  • I have a long history with birds and had many species in the past. Never had a bird with a broken wing before though. This was quite an experiment, I was confused on what to do.
    By the by, I decided to keep the bird.

    I think this is a tough learning experience but a really valuable one. Acceptance of how things are does seem to be an equally important option. We can’t fix everything. Sometimes even the lesson is on the creature’s path to accept it and we are simply part of that mutual journey together. I’m on this journey with a lame pigeon (called Faith - due to the same learning… similar injury. ‘Faith’ as we realised that all is actually how it should be.) We are learning and accepting together. Thank you for sharing your very similar story with us. Love to you both.

      Thank you for your wonderful, heartwarming comment. It is true that are things in life we must accept as they are. Its been a year since the birds injury and she has grown to be strong. She also became too attached to me... Maybe too much 😅. I hope you and your pigeon are doing great, take care 😁

    MashaAllah, love the content and the editing in this video is really adding another later to the already engaging story.
    I really empathize with you and looking back at decisions that one made or not realizing that there was a decision to be made at all - it's really tough. As you said however you take what you can and move on.
    I would also like to point out that I don't there is a better place or person to take care of a bird than a place within your care.

      I am glad you enjoyed the video and happy that there is improvement. After any event, All they matter is processing your emotions, reflecting and learning from the experience and then move on. With this new acquired knowledge we hope to do better. Thank you, I will take care of her 😊

    I think you made the right decision not to do the surgery the 2nd time. At the worst...you could keep it until it died of old age.
    I recently found a wild bird at my door step. It was injured & I fixed her wound etc. As an amateur...it didn't occur to me that her wing might be broken. I had her for 2 days now & the Vet nearby is closed. I have to wait for another day to pass. I am feeling so miserable. TQ for sharing your video. I know I have to get her to the Vet asap. (Was thinking of doing it myself with the help of all the tutorials I went through but not brave enough)

      Yeah your right. It difficult to make a sound decision when your in the heart of the trouble, but we must do what we can with our current understanding. The bird is doing fantastic, she is happier than ever and too attached to me. We're taking good care of her. Thank you for saving the bird Marytan and don't worry you did your best, what kind of bird was it?

    My brid was hit by ceiling fan and broke it's humerus bone... I can't decide wether i should go for surgery or should i leave it like that

    • @KhalidAM_
      @KhalidAM_  Місяць тому

      @@phsycosaieen1368 if your vet is confident in doing the operation then I would suggest you go for it. It what I have done. Please take keep in mind that you’ll have to keep the bird in the cage and not let him out. After operations, the bird will have a fixator to keep the bone fixed in its place. It will be uncomfortable but after a month or two it will heal. Take care of yourself and your bird, I prayer for your success

    Hey there,bless you,it is so hard on our emotions & deciding what to do for them the best intrests for them..
    I rescued a jackdaw with a broken wing,i bandaged it & I am no expert..I did not have transport to get to the animal sanctuary nor did they have transport to collect him..I genuinely don't have the money to get it to a vets..
    So I have done the best thing I can,now the skin is growing back over the bone,the jackdaw wing look just like your beautiful parrots wing,the way it drooped..it is still drooping in that way,but now he/she has lost,i think one or two of the primary feathers..I have read up that the feathers grow back how true that is I do not know,obviously birds mault..
    I am just trying to do my best..I am going to take some pictures & email the animal sanctuary & ask there advice..the chap that runs the place is a gem,a true gem..I took a bird to him before..
    Sorry for the ling comment..but your video was the closest I have seen to how the wing looks on my jackdaw..
    I could see this was really & genuinely a hard heartfelt decision for you,don't be to hard on yourself..we learn as we travel our journey in life..
    Thankyou for sharing this with us..Have a blessed day & Take care 🙏🏻💜🤘🏻☮🙏🏻💜🤘🏻☮

    The bird is obviously happy, if not outright ecstatic. It has accepted it's condition. You should stop beating yourself up over this. Amputation at the point of fracture could have been considered, and far less costly! The bird would have adjusted to this, despite limited flying capability.

      @@johnboluski-zl1qn thank you for your kind words. Yes, it has been 2 years and I can say that the parrot is ecstatic. She has fully adapted to her new life.

    Same think happened to my 3 months alexandrine parrot 😢. Hit by ceiling fan and the wings got fracture. When I visited the vet he took him to do xray and suggested to do a surgery. During the examination vet said a piece of bone is completely thrown out from the flesh 😢. So he do the surgery and said there is little hope to fly 😢 and remind me to visit after two weeks. Is there any chance to heal this type of case ? I call him baby...poor little parrot😢 More pain is in my heart...😭

      After the second surgery the vet informed that the parrot won't be able to fly, only glide because she cannot fully strech her broken wing. But there is good news, they can still be happy. It has been 2 years since I uploaded this video, and the parrot is healther and happier than before. She uses her legs more because she cannot fly. You can make the environment a happy place for your bird :)

    Hi buddy need some help wanted to know the Amazon bird you were describing did she have a bone fracture and did the wing bone come out of the skin, my bird is going through the similar situation coule you plz help me with the information.

    • @KhalidAM_
      @KhalidAM_  10 місяців тому +2

      It didn't come out of the skins, it was internal. But when they did the surgery the vet at to insert a pin to hold the bones in place for it to heal. It best to consult a Vet and see what they have to say about your situation. It must stressful for you and your bird, and i pray that things turn out well. Take care of yourselves 🤍
