Wow, nice 60ft and 1/8th E.T! That's so awesome that you can race this time of year. I would love to race at that old airstrip, I would totally have a blast! Loved the track footage!!👍👍
yeah it did the rapid clicking in the staging lane but did eventually start, that and the weeping water pump had me not wanting to risk a no start condition or putting water on the track. always something!
Happy your getting track time vrm the car sounds good, thanks for sharing with us I've been looking forward to seeing it run , best of luck this year 👍
Thanks OG! I was happy with the performance and overall had a fun day at a new track, just seems I always have a few issues to deal with that messes with your head, confidence in the vehicle etc. Thanks for checking it out and happy new year to you OG!
Thank you Tim, hope you and your family had a Great holiday season! It may take me longer to acheive my goals but I'm not giving up! Getting a lot of practice pushing the rock backup the hill!
@@vrm86gt I am going on 6 years, of trying to get Cougar down the track. Engine has been done since 2019. I have always said as do others. Things work out the way they should. Never give up the ship, Oliver Hazzard Perry. Pushing rock, yeah once or twice. Stay tuned for new video with Larry Meaux, a wealth of knowledge.
@@vrm86gt yes. They are performing extremely well. We still have a stage 3 porting for those that gets a bigger 2.05" intake valve and even more porting but your Intake manifold is the limiting factor before your heads
At least you're gettin' out there pounding out the laps. Stick cars are hard. Does your main power lead from the battery go directly (after cut-off switch) to the starter? How about the ground? I usually take mine right to the Block or make one of the bellhousing fasteners a stud and connect it there. Just gotta be mindful of the exhaust. Also, have you checked for parasitic draws? Just throwing ideas out there.
Thank you! Yes, I like to get to the track as often as possible, and I need the practice! MY main power goes battery to cut off switch and direct to starter, on the ground I have it run to the frame in rear and engine block to frame in the front, I did a draw test and couldn't find anything, got home and the battery was at 90% charge so just trying to figure out what could have been damaged when i had the arcing battery cable and the only things I have not replaced in the starting /charging system are the circuit breaker and the cut off switch itself. thank you for the suggestions!
That thing took off like a rocket 🚀, The falcon or whatever it was definitely didn't have a chance, you was so far ahead that you didn't need 4th Anyway 😅 , Congrats on your pb
@@vrm86gt that's really cool, every racer should be like that instead of being sour cause they got beat , I can't believe I got a Chevy ll mixed up with a falcon 🤦♂️ That shows how much I was paying attention to the other lane 🤪
Yes! it did start, but it has me concerned! I want to feel confident the car will start every time, those are some of the things that get in my head and make me miss gears! LOL!
If your grounding the battery to the chassis, I think that may be the problem. You need to run a cable from both posts to the engine block, it solved my hot start issues years ago. Hope that helps! Enjoy the content.
Thanks, Yes I did have a cable all the way from the back to the block, still had the same issue, now I have a cable to chassis in back and a cable from chassis to block in the front.
Dang missed 4th, it was moving💪🏼🏁…. Good to see a visual of it hauling ass🏁…..Happy New Yr vrm👍🏼🏁
Yeah, it was my fault I got distracted trying to focus on if I was powershifting or not and missed the gear.
@@vrm86gt 😣🤷🏻♂️….next time vrm 🏁

Thanks Todd! My first time running at an airstrip, but I know you have before!
Living that Commiefornia life 🦊🚗🔧🇺🇸🚦🏁
Its looking good 😍🦊🚗🔧🇺🇸 i sucks Sacramento closed im looking at possibly going to redding in the future
Thank you, Yeah me too, Redding, Mendota, Sonoma and want to try Fallon Nevada also.
Great pass! I've had issues with that water pump fitting leaking too. Loctite 565 sealant worked for me better than teflon tape or regular pipe dope.
Thank you Alex! I think I have that in the toolbox, I will try it.
Sorry the starting issue came back! Congratulations on the best so far pass! Thats a cool track! Awesome launch! 😎👍

1.55 to the 60', I think that is pretty good for an airstrip launch!
