Thanks so much for watching Coaches!! Quick question, as you coaches know every video I create is for YOU so please comment on this thread and let me know what you would like to see a video about. And also, don’t forget to pick up your FREE Offensive drills if you haven’t yet: bit.ly/FREEdrills
Coach, any way we could get a video talking about different motions, why we use them, what we look for with each specific motion? Your label of the "push" motion was one I hadn't heard before.
This is a play I ran in flag also 😂. Out of the the 2 back, split back. I had a mesh play that was unstoppable where in your offense the F would line stack with Y and motion behind the qb across and swing where L is presnap. I got the backside motion from Mike Leach with running mesh. R runs a outside release with a hitch and go. If the safety is beat we throw if he bails we come back to the mesh.
I’ve read where you’ve written about using a sniffer. How would you run mesh with a sniffer? Would the Y be the sniffer, or would someone be subbed in for the F? Also, do you ever run Mesh with the Y lined up on the left? Do you ever use the Diamond formation, and would you run any version of Mesh out of it? I love how the Air Raid tries to simplify by having players always do the same things, but it seems like it limits the number of formations available.
Have you ever experimented with running a double mesh out of a run and shoot alignment? An example would be to have W & Y mesh, while X & Z fake screen for a couple steps. Then, as the mesh is made, W continues wide to mesh with Z, while Y meshes with X. Also, have you ever experimented with a fake mesh, where the two receivers stop after 3 steps and run quick outs once the defense is cheating on the mesh route? We face a lot of man defenses, where they switch the screen like in basketball.
We have a big problem near the goaline (and in short yardage) against a very special defense only for this situations. 4 DL who Cover the inside Gaps 2 OLB who play the containe but dont rush they cover the short Hook to under cut slants. And Line up near the line and in the no mans land (between tackle and slot ). 1 Mike how make the tackle because he is always free and spy the qb. 2 Safteys how Cover the slots of man 2 CB how play press. We have a Lot of trouble with that. What would you call against this defense.
@@CoachMcKie On mesh the Saftey and the corner follow their mans with inside leverage. So Our QB could throw a 50/50 or less ball to the F or R. But I do Not like to See this (in the endzone). The shallows are good to pick the man Coverage but the OLB under cut this very good.( in the 1 Game they have a 90+ Pick 6 against this route/Concept.) Y Corner : I Start on the backside. The Hitch of the L is killt because of the press Coverage. The Hitch of the F is killt because of the OLB how starts and stands in the throwing line. Now the playside: Now the OLB Cover the route of the RB and the Mike replace him. This shoot down the Slant and Stop of R and prevent the QB to scramble. Only the Y has a Chance with the corner against the Saftey but this is still a 50/50 ball with the pressur of the D-Line. But you still help me. Because now I have an idea to improve the 50/50 Ball in the Corner Concept. The Y run a Post or a Post-Corner. And the F run a hitch and Go to bit the Saftey. 2 50/50 + Routes are Not to bad. hopefully Thanks for the idea

Do you have the Y or the R off LOS...they're both on LOS in the drawing, but when you actually coach this up which one do you prefer to off ball?

What are your linemen splits?
We like 2 to 3 feet
Coach We are in a8on8 league how can I apply the Air raid spread effectivity on eight on eight thank you?
Do you every run mesh Y? Where the Y runs the mesh high route and your Z/R runs the mesh. Same progression for QBs just a different look.
We dont. Only because I want the y to get GREAT wt setting thr mesh and finding open grass.
any way I can see coach Taylor's video you had with him on the mesh? @coachmckie
Hey coach, the podcast is out today and the video is up on my site

@@CoachMcKie after the last Season I go the DC and ask him how he has this perfect idea to Stop spread offense in short yardage. 😂
