I am so happy that I have been able to listen to Merle seems like all my life. From Rock to Country, from Country to Christian, This man sang it all, if he couldn't, he could. Just impersonate it. He was one extraordinary man. I feel so blessed to have been able to go to one of his concerts in Mississippi at the Casino. Thank you Jimmy Byrd for giving me that ticket. Believe I still have my ticket stub somewhere. If not it doesn't matter, I'll meet you one day in the sweet bye and bye. A true fan, Debbie Jo Ballew Turner. R.I.P. Mr. Merle.
This really hit me. My dad is 91. Recently his best friend died. He sadly said "that's the last friend I had. I don't have any more."
