I feel for these guys. 86- awesome show to lose to BD. OK, 87 fantastic show to lose to Garfield recycled hits. Nobody really remembers/talks about 87 garfield, nobody would have forgotten an 87 SCV championship show!
87 Garfield show was all new for them, not recycled . And to this day, people still talk about the dissolving company front. 86 BD was a recycled show, having done it twice before.
@@ryant8424 Blue Devils, 98.4. They won Brass, Visual, Percussion, GE trophies. Cadets, 97.7, won the short-lived High Music trophy and Best Guard. Anything else?
@@megafonzie5541 Yeah, not to mention that the Cadets scored the first ever perfect percussion score in 1987. People most definitely still talk about that line. There's a whole video on UA-cam with Tom Aungst talking about the '87 line. (Thom Hannum was still the caption head that year.)
SC was very good for this time of the season. I was judging percussion analysis at this show. Those were the days.😎
There was Field, Ensemble and GE. Which one?
@@ImVee10 PA became ensemble later.
@@xkmendlt4290 No, “judge,” there were 10 points for ENSEMBLE Visual, Brass and Percussion, 1984-1987 & 1990-1993 inclusive.
@@ImVee10 Ensemble or analysis same basic caption. Maybe we had already changed to ensemble by then. Long time ago…..😳 WTH
The night that kept BD from a perfect winning season.
My band director was in the pit for this show
Hey, so was I. The blond dude.
Well, basically everything about that opening number changed at least a little.
S.C.V.'s brass of the 80's were "animals" . . . . you can see the teeth in the bell of their horns ! !
Interesting stoppage just before the end of Festive.
The last time scv marched premier and paiste
