaken.
This song is about overcoming ...This song came out after a long time of struggling to get a control of his drug addition ..... and the many ways in our everyday lives where we can become heroes to ourselves and others
Pretty sure Robert Fripp (King Crimson) was responsible for much of the sound on this track and album, and may have co-produced it with Eno, with whom he has a history of mind-boggling collaboration. Moreover, Mr. Fripp probably provided the aboriginal guitar track. That high angelic drone goes all the way back to their first album, and the song, Moonchild, whereon it hovers from on high. 1969. Birth of Prog.
Wow that’s adds a huge layer of meaning to the video I saw of King Crimson performing Heroes in Berlin maybe 10-15 years ago. They do a great job as well and they project video of the Berlin Wall history. It was probably part of Berlin’s anniversary festival of the “Wall Fall” they have every 5 years (I attended the 30th)
You’ll love it.
@@dcg4mn Thank you so much! That sounds epic. Will seek it out.
This song was in the movie "The Replacements" with Keanu Reeves. Check it out!
Check out his live version of Neil Young's "I've Been Waiting for You."
Great cover by the Wallflowers, Bob Dylans son. Check it out! Love me some Bowie!
One of my favorite songs. Loved him. Check out a song called "Blue Jean" but do the live version from the MTV awards inside a club.
Lovers kissing each one from either side of Berlin Wall before it came tumbling down.
Back in the day my college girlfriend was really into Bowie
I was into The Who and Pete Townshend
The Berlin Wall was nothing compared to Fans of Bowie and Fans of The Who. Like East and West Germany eventually learned, we are all the same, just people who could be heroes, if just for one day.
My personal favorite Bowie track is called RICOCHET although I'm not sure if there is an available live version of it. I'll check.
I saw him at the Tacoma Dome in 1983.
Say Rock Star 3times.
In Berlin btw
If you get the chance, Moorhead does an interesting cover of this song.
Bowie and his mighty band
I checked which Bowie reaction you have done to find some great live versions for you:
TIME (live 1973) - peak early Bowie, great display of the theatricality he brought to the rock scene then
ua-cam.com/video/V1miHXIYz7I/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
THE HEARTS FILTHY LESSON(live 1996) Louder than the Bowie incarnations you have been reacted to so far: ua-cam.com/video/Du0NKjx_KCU/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
UNDER PRESSURE (live 2003) The Bowie/Queen collaboration, here with his bassist singing Freddie Mercury’s part: ua-cam.com/video/U_h_qKX8dwY/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Nothing is Perfect by Metric, music video request plz 😊
The song is ok. Everybody on UA-cam reacts to the live version completely missing the point of why it's a classic: the studio techniques that were used. Specifically on the vocals.
though its one of Bowie's best known songs in my opinion it has very weak lyrics..
love this Reaction! I saw Bowie on the Glass Spider Tour and the Sound & Vision Tour, just loved him and his band
