      The AWD GT look's very tempting for a daily.. I'm just not sold on Kia's long term reliability, especially modern ones, after reading through problems on reddit.

      @@hhasteI certainly hear ya on that, but it seems this generation Forte is pretty good on the reliability front. I'm pretty sure Hyundai/Kia have rectified the engine issue of past models, in fact they can't afford to not fix it. That's not to say it will be as reliable as Toyota, Honda and Mazda, but still in line with other makes and models that don't really have the same bad rep.

    You were actually spot on about Kia not promoting compact sedans/cars as much, mainly because I didn't know that this or K5 existed and it's just so sad to see all these brands only caring about crossovers. If they were actually advertising the cars, people would know of their existence and possibly more likely to buy them.

    • @RALewis1234
      @RALewis1234 2 місяці тому

      Not sure where you’re from, but I see a ton of them here as well as k5s. I think if people cared enough about a sorta niche car like this then you would do your research 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @Aiantaschr
      @Aiantaschr 2 місяці тому

      @RALewis1234 Where I am from, most of the vehicles that are available are Crossovers and SUVs. That is why I have never seen it before. They are niche cars because they don't promote them, that is the reason at least in my country. If I don't see that car on the road and it is not available in my country's website how would I know of its existence.

    • @Aiantaschr
      @Aiantaschr 2 місяці тому

      @RALewis1234 just out of curiosity where are you situated? Because even in the Netherlands where I am now, I don't really see them around.

      Its a huge! Sleeper. Never buy them new because of the "reliability" depreciation. The 2023s with less than 30k are an easy $16-19k which is a STEAL for what you get. People can keep hating on kia/Hyundai.

    Really sad that the forte GT is getting tamed down with the K4. This is a reeally good performer for the money and with the K4 they are getting rid of the DCT, the nice exhaust and overall the sporty aspect. I own an Elantra GT Sport which has the same engine and transmission as this and it's a LOT of fun for the money. If you want to buy one, go get it now before they tame it with the K4.

    Loved the PB&J comparisons. Totally agree with you on the highway driving and passing etiquette.
    I liked how you critiqued different parts of the car (like hard plastic/noise deafening material) that makes the car feel cheaper and inferior compared to other options. It felt like it gave it some justice than simply calling it cheap at the beginning when you really meant to say low/lower cost for those contexts. Cheap in those contexts without mentioning how it feels cheap or inferior felt a bit deceptive and using the term very incorrectly. Other than that, thanks for reviewing another lower cost car 😄 one of the salespeople at my company drives this and chews up highway miles with it and said he likes it a lot. Looking forward to more and also some videos in not top trims

    About the resting place for the elbows. I have a Kia Seltos and I know they are not as comfortable as I would like so I bought a Cushion Pad for the Console and a riser pad for the door area because the rest on the door is too low for me. For me, it seemed to solve the problem. However, the padded riser that I bought for the door has self adhesive that does not hold during the summer. It falls off and left a sticky mess on the door rest. Now I have to wait until next summer to remove it and clean up the sticky mess left behind. The console pad works great with a 1 inch thick pad that has a flexible strap that fits over the console lid. No stick mess there but you will need to adjust it as it will slide back from time to time.

    $28,000 is the end of the line before you enter a K5. So, it’s not a cheap car in the Kia line up. It’s exactly where it is. Same for the K5, the GT price. Before the Stinger left. The K5 GT was the end of the line before a Stinger. Kia does a nice ladder pricing their vehicles.

    I think the European model of highway driving is superior where you can be going as fast as you want in the left lane until someone faster comes up behind you. Then you move over, let them past, and continue on your way. Leave the right lane for merging cars coming on. Unfortunately that's not how we do it in America, but it would be nice to see highway drivers be more aware and responsible. Cheers for the video.

  • @Dreampiece.
    @Dreampiece. 2 місяці тому +2

    The left lane right lane concept of proper driving is dependent on the drivers understanding how it's supposed to work. However, you will always have people that are on the left or right line just oblivious to how slow or fast they are going and how they are contributing to the disruption in driving. You can drive correctly 100% of the time and you will still run into issues where you yourself will have to pass on the right or stay in the left lane to maintain the flow of traffic as best as you can.
    You shouldn't care about what people say about this, because they are most likely the people responsible for the disruption of traffic in the first place. Most people are just stupid.

    what i feel like its time for is for the highways to get an upgrade to make it a 3 lane highway yes it might not be over kill if three's a bunch of traffic but for going through towns example such as new York by Genesee county area a we could really benefit from a 3 lane highway because having more lanes gives options for over taking and under taking and from what i seen since being in my work truck more for working for AutoZone alot of people who sit in the left lane don't let myself merge who are stuck at the speed limit vs my personal vehicle where i could stay with the flow but having more lanes would help commercial vehicles out so that way it should help make less people camp in the left lane and allow people to make another choice

    This car is criminally under the radar in all ways possible. I mean sure both the Civic SI and Mazda 3 have better interiors and sound systems, and the Mazda 3 (in turbo form) will be a little faster, the Civic Si will handle better even if its about the same on acceleration...but both of those cars would be around $2-4k more similarly equipped and tbh neither the Honda or Mazda have ventilated seats!
    Then theres the fact it looks identical to the slow Forte GT-line so it flies under cops radar as well😂
    I'll be homest that theres nothing in the Forte GT that would make me want to trade in my Mazda 3 turbo hatch, but I do think it would be a solid choice for someone looking for a small, practical, fuel efficient sedan that is also quite fun.

    Would you recommend the 6sp manual or DCT? Maybe you mentioned it in the video already but what’s your final verdict? Ideally I’m looking for a great super efficient daily driver, debating between a Jetta S 6spd, a forte GT 6spd (I’m concerned about longevity on the 7spd) or going used and getting a fiesta/focus st. I preferably want a good warranty though but a hot hatch would be really nice. What do you reccomend for around $27000 or less? Reliable, fun, and efficient?

      @@kenchen704With the introduction of the Stinger in 2018, Kia made a “performance” line up with some of their vehicles.
      The Stinger, the K5, Forte, EV6 all have a GT variant.
      Those vehicles, in their GT variants, perform well in their respective segments, primarily the Stinger, which is supposed to be Kias sports car.
      The others are infused with some sports car dna, as opposed to a dodge dart GT, a Challenger/charger GT, or a Caravan GT, to mention a few.
      Yes, GT has lost its original branding of being a 2 door -RwD specific, as far as design goes, quite a while ago.
      At least the GT line up offered by Kia, can offer performance, handling, and comfort to the extent of what will keep affordability offered in their respective segment.

    For long road trip, low cost >> passion.
    After watching the whole video, 37mpg highway isn't a very good number, considering dual clutch should have better mpg than CVT on highway.

      A DCT will never give better MPG’s than a CVT…

    • @blue-tb2fd
      @blue-tb2fd 2 місяці тому +4

      Fuel economy is one of the main benefits of a CVT, it can always be at the exact right RPM for the given load rather than being at certain RPM based on speed.
      37mpg highway isn't mindblowing for a compact car these days but it's not a bad number, especially for a pure ICE car with 201hp.
