Makes me think of young me running through old stores such as Toys R Us, Ames, thrift stores, and local grocery stores where everyone I went to church with worked/shopped at. Just an innocent world where you didn't worry if the person next to you was evil and dangerous.
After hearing this in a mix by the name of 'R E P T I L I A N TV' this song always wrenches at my heart, and in a way makes me want to have a better understanding of the decades of the 80's and 90's because it seems like the world was truly different at that time without the drama of our modern world, in a way it feels nostalgic even though I will never fully expieriance those two decades.

This brings back my childhood of early 2000s, even though I know the song is quite older. Where I’m from, it was (and still) common to play 80s music on radio and movies on tv. Just me being 10 y.o. chilling at my grandma’s house in a small village in summer, surrounded by nothing than forests and fields, and ofc my radio and tv, I miss these days!

I discovered this song back in 2016 via its original uploader R E P T I L I A N TV, I comented here back then and I keep coming back every now and then, hearing this song is kind of like sitting in the busy lobby of a comercial high rise building in the late nineties, kinda like the original WTC, while everyone is going about their busy lives you just wandered there for no particular reason and is just enjoying the feeling of being there, you see people walking in and out through the glass doors, vanishing inside a crowded elevator going to the higher floors, all of them wearing suits either carrying a suitcase or backpack, some talking away on their phone, the receptionists sitting at their desk are busy as well, directing people and typing away on their computers while some stare at their crt monitors reading something, some using those weird tinted magnifiers over the screen, just city life taking its course while you sit there and enjoy the comfort of the cool ac air while hearing the smooth jazz on the background with the sound of someone typing away on one of those old computer keyboards with the occasional "ding" of a nearby elevator

this song's really, strongly nostalgic in an uncomfortable way like getting dragged to some dingey clinical office with feaux-wood paint walls and ugly washed-out, off-turquoise tile floors when you were a kid
START LIFE
this song has an uncanny ability to bring back a slideshow of good memories and dreams from all throughout my life, it's a weird feeling how close it all feels despite how long ago some of it was. it's like windows to different worlds frozen in time, the only part that makes me sad is that they can never be real again. and as someone who's been slowly recovering from severe depression, it's nice to note that despite most of my life being pretty tough and filled with hard times, i have so many good memories and eras of my life i miss despite never being particularly well off or stable in most of them, even during my worst years, that i now realize i've actually had a pretty good life after all, even if it doesnt feel like it sometimes. its nice knowing that no matter how much a year is sucking, there will still be parts of it that you'll miss in the future, and all you have to do is realize you're in one while its still real. most prominently it makes me think of the person i was then, and the defining things in each era that influenced the people that i and my loved ones were then and are now, age both physical and mental then and now, and the interactions and events that have shaped us along the way. it also makes me a little sad, knowing i can never be those versions of myself again, and i'll never spend time with those versions of my loved ones again. i'll never again be the 22 year old version of myself feeling invincible and on top of the world after a particularly tough hike and rock climb to see the sunset from a cliff near lighthouse point, relive the endless sleepless nights of my young adulthood well spent with my best friends, help some of those friends finally bloom as people, discover and explore cannabis or psychedelics for the first time again, or run errands with my young mother again. it makes me feel that way because even though i believe we're all better versions of ourselves now, i still miss those iterations for all of their good, and even some of their bad. it makes me realize how important many things that either i took for granted at the time, were too seemingly mundane to register, or even things that i hated, are to me now. simple walks with friends and family, some long dead, some still alive, some still in contact, some who parted ways long ago. memorable weather conditions, events at school. these are just some of the most surprisingly things impactful to me. it does make me grateful that i have a particularly detailed and complete set of memories that i can remember so vividly, given that it's the only way i can truly revisit those happy slices of times long past. it reminds me that no matter how long my life is, the next "good ol' day" is tomorrow. and that you should live each day with the understanding that this very moment im living right now, something that feels mundane, will some day be the moment that this song or something else reminds me of, triggering another flood of warm memories. it makes me want to live as long as possible, to fill my brain with as many of those memories as i can, so that i can smile because it happened through the tears of wishing it wasnt in the past tense while surrounded with as much love as possible. merry christmas from 2023!
i can just imagine some young kid asleep on the couch hearing this music and having a weird dreamy vision of the twin towers burning and sitting up and thinking "that was weird" and then forgetting about it

this song has an uncanny ability to bring back a slideshow of good memories and dreams from all throughout my life, it's a weird feeling how close it all feels despite how long ago some of it was. it's like windows to different worlds frozen in time, the only part that makes me sad is that they can never be real again. and as someone who's been slowly recovering from severe depression, it's nice to note that despite most of my life being pretty tough and filled with hard times, i have so many good memories and eras of my life i miss despite never being particularly well off or stable in most of them, even during my worst years, that i now realize i've actually had a pretty good life after all, even if it doesnt feel like it sometimes. its nice knowing that no matter how much a year is sucking, there will still be parts of it that you'll miss in the future, and all you have to do is realize you're in one while its still real.
most prominently it makes me think of the person i was then, and the defining things in each era that influenced the people that i and my loved ones were then and are now, age both physical and mental then and now, and the interactions and events that have shaped us along the way. it also makes me a little sad, knowing i can never be those versions of myself again, and i'll never spend time with those versions of my loved ones again. i'll never again be the 22 year old version of myself feeling invincible and on top of the world after a particularly tough hike and rock climb to see the sunset from a cliff near lighthouse point, relive the endless sleepless nights of my young adulthood well spent with my best friends, help some of those friends finally bloom as people, discover and explore cannabis or psychedelics for the first time again, or run errands with my young mother again. it makes me feel that way because even though i believe we're all better versions of ourselves now, i still miss those iterations for all of their good, and even some of their bad.
