he is right, it is a sense of purpose that many retirees need, it is not about the money. Having something to be responsible about, is what keeps life going on. Well done uncle !!
Instead of Covering Up Another Government Failure of not providing adequate Retirement … CNA should do an Episode of Other Government Failures 😊
@@Hs5687why are you so entitled, why can’t you prepare for your retirement?
This is good for elderly, stay at home mothers, disabled people?.. but whats more is you can get to know your friendly neighbours. Why not 😊
Nice idea for those who are not at home but no need to worry about missing parcels. Some people don't go out very often and prefer to stay at home and enjoy a peaceful life. 😊😊
Making Retirees Work at home is Punishment …
@@Hs5687 their choice though
@@destinyhyun
It may be their choice, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it is healthy or efficient. Choices can be inefficient and illogical due to a lack of education or laziness.
if they become collection centre, not peaceful 😅
Singapore really utilized its citizen from young to old. Everyone doing something to move the economy. Even home can be post office.
Very genius if you think about it
No Communist State compulsion. It's all voluntary. Fair deal.
Not forget, Government also Legitimised Organ Harvesting Whilst Holding on to CPF 😊
I heard recently lots of ppl start their own office at home after MCO or circuit breaker era.
good to see he has a system in his house ...looks organized
cents are their profits... shoppee really know how to chop carrot
if you don't want do, there'll always be someone who is willing to. and shopee knows
not worth
I agree that this is possibly the best business tactic which also help save time and effort of delivery personal having to visit unit by unit to send a parcel. But I'd also say that if you purchase VERY personal items like clothes, innerwear, etc. just have it sent to a collection locker or directly to yourself as Shopee prints everything in detail directly on the label. You don't really need your nosy neighbour to see and associate the item with you as a person when you turn up to their doorstep.
thank you for your serviced centered spirit uncle!!
wow nice, I hope one of my neighbor does this too.
Both lockers nearest to my block are situated at far ends, or either that it is always full (esp during sales period).
you can do it
salute to u sir. the sense of responsibility is very commendable
Yes, they may earn very little per parcel, but they know what they are in for when they signed up. And if Shopee pays them more, the item prices will increase. Buyers will then complain since they rather not pay more for home delivery in the first place.
That's super cool idea for retirees.
Maybe turn your home into post office in country side?
What is CPF for ?
@@Hs5687
Poor and lazy people don't have much in their CPF.
20cents per parcel. Don't ask me how I know.
i thought 5 cents? my friend does it too. forgot how much.
Worth the effort meh?
@@raeraetan @raeraetan some like the uncle is out of goodwill. my friend is a legit honest and kind person. but nonetheless, i would still strongly advice not to use real names when buying stuff online. better to err on the side of caution with digital footprint.
@@raeraetan
People with limited financial means often have lower expectations because they haven't experienced a higher standard of living. This is often due to lifelong failures that brought about an offset reality, and it's understandable.
@@NavyBlue2020 never saw it from that viewpoint so thank you.
A great initiative by Shopee that allows retirees, stay home moms and customers alike. It also allows customers to have an option to collect from somewhere nearby knowing that their orders are safe. Under the block collection point may not be reliable sometimes if the facility is not maintained. I had my fair share of experience when Shopee can't leave my parcel at one collection point and had to put my parcel at another collection point which is far away. Well at least now our pioneer generation won't have to work so hard to survive.
3:34 suggest you remove the bell, it's too loud, you wake up the whole neighborhood every time someone rings the bell.
Nice sharing Vidio.. very inspiring and informative.. excellent.. greeting from Indonesian traditonal gold prospecting 🇮🇩❤❤😊
Sometimes I think people who run traffic in hdb flats not so nice to their neighbours lah. eg. a neighbour has a kid service and she has plants all over her side of the corridor, not only insects, then often there is a lot of kid noise and the parents of kids will step all over my side of corridor, sometimes with dirty food attracting ants later as well. hmm..
This shopee has spent too much on advertisements but paid a little to those collection points. Their advertisements came in on almost every webpage.
There are so many spaces on the ground floor of each hdb block everywhere.
Just build a parcel collection locker area on as many blocks of flats as possible and the problem will be solved much more efficiently instead.
Singpost had all the resources to do it. Instead Pick has done it
New job opportunities created. Thank you to HDB and govt for being open minded and flexible.
Kudos for your comments. Currently there are massive missing parcels. Those thieves are those unscrupulous and despicable delivery personnel. Tracking all in order, however parcels were not delivered in particular LAZADA PLATFORM. Untrustworthy at the extreme. No moral value system whatsoever.
@@glennchia1960alamak....
what i hate is that the collection point at my block is always not at home. even when they put up a notice that they will not be around (e.g. 4-6pm) and I went there at 7pm, the house is empty. Out of my 2 experiences, both occasions I had to revisit 3-4 times to collect my parcels successfully. but thankfully i just need to take a lift down to collect my parcels, so each time at most waste ~3 min. but the ones running the collection point definitely need to be more mindful of this matter. its ok if you need to go out, but please be back by the time that you wrote yourself so people dont need to revisit multiple times
OMG the fat cat sooooo cuuute! 😭
Singpost is getting eaten alive.
Very true. And not only Singpost but other logistics company too.
They need to adapt. Maybe their staff can do the same thing from home?
shopee don't even use singpost in the first place
singpost really sucks nowadays when it comes to last mile delivery
I wish they or some delivery company got permission from hdb to do an automated one every few hdb blocks
Some of the residential collection points I experienced are quite rude, why bother running if it frustrates you so much? I rather pay for doorstep delivery and religiously avoid selecting residential collection points.
not only rude, sometime close early, suka2 off 1-2 hr without indicated on apps, example; 1-2pm & 5-6pm canot come, waste people time to go there collect.
especially ruuhi collective @ woodlands!! so rude if don’t want to do then don’t zzz
some people will have huge bulks and place everything outside the house. the packages sometimes go up the ceiling. blocking corridors and walkways. do you want unknown people to come by your neighbourhood sometimes late at night to pick up stuff? recently we even had seafood ordered and packaging thrown on corridor for cleaners to pick up
he hung the bell there for ppl to ring la...datz why annoying
Annoying in his own home?
is not easy to make home as collection point ...every moment ppl will knock on yr door for parcel collect ..and if you have lots of chioces to manage then is not really advisable unless the earnings not bad .
uncle is right!
Shoppee really knows how to exploit and take advantage of bored or poor people. Save so much on warehouse costs but pay peanuts
Copy CCP style, sweatshop pay, sweatshop services.
And really disturb the neighbours of the collection point
Someone here say 1 parcel 20cents. If limit to 50 parcels per day, only get $10 per day, per month average $300. I think okay for retirees to get kopi money. Shopee should limit the drop off and pickup time for residential areas to 8am to 5pm only.
Not worth doing. It's really for those who are at home mostly and need a bit of income, on average is like 20 cents at most for a parcel. With the responsibility, space at your home, and time. Edited: Not to mention you will still get complain or scolding for it.
I believe he has the same thought as you but he doesn't mind as the intended purpose is to spend time to keep himself active.
Strange that someone would complain to shopee. Shopee makes it very painful for you to reach out to them and would usually send you replies using standard templates.
They have this in Australia, but only for bricks and motar stores
Is it true that it’s $0.20 per parcel?
In that case what’s the point of doing it? 20 parcel a day is $4, not only covering your breakfast.
Depends. If they're already home, why not
For retirees, it's not about money, it's about human interaction plus it's free money.
so little money omg lol
It’s one thing to have a meaningful income and another to be exploited. A very thin fine line
@@carnesirit’s just a collection point and low effort.
Nice. Creative.
Imagine the collection point next to your unit.
and plus no delivery fee too then confirm bank accounts will be 📉📉📉 😂
I’ll vomit blood so hard fr cos I can’t stand all the commotion
They can already set up something if they want to, the letterboxes are just below the block. Same for return parcels, can post it below the blocks at the letterboxes instead of having to go to a postal box nearby or their mail retail outlet.
i will report and make sure uncle dont get moe money
They are heroes in my eyes. You need to cater space for things that does not belong to you, and what if 20 of them are super bulky too. 😮
Oh this is good ❤
My shopee collection point. Its a warehouse
I seldom see someone there so they just put a sign and contact number on what 😂to do.
So its an honesty system.
I don't feel secure.....
Wow.
Hopefully one day this feature coming to Malaysia and when I retire I could possible do this job I guess
Wish this were available in the Philippines, I had to rely on other family members a lot to receive the parcel when I'm not around at the moment
Thank you Shopee.
Collection point for neighborhood, some kiasu think toxicity. Uncle just want to. pay his bills and do some workout for his mind. ❤
HDB residential flat is not suited to be a parcel re-distribution center for "Self-Collection". HDB residence is not equipped to be a parcel warehouse for "Self-Collection".
Shopee logistic service should engaged only commercial entity in any HDB neighborhood as selected collection/service point for "Self-Collection".
Shopee should cease all Residential Points operating from HDB residential flats immediately, especially the one located at 321018.
We learn a lesson, so we better not provoke any of our neighbors, u never know who will jarga your parcel next time 😮
This arrangement promotes social harmony 🎉
Avoid like plague after two wasted visits where no one was home during opening hours.
I wonder whether it affects the neighbours that there is more foot traffic and ringing of doorbells. Maybe minor?
I might consider this as a side hustle
so cute!
I see my neighbour’s living room being taken over by parcels though, I think it’ll cause mental stress and loss of privacy. That said my neighbour is an insurance agent and uses it to get traffic , so good for him
Is this legal?
Just wondering if it's allowed under HDB's conditions point 2 and 3; There must be no advertisements, signages or posters displayed at the flat.
No extraneous traffic should be introduced to the site nor should there be any adverse impact to the neighbourhood and the living environment, such as, noise, smoke, smell, litter, effluent or dust nuisances or danger posed to surrounding residents.
U know better than Shopee panels of lawyers huh
Wannabe HDB police spotted.
Please bring these points up. It is so annoying to have random strangers constantly passing by, make so much noise yapping away, and I don't even know if my own orders are safe to be left til I'm home, because anyone can pass by and take. It's just damn annoying. Seriously I hope there are enough complaints to shut these collection points down
Good for neighbours to know each other., even by sight..😅
i went collect parcel but no one home .2 times is enough ..now delivery to doorsteps better
Rather pay extra for delivery right to my doorstep than to face rude collection point sellers who also do not adhere to opening hours
Interesting option for when I retire... Any idea how much they earn per month?
In the comments say 5$ a day.
0.3 per parcel
I really hope people don't miss use them to safe keep illegal items...
How to safekeep illegal items when the items are bought from Shopee? That will mean Shopee is selling illegal stuff.
Like what?
Shhh
why CNA not reporting their earnings per parcel?
30 cents
@@movingupalways horrendous rip-off
@@cheny6489 drop-off point is free for customer. So understandable that Shopee pays so little.
@@cheny6489 agreed . 😂😂😂😂😂wat a joke
It's so low that they don't dare to say it on the video. I read the news article. They stated If you operate a collection point that distributes up to 900 parcels a day, you could earn up to S$5,400 monthly. Which is like 27000 parcels a month. So is like 20 cents at most for a parcel.
If you want to do shopee neighbors home is fine. But errr maybe instead of using that old classic doorbell. You might willing to try to use new doorbell name "Ring" wired with camera. So that you automatic knows the customer is coming
...i dont think my house can do this at the moment ...my children would attack every package hahahaha, but good for the fellers who are doing this
how much does one earn per month? was really curious..
clever
Introvert me just pays the full $1.99 doorstep delivery
Or there's Pick Lockers too 😂
shopee! please launch this Shopee colection point in indonesia
The one near me only open Monday - Thursday 10am - 6pm… have to work and not able to collect at all…
Can take back Sentosa to build HDB?
houses should really be treated for normal staying, not do funny things like having traffic of people in and out. If you want to run businesses, should be light ones, eg.no construction (encounter one knocking up parts in his house), heavy use of electricity (eg. catering, bitcoin causing electricity sufficieny issue), traffic (with people coming and going). I think there is a limit for people staying in a house eg.6 or something I forgot, so should not keep having these strangers flocking all the time.
niceeeee....create more jobs for the stay at home...
Is this allowed under HDB scheme ?
How much is enough is so subjective. Some find the rewards low while others find the reward is enough. It differ from person to person.
The main drawback of this service and job is those who take it up they will hardly have a chance to go out of their houses at all.
Usually those that take up these are already home most of the time
What about the security of the parcel? How does Shopee ensure these smaller operators do their job properly? E.g if parcel is damaged how does he protect himself etc
Simple, standard singaporeans way, complain lor. Then shopee come down and check. They will also check parcel before handover
HDB BTO....A REALLY BAD BAD 99 YEAR HEADACHES🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So, merely earn 20cents to process a parcel and clog up the whole house everyday? How to go away for short trips? Its too cheap and too good for platforms
many cases that things like shoes or others outside the houses are lost due to many strangers and delivery come and go. I recall that HDB law dont allow many human traffics' business in HDB
Anyone knows how to do this?
This advertisement is sponsored by Shopee.
Very messy?
GOOD.....HDB BTO.....COLLECTION HOMES🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍2M
Many doing
Is it legal? My neighbor upstairs turn his flat into 24/7 warehouse 😥 At least he finished work at 9pm. Imagine your neighbor doesn't sleep and carry on his activities as early as 5am and til midnight - 2/3am! Renting from HDB some more! Need to be very careful as some people are very selfish. Hopefully it doesn't increase quarrels among neighbors because imagine they do it 24/7 everyday! No rest day! You cannot imagine the kind of mental stress due to lack of rest and sleep! Keep your fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞
There is opening hours for the collection points too.
@@Slla-th5vt yes. should put the timing to avoid conflicts 👍
This is not actually a job. More like exploitation. Lol
In order to earn up to $5400 a month and each parcel only reward you with only 30 cents each you need to do up to 18000 parcels in a month which is impossible to hit.
Your neighbours will give you hell and your gate wont last at all under this kind of high intensity operation and usage.
Nobody say is a job mah. These people ownself apply to do this
If it is paid then it's a job genius.
@@anglo-saxonconnor817 Yes you are right. What i meant is they who apply for it doesnt see it as a job. They do it out of purpose or bored in their retirement like the uncle. Or spare income cause they rarely leave their house. They dont feel exploited
They don't feel it doesn't mean it isn't exploitation though. It still is.
@@anglo-saxonconnor817 so its about perspective. To you it is, and im just arguing with your perspective. My bad

parker service
Confirm a lot of complains because you're disturbing your neighbors peace. Would you like it if every day strangers will come and collect the parcels and what happens when he run out of place to store? There will a lot of noise generating from the unit and it will affect your neighbor's relationship due to noise disturbance. It's a residential purpose not commercial.
Hdb should consider more auto collection rental space for every 5-10 blocks for retirees to rent.❤
Maybe carpark lot ?
dont understd wats the point of collecting from pop stations or a strangers' home, just send to office if away, or get others at home to receiv?
Just ask my maid do can?
yes
more harm than good. If it's just $5 a days and you lock elderly at home from 10 - 9pm, then not worth it.
Singapore already have
1- Population
2-Ports
3-Banks
4-Logistics
She can simply round all these up and create a smaller eco system of what all these bigger online shopping platforms are doing and a lot of entrepreneurs, smaller size manufacturers and businesses will see a big soar in revenues.
You just need to create a app and build a few big warehouses that look like housing flats but are actually storage and warehouses instead.
But doing so will cause the local physical retail malls to collapse and go check who owns these big malls. All the kakis and relatives of you know who.
They rather swat flies, kill the physical retailing experience and let all the available financial, logistic and postage infrastructure to help others to earn money instead.
The way Shoppee is doing is hurting every logistics company in Singapore. Per parcel rate they pay is so low that most of the local is not willing to deliver for them. Look at their walkers and u should know
MAKE MONEY IN SINGAPORE
SPEND MONEY IN JOHORE🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is a bad idea. I do not want strangers streaming into my building and corridors. HDB should ban homes from becoming business points.
Not in HDB Flat ! Public Housing must not be allowed for such activity ! VTO PAP ! 😅
If I might only love my God and die!
But now He bids me love Him and live on,
Now when the bloom of all my life is gone,
The pleasant half of life has quite gone by.
My tree of hope is lopped that spread so high,
And I forget how summer glowed and shone,
While autumn grips me with its fingers wan,
And frets me with its fitful windy sigh.
When autumn passes then must winter numb,
And winter may not pass a weary while,
But when it passes spring shall flower again:
And in that spring who weepeth now shall smile,
Yea,they shall wax who now are on the wane,
Yea, they shall sing for love when Christ shall come.

Sounds long, until I read the place
Where this is said to be
But just the primer to a life
Unopened,rare, upon the shelf,
Clasped yet to him and me.
And yet, my primer suits me so
I would not choose a book to know
Than that, be sweeter wise;
Might some one else so learned be,
And leave me just my A B C,
Himself could have the skies.
Me! Come! My dazzled face
In such a shining place!
Me! Hear! My foreign ear
The sounds of welcome near!
The saints shall meet
Our bashful feet.
My holiday shall be
That they remember me;
My paradise,the only fame
That they pronounce my name.
