If anyone is still wondering whether they shall upgrade from the JBL GO to the GO 2, or you are wondering which one of these two you shall get, well, it is worth upgrading your GO to the GO 2 and yes although the GO is cheaper, just go for the GO 2, I own both of them. Here's my honest and real review. The GO 2 has more clarity (better highs), it's a lie that it gets muffled when playing music on max. The bass is just about the same (if we are talking about what we can hear), but if you hold it it feels way cooler since the passive radiator creates this sick ass immersion for deep bass. Even when you just listen to music on it you can tell there is a bit more bass but holding it, oh boy. The GO 2 is waterproof, so you're good to go in any situation. Overall I think the GO 2 is worth it and you shall upgrade from the GO 1, that's what I did, and guess what? I do not regret it! Well I hope this was helpful to at least 1 person. I do not force anyone to do anything, you choose what to do, I'm just giving some advice from an audiophile who loves bass's perspective. Have a good day/night and thank you for reading. I like the go2 because i already bought it, just before listening to this video. I don't want to disappoint myself.
I also bought the Go, to compare. The Go sounds a bit lighter/higher than the Go2, which seems to have more bass. Perhaps that my hearing misses some of the high tones but I have slight preference for the Go, now that I can switch between them. I must admit that the Go(2) sounds remarkably good for such a small and relatively cheap device.
I got the feeling go2 sounds better.

@Super-Gaming John How is the Go2 louder? You cant turn the volume up past your phone volume. With the Go1 you can turn your phone volume to max then keep pressing the volume on the Go1 speaker to go louder.

Well it depends with your preferences. Go is natural sound with decent bass. Go2 is like 3d sound.

Original GO sounds more natural - GO2 mids sounds more muted.
That's why some people use it in studio recorder.

Though it is best to hear the speakers directly, from this test I hear that Go 2 has a bit more bass, but there are some exaggerated high frequencies (somewhere between 5 and 7 khz) that I don't like. The JBL Go has all around louder high frequencies, but they are balanced out pretty well making the sound more pleasant for me. (btw only the song from the 4th minute or so is relevant as the other ones seemed to be played in different volumes).

Go 2 have passive radiator and Go have bass port. passive radiator does make more bass than bass port.

JBL Go2 gets muffled when you turn up maximum volume. When it comes to JBL Go you can feel the sound quality.
Kenneth Sing it's same with the jbl go, at max vol it starts to sound shit, not bad but distorts the sound. Needs to be at the right volume to sound good

dude...in our place...the jbl go is 17$ while the Go 2 is 22$ and I'll say 5$ is quite worth it for a water resist feature, louder and more bass...

iether way both these speakers are good enough, a cheap alternativ to bring to the beach or whatever, if you loose one, it isnt the end of the world. a cheap and good enough for the buck speaker.

Crappy unfair comparison. You have to set the sound levels equal. Always the louder one sounds faulty better.

So: this test is fair comparison only if you want to compare soundLEVEL. To compare soundQUALITY is something completely different. So it IS a crappy unfair comparison. You can only compare soundQUALITY properly when setting both speakers to the same sound level using a reference test tone, before starting the recording. BassLEVEL and SoundLEVEL are important for many posters here I guess, and that's OK, but QUALITY is not quite the same thing. Of coarse for real QUALITY you need to pay more and get yourself another speaker(pair) and not judge and choose it based on some lo-fi UA-cam recording. But both JBL GO2 and JBL GO deliver lot's of listening fun for a very very friendly price. I like my JBL GO.

@@MegaSafetyFirst When comparing two speakers, play a 1 kHz test tone and measure the volume level with an smartphone app(there are plenty). Adjust the volume so that both play at the same volume level, then it would be a fair comparison.
