- Video of BART ride from Richmond to Fremont on BART's new Fleet of the Future.
BART's new Fleet of the Future rolled out last month in late January on the Orange Line, during off peak hours and weekends.
Recorded on February 20th, 2018.
Thank You for posting this video. I first rode Bart in 1971-72. Ran on discrete logic chips. How time flies.
you’re welcome
And they still do
Between the legacy fleet and the fleet of the future, I really like them both.
Aren't they suppose to expand BART down to San Jose? I heard the high speed rail will have a route that will go from SF to San Jose..
Yes, they are planning to expand BART to San Jose on the East Bay side (Warm Springs), so it won’t parallel CAHSR.
It's planned, yes. Way overpriced, but it's planned.
@@snoopyloopy Actually, BART has already extended into San Jose since this comment was posted. The Berryessa North San Jose stop is within San Jose proper. So you're already wrong with whatever you were implying.
The Downtown San Jose extension is going to break ground soon. It's already in pre-construction now. And yes, like any construction in an area where $104k makes you "low income", it will be expensive. I don't see anyone complaining about construction being "too expensive" in Monaco, even though they have a lower median wage than us.
@@TohaBgood2They said the Silicon Valley Phase 2, Little Portugal/28th street to Santa Clara probably will finish in 2036 due to budget cuts
Santa Clara is no longer supporting Bart to raise money because people are losing trust of Bart due to homeless and bad service so they’re on their own to get 3 billion dollars which I think they will actually get in like 2056
Fully enclosing stations alongside (noisy, smelly and abominably dusty) expressways ought to be obligatory. This is how our forthcoming complementary (suburban) metro is being built.
It's a bit late for these stations. They're close to end of life so they will most likely wait until it's time to rebuild them.

How far does that train goes to and what direction they travel to?
This train runs on the Orange Line of the BART system, which runs from Richmond to Warm Springs/South Fremont everyday.
Now in 2021, the Warm Springs/South Fremont terminus has been extended to a new station in Milpitas, and a new terminus at Berryessa/North San Jose. There are further plans to extend the same lines through San Jose, including Diridon Station, but that's still a long way away.
Hopefully they will have enough cars to run both the Orange line and the green line all the way to Warm Springs at the same time.
yeah that would be nice
🥲😂
These new trains allow for us to see out of the front of the lead car. Just like the old iconic slanted A-Cars. But here we are looking out the damn side window like in one of those whack ass C-Cars.
Eric Young see i would do that but like what if the operator needs to get out in an emergency? also, i like the side view better.
ok i’ll keep that in mind next time i’m on the FOTF train
Also, for the record Eric its not a C car, its a D or E car. Cuz its the Fleet of the Future.
Oh ok. Also malprave, i love ur Trainz BART vids
I didn't see the fact that he said "like in one of those"
Nice video! P.s. - first
thanks!
