One thing I think you forgot to mention was the coach archetype. I would assume Motivator coaches will see a higher progression out of their players than a Recruiter or Tactician. So if I recruit a 65 overall RB and you recruit a 75 overall, but I'm able to see 8-9 points of improvement while you're only seeing 4-5, then by the time they are seniors, my guy who started off lower is going to be better overall than the guy who started higher. This is gonna be part of that rock/paper/scissors effect they talked about. If someone can recruit, but they can't train them, they may have a lower ceiling than the coach who recruits slightly lesser talent but then coaches them up and makes them better.
Those last points imo aren’t really realistic to CFB, just because you WANT or tell a player to go get better at this thing doesn’t mean they even have the capability to do so.
IMO leaving it up to the game to decide is the best thing, because players grow into who they are on their own. That’s why if you want a RB that’s a receiving back you should recruit one who is that or has the skills that you scouted to at least be able to become one in some degree.

I know...I would hope it is more than just a few points every once in awhile though. I want it to be the way we progress in the offseason...but I'll take this for now!
I was hoping for a spring game and summer drills for but and im leaving a sliver of hope they're still in the game but none of the ncaa games had it since jumping to the ps3/360 generation so ill manage but i do want this added next year. And i would want early enrollees to be able to participate in the spring game just like real life and the bigger gains for the underclassmen that has the most productive outing. Maybe they're saving these as surprises but with no mention about them i dont expect them to be in the game.

Spring Game:
If off season training was based on a spring scrimmage where depending on performance your team gets +3 on low end, +8 on high end. or balance between recruiting and training where if you put more into recruiting you pick up a few hours and off season progression is less but if you focus in house, growth is better but recruiting is less bc focus isn’t on outside as much.
What you think?
I would love a spring game in some ways! Maybe not make it too impactful (most aren't) but would be a good opportunity for you to test out players and see if you need players in the summer transfer portal or not!
@@MFFilmRoom If they had a play efficiency system it would be a nice addition to help player execution. Keeping players in system. Having right players in right system
I wonder how often a 2 or 1 star recruit can come with the Elite dev trait. Like how you said a one star at 55 over all but with the dev trait at elite he progresses 15 overall every offseason and is one of the best players in the country by his redshirt junior season.

@@JohnathanWheeler-yq9hj Iam not of big fan of Dev traits, especially bc they are static. None developing mental abilities is a questionable choice to me as well. Also skill upgrades and caps raise alot of questions. We saw an upgrade costs 10 points. Is 10 points going to be something that is one level worth of points or 3 levels? Do higher skill levels cost more points because voaxhes they all look to cost the same amount 5. And essentially it's like max potential, is that going to be tied to dev traits or do all archetypes have the same number of available upgrades?
