      @@GBear You are right! I been remodeling my house over 20 years he he some things just never get done. At least the hornets nest is gone. I had a very large hornets nest on the floor in a closed in car port when the tree fell on the house the contractor got rid of the hornets I was afraid to spray the nest because it was so big, I killed over 100 hornets when I sprayed the room but the nest protected most of the hornets. I was hoping the cold weather would make the hornets hibernate but it never got cold enough that year, in fact our winters in Central Florida been mild for a few years now. I can deal with wasp but hornets are another problem. Thanks for posting your mice patrol I think that's a good way of keeping mice out.

    Hey bear, have you ever tried a non sugar sweetener like agave for your applesauce?

    • @GBear
      @GBear  4 роки тому +1

      No. I don't usually use sweeteners at all, but when I do it is usually pure cane sugar or clover honey.

    • @ronb6182
      @ronb6182 4 роки тому +1

      There is no need to add sugar or sweeteners to apple sauce. The apple is sweet enough. I only buy applesauce without sugar. You can try Red Delicious apples they make the sweetest applesauce. You can add apple juice if you feel you need to make applesauce sweeter. I been eating applesauce all my adult life without added sugar or sweeteners. I learned when my mom became diabetic and she made applesauce without sugar.
      Now you have a reason to sweet wedges of apples it's not applescause. It's a sweet treat. I usually use honey for sugar like in tomato sauce to get rid of the bitter taste. Most people like it and I had Noone dislike my tomato sauce.

    Sweetie, its not what leaks out....it is what can get in.
    My Momma was so tight she could make the buffalo on a nickel pee. She NEVER re-used the lids.
    with you living alone so far from help
    She had an Aunt die from poisoned canned beans.
    It is just not worth the risk especially with you living alone so far from help.

    • @GBear
      @GBear  4 роки тому +2

      Have you ever tried wart remover? You are such a worry-wart! Lol.
      Logic says it there is a leak, it works both ways. I suspect the problems you mentioned most likely are from processing mistakes, not leaks.

    • @ronb6182
      @ronb6182 4 роки тому +1

      Yeah I heard it all DO NOT...
      I also heard you cannot reuse applesauce jars and lids HOG WASH! If you ever reused an applesauce jar and tighten it just try opening it when it's sealed, it is so well sealed it will take a pair of channel locks to open it. Canning just takes common sense make sure the lid and top of the jar is clean. Also make sure the lid is pulled down by a vacuum seal. The center of the lid will be pulled down if it's sealed properly. That also goes with comercial canning lids as well. Most canning lids make a ping sound when it's sealed. The applesauce lids don't make any noise when they seal.
      I never reused canning lids because of fear but I always knew that applesauce type of jars and lids seal very well over and over.
