    23:17 the girls didn't even do anything. The only crime those little girls committed was being able to see curses. Geto said he already took care of the curse responsible for whatever abnormality was plaguing the village. The villagers locked up and tortured the little girls because they could see the curse and other villagers couldn't. That was geto's final straw.

      And there's also a possibility that their parents were killed by the villagers. The villagers said that their parents "are the same; causing incidents" If a small isolated town with mob mentality residents are cruel enough to imprison and abuse children, it's easy to imagine what they would do to adults.

    • @Lari_A
      @Lari_A Рік тому +25

      Also, the curse plaguing the village most likely came from the villagers themselves as they were shitting themselves with fear. One more thing that "supports" Suguru's line of thinking.

    I am glad Geto became the new leader of that cult. Those cult members deserve a leader who hates them. The fact that they were clapping over Rikos death tramatized Geto.

    My sadistic and favorite moment of this episode is when that bastard Shigeru Sonoda (The guy crushed to death by Geto) who lead the Star Religion Cult is made an example in front of the other delusional cultists. He didn't have any jujutsu powers but manipulated followers and paid bounty all for the sake of Master Tengen's "Purity" reasons. He was twisted through and through and caused Riko Amanai's untimely death.
    And of course Geto's actions are morally wrong from this point on, but he racked his brain on this decision after receiving a misleading but generous guidance from Tsukumo Yuki. In a world where these abnormal powers are constantly let loose, it's extremely difficult to stick with the Batman's "Do not kill" creed.

    The parallel is that as Gojo reached his peak, Geto was falling into the depths. This flashback painted that so well. Even the fact that Gojo reach his peak quickly within a year and that same year was so tiresome and haunting for Geto. Great storytelling all around.

    Finally! I get to see Geto’s snap and finally flip. Things from the first season and the movie make more sense now. I know he wants to rid the world of monkeys, but his goal will also rid the world of curses eventually. So I wonder how that will go being that he eventually ends up teaming up with curses to reach his goal. Also, I saw Haibara’s death coming a mile away. Wish they showed more of what happened and we also got to see more of Yuki, which is cool. Now we’re back in present day and I cannot wait for what’s your come.

    The kid died on a mission with Nanami. They were complaining why couldn't Gojo handle all the missions since he's so strong. It was supposed to be a level A exorcise but it turned out too much for them. That's why Geto was snapping, he realized people like that had great intentions but was sort of taken advantage of for their naivete. Similar to military taking poor and naive kids, promising them a better future and eventually they either end up being forgotten by society and the government as our homeless Vets or come back traumatized from watching their comrades die in a forever war. Geto, was forced to fight alone which was both a blessing and curse for him since it isolated him from his humanity, literally forced to eat shit and then do so without a single ounce of appreciation from the people he's protecting. You can see it in his eyes the lack of sleep since sorcerers were so few, dying and yet have to deal with the problems created by non-sorcerers. It was in the darker side of humanity that were creating curses and yet they weren't the ones who could undo the mess they created. Geto, instead of becoming a parent and doing it out of love for people, saw humans more as pest that needed to be controlled like "rats." However, to him they were less evolved than himself and Toji, the strongest of the monkeys, planted the seed that they could strive for more but don't.
    Geto, as a teen, faced PTSD like war vets fresh out of high school. Gojo, didn't realize the struggles his best friend was going through and even in his most detached and high state spoke a truth that they all felt. It would be easier to just kill those helping to destroy collective, similar to the idea that criminals should just be killed. In that moment, Gojo spoke a frustration of being a protector, you're also protecting those would harm society itself. Like soldiers who return just to see people turn on each other, it sets a seed of distaste and bitterness of "why did I or any of my comrades protect the very people who would destroy it." This radicalizes them to become hyper vigilant like ex-military and police who take those frustrations on criminals losing sight of the meaning of it. This episode is great with that nuanced when all he sees is blood and speaks about the marathon laid with the bodies of others who " don't think too deeply about it. They're just happy to do something they're good at for a good cause." That turned Geto into a fascist. Power is right and if he's powerful enough, his ideology might be worth. That those who would die would no longer be the naive trying to do good in the world but those who cause the curses and be forced to "deal with it themselves or die." Which is what the girl was pointing out, it's insane to do that but it is the easiest way. That you force them to face the problems they created and adapt or prevent them from having to ever contribute to another problem. It's as Chris mentioned but more like corporal punishment. It's like cutting off hands of thieves hoping they wouldn't steal again, genitals of rapist, or the killing of murderers. It's appealing and easy but you end up in creating a dictatorship that only breeds more destructions and hate only to have those most changed into ruthless monsters to be able to live in this new world. This has to be the best written episode of themes.
    Gojo, shows the representation of divine morality. He could have killed Geto and a bunch of civilians to prevent the future wars but his power is meant to protect the innocent. He even in his "highest" state chose to carry back the girl's body instead of killing the on lookers despite his sentiments toward them. He master how discern non-threatening attacks from the potentially harmful ones passively. He learns how to switch between push and pull abilities instantly without delay which represents the safe guards of morality, to be a rejecting force or an inclusive force. This is akin to the intolerance paradox where knowing what ideologies are allowed to be tolerated and which ones ostracized. Gojo, learned to separate the sins of the "father" from the son. Gojo shows that you can create enemies because it's tradition like Toji or you can break the cycle and create allies like Megumi. He was honest and most importantly, he didn't try to suppress other's powers or eliminate them when they're weak. Instead he would hone Megumi to keep up with him so that there's more like Gojo around to safeguard the future literally representing as Megumi, the first grader who matured faster having to worry about adult problems instead of being a kid. Gojo, who despite knowing his power is still humble enough to question the limits of his "Limitless" power. Gojo who knows the obvious truth, alone he can't do it all but together with powerful allies he helped make strong, there's a chance to improve things.
    Or I could just being reading too deeply into things, like Geto.

  • @Andy-roid
    @Andy-roid Рік тому +1

    When Yuki said that one option is to eliminate cursed energy, I don't think she meant by making humans not have negative emotions anymore, if that's where that comment came from. She said Toji became resistant to curses through rejecting cursed energy, and ig we dont know how he did that and he does seem like a fairly positive individual which could be related, but being less negative wouldn't mean you don't produce cursed energy, it would just mean there's less opportunity for it to leak out and form curses. Keep in mind that sorcerers also feel negative emotions but they don't form curses because they can control it and even channel it for cursed techniques, etc. That's just how I'm understanding jujutsu and curse lore up to now.
    Also the alleyway scene from episode 1 was a flash-forward, because in this episode he repeats the same line and we see the same curse being absorbed.

    I really wanted to encourage you to read the lyrics to the OP and ED music. The songs are up on the respective singers' channels.

    Personally, I thought it was cruel, the line that Tsukumo said to Geto when she was leaving the school on his motorcycle, telling him not to worry because another child was assimilated with Tengen-sama, all that escorting felt pointless.
    In other words, Riko died, but I don't know if it was a mental or conceptual thing called Tengen-sama, but it was hard to realize that Riko's death was meaningless.

      In the movie, Geto will always be in conflict with jujutsu high/society because he is persona non grata and he is in their kill book of exiled jujutsu sorcerers that are sentenced to death. In fact, in the movie, Gojo sent Inumaki & Panda back to the school to buy him some time. Gojo admitted that he sent the kids to fight Geto, knowing they would fail and be seriously harmed, because Gojo knew Geto's pro-sorcerer ideals would prevent Geto from murdering the kids.
      He killed a lot of administration personnel in the school, but when he saw how much effort Inumaki & Panda were putting forth to save another sorcerer, he felt moved and spared their lives. He even spared Maki even though he considers her a "monkey". His goal is for jujutsu society to not throw away young sorcerers' lives for non-sorcerers; for sorcerers to stop sacrificing each other and start protecting each other. Geto has less sympathy for adult sorcerers because they are part of the corrupt society that sends kids to missions where they die.
      So ultimately, Geto's goals doesn't involve destroying jujutsu society directly, though he is willing to kill some sorcerers to reach his goal. Think of it in Thanos-way. His goal is to save the universe by killing half population. His plans didn't involve killing Gamora, but he killed her anyway because it was necessary to reach his goal.

    Yk, it's the main problem with any kind of jealousy. Ppl get mad, angry and they are trying to become somebody else but not themselves. That's the problem.
    From what we've seen, Geto got jealous of Gojo's powers and it turned him into a person nobody knows. Ofc he had other reasons to become like this - wanting all regular people to d*e. But... Don't lives of regular people matter as well? They did nothing wrong. Just because they were born without all those special abilities doesn't meet they should d*e. This is what I didn't get.
