I always recommend an electric nail file to new moms/parents. Also for anyone weirded out about the nose frida there is an electric one

That exact nail trimmer is everything. Better than going lazy/timid route of mittens which inhibit developmental progress by decreasing tactile abilities. Also those Avent (Natural) bottles are the way to go, just line up the anti colic vent in the nipple to the indentation in the collar for perfect air pressure relief to decrease issues of colic. The texture and density of the natural line of Avent nipple/bottles with their varying flow rates are the best options on the market for bottle feeding. The MAM bottles with the silicone bottom valve are probably the best anti colic pressure design but cleaning up the various pieces are a hassle and not a viable option with a demanding baby that needs their feeding immediately after waking.

The babylist bottle sampler is a superb try. Dr Brown was wastefully all in, then found out the Avent system with the varying nipple flow became the true go to (and Spectra pump flange friendly)

New mom here and I will also share my experience.
    1. Sound machine is nice to have but not really needed.
    2. Great to have but you won’t need for quite a few weeks.
    3. Baby nail file works great as well.
    4. Aquaphor is amazing for diaper rashes. Keep your little one’s diapers dry and a quality diaper to really help prevent the need for diaper rash treatment.
    5. Nose Frida may not work depending on your baby’s size. It was too big for my little one’s nose. Pediatrician suggested waiting until 6 months for the Frida version.
    6. Highly recommend!
    7. I prefer the plastic tubs that go in the kitchen sink. It’s easier on your back and quicker to get baby out.
    8. Get the ones with a bassinet and diaper changing station. It’s only a bit more money, but you will get great usage out of it.
    9. Socks drive me crazy. Will definitely try these out!
    10. This is a great idea! My little one didn’t like Philips so we had to switch to Dr. Browns.

Children suffocate under those 'nursing covers' - with mum or in a carseat/carry capsule. Bad idea recommending it.

@@jadedjourneys do you have data on the number of deaths from nursing covers? I find it hard to believe that your baby would suffocate when you are feeding him/her.

We just had our little girl two weeks ago. We have a few of these items and I’m 100% behind the nose Frida especially, they also have a weak saline solution that helps if there are crusty bits. I WISH we had the bottle box in the U.K. My husband and I are in a battle of Comotomo v Mam, lucky baby takes both but her parents are more picky😅

Not under 50, but I would say if you you can spend 50 more on a stroller that has a bassinet option, go for it! My kid is just shy of 2 weeks old and the Graco Modes Nest has been awesome! We have a cushion for him to sleep on the couch when in the living room, but instead I was trying out the bassinet option. Ended up putting him in there to go around the house while he sleeps when we do dishes, laundry and all that. Yes, we have a video baby monitor and a halo bassinet in the bedroom. But it's just nice to have an option where we don't need to pick him up and put him down or walk across the house to put him down. I'm super happy with that investment.

      Very underpowered
I guess for safety , worked good on very loose runny mucus but the reservoir is so small it’s not worth it. The og nose sucker is better all around. Easier to clean , better seal for suction and control , giant reservoir.

I know there is glass baby bottles, and I know plastic has its pros but do you think glass bottles can be safe and great ?

    • @dadverb
      @dadverb  2 роки тому +2

Knowing how rough our bottles were treated as our littles got older and using it a lot while on-the-go or traveling, I think plastic is better suited for everyday life and I personally think it outweighs the benefits that glass could offer.

When I was pregnant everyone was like oh you’ve got to get a pack and play. When she was small we would just put her in her uppababy bassinet when we where down stair for her nap. Once she was able to sit up and started playing we tried using the pack and play and it was a complete nightmare. My kid hated it, literally cried until we would take her out of there. Luckily for us my uncle gave me the one my cousin used so I at least I saved myself some money in that one.

What works good for some babies, it is a total failure for others.
Instead of buying all these things, perhaps borrow whatever you can, or buy secondhand. Try it first to see if your baby likes it and see if it works for the both of you. If it doesn’t, at least you didn’t spend so much money.
