Since you asked at 11:40 about tsunamis effecting the ocean floor, yes they do effect the floor, but it obviously depends on the depth of the ocean ~150m below 0 the oceanfloor gets absolutely ripped apart with giant amounts of sand beeing lifted into open waters and creating a dense fog of grains of sand making it impossible to see further than about 1 m. Some not that stable reefs can also be destroyed with corals beeing ripped apart. Also most tsunamis originate from underwater earthquakes or underwater volcano eruptions or even asteroids(or spaceships) hitting the water, the first two possibilities mentioned do of course effect the ocean floor the same way as they would do on land. So if the "Guardian Leviathan" is living higher than 150m below 0 it definitly would be effected by the tsunamis them selves but since it is living in the depths, it probably wouldn't even notice a mega-tsunami with 100m tall waves originating from a meteroid/spaceship crash with much mass (since f=m*a the mass of the object hitting the water defines how high the waves are, the speed of the object doesn't matter that much since the atmosphere slows objects due to friction down to an always similar speed) but it would probably notice underwater earthquakes and volcano eruptions. If there are any grammar/spelling mistakes, please don't hate me, i'm German and i'm not the best in English...
Also dont forget how it can pull back the ocean miles/kms away from the shoreline before actually reaching the coast. so yea it does deffenitly near land effect it in a big way also.
I really like the guardian leviathan $80 design, especially because imagine you go into the lost river and all the sudden get snared and eaten whole by a creature with thousands of legs. EEEEUUUUUGHHHH no.
To answer your question Aci, absolutely Tsunamis affect the ocean floor! Tsunamis originate when the entire column of water above the seafloor is uplifted or dropped down. Unlike wind waves, they are driven by gravity. As a result, their speed is only a function of how deep the water is-the deeper the water, the greater the gravitational potential energy and the gravitational acceleration. The base of a tsunami wave can cause massive seafloor displacement, sediment erosion, and topography shift as the energy from the wave moves across it as well as shifting tectonic plates. Just as well the existing seafloor topography can affect how strong and tall a tsunami becomes. It can also cause damage to marine ecosystems, coral reefs, and displace wildlife on all levels from surface to sea floor.
The 80$ one yes That needs to be in subnatica!!!! Also am I the only one that thinks in looks a bit like a sea turtle crossed with a millipede? (The fins) I had ideas for that laviafin and what I imagined would look like. Also how cool and tariffing would it be if the Gardena could crawl on the roofs of caves!
Artist 1's renditions of the guardian leviathan remind me a lot of something very Dunkleosteus-like, and as a huge prehistory nerd I love that. The 4th artist's biter was really awesome, and I love the idea of a leviathan that can put out ink.
Technically tsunamis were a thing in 4546B because majority of was land before the extinction event killed off majority of the fauna and flora. And Tsunamis are causED from earthquakes by tectonic plates and faults colliding against each other, so the ocean floor would be affected from the quakes themselves. Although if the tsunami is sever enough it may affect landscapes above land that then turned underwater before the events of Subnautica.
I am legit dumbfounded at how amazing these lower cost artists are at their craft. Of course the higher price are also wonderful but you expect that a bit more in the over $100 range. But for twenty bucks you can get some really cool art
I love the creatures with the electro shock creatures, having those in the deep void oceans would be so scary because your lights would go out and all you could see would be some crazy monster
Oh wow, these are absolutely incredible and I hope to see some of them in the mod. I think combining some of the aspects would work well too, like using the last biter concept but with the added translucent tentacles attached to the fins from the previous one. I love the colour schemes of both Biters too, so I'm not sure how that could be combined xD The Guardian being super heavy and staying near the sea floor makes so much sense, and it's really cool. Thanks for the Awesome video Aci and if any of the artists see this, absolutely well done, you each genuinely have spectacular talent and your concepts are beyond incredible!!! Thank you!!
I just found your channel and binge watched all your creature concept videos, I love seeing the concepts artists come up with, and your videos on them, thanks for making them!
A Tsunami is caused by like a underwater earthquake so yeah the biter leviathan would have to deal with quakes. Keep Making this amazing vid's good Job!
Bro seeing the third artists leviathan crawling around would’ve been so cool and would fit perfect in the Subnautica caves in the lost river, to see the second one would be nice to see in the void but we already have the ghost leviathans there. The first one just looks so cool I think it would be a really good idea but I personally feel like it was too bulky so I think they should make them longer and just a touch bit shorter but this is just my opinion
For the drawing at 14:00 in the video I like to imagine that those small arms are actually only a fraction of the whole arm. In my mind this leviathan is able to extend its arms from their sockets and the rest of the length of the arms are actually tentacles.
The most dangerous thing about the start of a tsunami is the earthquake that causes them. It's not as dangerous as the full grown wave that hits the shores, but it does affect the ocean floor.
For the biter-concept that was so similar to the ghost leviathan, maybe as a finish-attack it could swing its front fins and grab you with the tentacles to eat you up afterwards. Seeing that happen in the void would be so epic imo!
My favorite is the last concept of the guardian leviathan. I’m not sure about the Biter tho, the last one would be cool if the colors weren’t so… vibrant, but that is something that they can easily change. They were all amazing.
This art is super cool and comparing some to the fossils you see in game are very similar. (Also tsunamis do affect the ocean and it’s wildlife and can destroy lots of things in its path like on land)
It would be cool if the biter leviathan would excrete ink when startled, or when trying to hunt something down, and if it realizes you are near, it’ll electrocute anything nearby, and send electricity through the ink, and if you get shocked, it will hurt you if you aren’t in a vehicle, and it will shut down any vehicle, or tech, and you must wait a second for normal tech to reboot like your sea-glider, or other things, but you must forcefully fix, or reboot your vehicles, and when they are shut down, it can damage you in that time, and your vehicle could flood.
my idea for the first one: judging by the strong short fins, i say it waits on the bottom of the oceaon and pushes the t to jump upword at it's victims. my idea for the second one: it grabs your cyclops with it's tenticles so you can't escape, and obviuslly it would fit in the void.
tsunamis are most commonly found around the ring of fire as a cause of earth quakes. we know that subnautica is placed on a dying crater of a super volcano, so yes there would most likely be earthquakes. also, the harsh currents would affect population of shallow water creatures. fun fact, a super volcano gone dormant could in theory be home to an ecosystem given the right circumstances. thanks to many creatures in below zero, we can infer that the ecosystem was manly pioneer species and migratory species that evolved.
Modders after seeing all this fan art: it’s free real estate Edit: also if I saw the second artwork in the game I would call it the Phantom leviathan. I know it’s already based off the biter leviathan skull but I think phantom leviathan sounds cooler
Idea for the 25 dollar Guardian Laviathin concept 1. The Laviathin would quickly pull in its tail, causing the bone plates (is that what there called? I have no idea so someone reply and help me out) to quickly collide and create an underwater shockwave that sends a sea month spinning out of control and would knock back a PRAWN suit. There could also be a huge version that could knock back a cyclops.
Tidel waves and tsunamis effect the sea floor similar to wind on land, the force of the wave changes the currents and ruins reefs and kicks up sand. Like how wind kicks up leaves and sand storms.
8:10 these are actually really good for the price (or honestly, any price, very good) this is pretty much what id always imagined it to look like Edit: the dark blue one, and the yellow one are my favorite. 9:50 love this one too, the idea of fins, that are also tentacles, is GREAT. Doesnt look like it fits the biter skeleton, but its still a great design.
The last concept I think would be in a sub biome for the lost river like the ghost tree a seperate area of the lost river maybe around lava zone entrances with a dark blue or black fog thats just like the normal green lost river fog for but the leviathan is hiding inside and would shoot jets of ink out and maybe grab you, your seamoth, prawn or cyclops with its tentacles if you get to close
for the first one around 9:10 , maybe someone already said this but it'd be cool if it used its tail to slam the ground, throwing sand up and making the water cloudy, and while you're blinded it attacks you.
If they were ever to add a swampy-ish environment or like lakes or rivers I think that final concept for the biter would fit perfectly inside that biome. Maybe it’s just the textures of green but it definitely reminds me of a swampy creature reminiscent of an eel and catfish with its electric powers and whiskers. Infact this creature actually looks quite a bit like the amp eel Atleast in the face. And the artist gave it electric powers anyways so it would fit evolutionarily speaking.
Tsunamis are like an earthquake, flying debree, chockwaves, collapsing stuff, exc, so tsunamis do cause damage underwater, sometimes destroying whole ecosystems!
The $80 is by far my favorite. The legs are super cool! Though it's a bit short. If i remember correctly, the logs from the game imply that the actual thing was much longer, and that's simply the only part of the skeleton that's still visible. I think you should've included the game logs somewhere in the commission.
I think for the first guardian, because it has a alot of armor and so many fins it could ram into your Cyclopes or your sea moth at high speeds as well as do massive damage with a powerful bite
The second leviathan, mayby freezing abillities? Like if its close, you slowly get colder... and colder... till you to slow to react... AND IT ATTACKS!!!
I think you should make a subnautica base competition in your server. People could take screenshots of bases and send them in for contests, and the winner would get nitro or sum. You could also do this for different survival games, such as grounded or the forest.
For the leviathan at 9:28 in the video it would be awesome if they were rivals to the ghost leviathans and when you get ambushed there’s a huge chance that this leviathan also shows up to start fighting the ghost bois too. Also in my opinion a submarine as awesome as the cyclops should have more weapons than some pathetic torpedos. If it’s not too much work the creators of the return of the ancients mod could add laser turrets where the cameras are so you can more easily fight off leviathans or even go out hunting them for some extra fun. The ammo for the turrets could be 0.5% battery/energy per shot.
Tsunami’s affect the ocean floor because that’s where they start. The tectonic plates move and cause them to occur, meaning they affect the ocean floor
In fact when you think about it the waters of 4546b are sort of anomalous. Our own moon has a measurable affect on the tides of the ocean due to gravity and it is much smaller and further away than the moon of 4546b to the point where eclipses become a shockingly common occurrence. Ranking them from worst to best. 9:giant biter. Overshadowed by gargantuan leviathan. 8:guardian leviathan. Same thing as giant biter just cooler. 7:sea treader. I hardly ever see them in the game and there cool but I just like the others better. 6:reefback. Ghost leviathans feel far larger and reapers feel more aggressive. But I still love him. 4:ghost leviathan. I’m not a big fan of juvenile ones but gosh, in the void, they are absolutely TERRIFYING!!! They feel like the biggest creature alive in the game and they are nightmare fuel. 3:reaper leviathan. The scariest leviathan. Despite being the smallest hostile leviathan, he feels the most aggressive and dangerous of them all. When you hear his roar you feel terrified quickly. And he is definitely no fun to find early game. 2: sea emperor. This isn’t just a leviathan. It’s a character. I love the sea emperor because it is absolutely peaceful even though it’s nearly double the size of the second largest living leviathan. It’s just a dying mother who has their species going nearly extinct who wants your help to hatch her children to have lives of their own. It’s amazing! 1: gargantuan leviathan. Even though you never see it alive in the game, it is one of if not the best and scariest leviathan. Its potentially multiple times larger than the aurora ship itself and seeing people mod this character into the game makes my heart drop. Ghost leviathans looks like insects in comparison to those giant beasts. I never want it in the game but at the same time I do.
The biter is certainly a leviathan, considering leviathan is a size classification and nothing else. And its bigger than some of the leviathans we see in the games. (They could easily swallow a sea treader whole)
I'm not sure where the Suggest this but I would really like if return of the Ancients adds more non-predatory leviathans it would make the world feel more lifelike and not a giant monster fest
I think the sandy Guardian Leviathan could be in the dunes, the teal in the blood kelp zone, the dark blue one in the void, and the faint blue one in the lost river!

Tsunamis do effect the sea floor. Because the water gets pulled up by the Tsunami and with it sea live and plants. I think. Love your videos. :)
11:11 its just perfect
The biter is certainly a leviathan, considering leviathan is a size classification and nothing else. And its bigger than some of the leviathans we see in the games. (They could easily swallow a sea treader whole)
I love this series! this video is gonna be fun!
If another video like this is done it would be cool to see you requesting artists to make some ambush predators or even carnivorous plant leviathans.
I think a good ability for the guardian would be all its amoured plates would go out like a frill and it would charge at you with deadly force
3:34 - epic chicken!
I'm not sure where the Suggest this but I would really like if return of the Ancients adds more non-predatory leviathans it would make the world feel more lifelike and not a giant monster fest
no, tsunamis actually affects the floor, because water movement and the loose sand and stuff
well tsunamis bring debre that can damage ocean life
(your welcome aci and i love your videos)
You said there's no tsunamis in subnautica but remember, the world is an active volcano, seismic activity could have caused them
i can see all of those creatures glitching in to lost rivers walls
I absolutely loved the third one. The first one was great too, but oh my god the third one.
Jovenart123's idea of having the Biter Leviathan release ink? Scrap it. Instead, have the creature release BRINE.
Yes,Tsunamis can hapen in few things, like, underwater rock sliding, and when wave is fod it could dyesotated fish in real life
I can’t be the only one who thought the guardian was a digging creature that just reserfaced with most of its body still underground
Super nice vid keep up the good work! How many times are you streaming?
2 times a week. Thursday 5:30pm GMT. Sunday 1pm GMT.
Twice a week!
I'm changing my stream times soon, but it's on Thursdays and Sundays!
the one at 10:52 was dope
It does affect the sea floor because of the amount of water displacement ripping up the sea bed
To answer your question yes tsunamis create currents which can damage the sea floor
I think the sandy Guardian Leviathan could be in the dunes, the teal in the blood kelp zone, the dark blue one in the void, and the faint blue one in the lost river!
And the ghost Biter could be far in the void!
The Pill Bug Guardian would be perfect in both the crash zone and the dunes.
The last creature reminded me of the sea emperor and sea dragon. Maybe that’s why it could have been in the disease research facility?
I think the sea draws back before a tsunami and after that it hits, so the Safe Shallows should be affected too
It would be dope to see a video where you commissioned artists to design vehicles and tools and the like
Well considering tsunamis are the result of intense movement of tectonic plates I am pretty sure they do affect the ocean floor.
I want my man Aci to make plushies.
Those last two are iconic
