How to build a Koi pond

- This was my first attempt at making a Koi pond, in which turned out to be a great success! Please be sure to like and subscribe for
more content and updates on my pond.
The length of my pond is 10.5" --- The width is 5" -- And the depth is 3.5", however one side is 3" deep, and the other side is 4"deep because of the slope. The pump stays on 4" side it helps the pond stay clean. The pond consists of 1375 gallons of water, which is approximately /5204 litres.

This is a great step by step video. I don't know why some people give such horrible comments. for me personally I don't like this standard shape. mine is against a fence like yours but I've made mine like the shape of a number 8. but with a straight edge along my fence side. and a 4 stage water fall. and I would and have hidden my filters behind a little brick enclosure. but your pond is beautiful and we all like our own personal shape pond. your coloured lights look fantastic. well done and thanks for sharing your video 👍🐡🐳🐟

U r using black plastic sheet can i put tiles it is good or bad plz tell me the pros n cons to using tile🔥🔥🔥
Depends how big you are planning to build it if it’s small no problem but if its big then better put liner & it’s much cheaper than tiles , thanks

MaashAllah koi fish are beautiful, they can live up to 35 years if taken good care of
Koi if looked after properly have an average life expectancy of 50 years. The worlds oldest koi lived to 219 years old.
Great vid. thanks. Only trouble is you will all get so attached to them, so that when you lose one its such a big deal. Well done, no pun intended.

Good effort. Shame you didn't incorporate a bottom drain and in pond inlets to the build, that would have been nice. But good effort for you first build.

Don't want to sound annoying, but I think there are to many fish, koi can grow very large.

I will definitely move some fish when there size is about 1---1.5 foot, now most of them are 6--8 inches or less ! Thank you for the advice

sorry to have to say but should have put a bottom drain in and also filter will not be big another as you feed more food & fish get bigger plus fit a UV LIGHT, my friend everyone as to start somewhere but welcome to the hobby if you get the bug then there be no stopping you happy ponding

This is my first attempt and I found bottom drain is little bit difficult for me and I spoke to few koi dealers they told me you didn't have to put bottom drain
I have two filters one with uv light bioforce revolution 6000 18w uv. An the other one with K1 media. Ur right I am hooked to this hobby now.. thank you very much for your comments

Great job, but if i may tell you, it should have been higher from grond level at least 2-3 feet.
Why ? be ware of the little children. And you can sit next to them.

But you have to think about your garden first , if it's small garden it's better to lower pond , than you don't lose your garden size also I will put a safety net on top when visitors come my kids have grown up .

Beautiful job but a death trap for anything that falls in there i.e. mice,rats,cats ect. could put some kind of ramp for them to climb out ..... ;-)
