geto was there to put gojo on the right path when he was high. but since then they started spending time less togeter and gojo wasnt there when geto needed him. thats why gojo wants to raise his students able to handle themselfs even withouth him. like telling megumi "when u die you die alone"
Geto's story is just sad, no one was there when he went through all that alone, Geto and Gojo were only 17 while doing all these trauma , jujutsu scorcerer really is a shit job.

We saw Nanami losing probably one of his closest friends in this episode! You could see the blood stain from the white blanket by his waist suggesting his lower half is gone! It traumatized him to the point where he has some kind of PTSD and probably why he quit being a sorcerer. After that we always see him protecting his friends and the other classmates! I think Yuji reminds him of his old friend because of how optimistic he was too!

remeber in the movie, this scence was soo dark blur and gloomy it was from gojo's pov who lost his best friend.
in this ep we see it all bright and colourfull as it is from geto pov who just took reigns of his own life and changed

The subtle sound design in this episode is crazy. How the pitter patter of rain sounds like the cultists clapping, echoing Getos trauma in his weakest moments.
This is a late comment, but Geto losing to Toji was the beginning and where he got the term “monkey” from.
But Toji was the 0 cursed energy weapon of the non-sorcerers who they considered not to be a threat.
Geto believed they existed to save the non-sorcerers who had no power. He wants to save the weak and oppressed. Only to be beaten by someone with no cursed energy, then see the darker side of non-sorcerers.
Then he realizes the sorcerers are the oppressed and there wouldn’t even be curses if not for the non-sorcerers.
Also, side note: He calls Geto blessed then remembers Megumi’s name because “Megumi” in Japanese means blessing.
Toji forces Gojo’s awakening then tells him about his son on his death. He gives Gojo a blessing (both in Megumi and his awakening). In the next scene, Geto inherits Toji’s cursed spirit.
So Toji blesses Gojo, and curses Geto. So it’s important to recognize Toji is a pivotal agent of change for both characters.
Damn I never thought of Toji blessing Gojo and cursing Geto. That’s wild!

This episode was beautiful and it's one of my favorites, especially with the emotional aspect. The animators did an amazing job from the animation, the background noise, and the soundtrack. That scene with Gojo and Megumi and the skip to the present always gets to me. After watching this arc, it added and made it easier for me to understand Gojo and surprisingly Yaga's characters a little more. I'm glad you're enjoying this season and I definitely can't wait for your reactions for the rest of the season.
Honestly this whole season so far has definitely exceeded our expectations from the animation to the storytelling! Excited and terrified to see what all happens lol

I had a suspicion when we rewatched the OP again during this ep! Pretty clever how they added that in 🙌
Shoko knew she wasn't strong enough to stop Geto, that's why she didn't bother.
plus she was his true friend, and she was ready to accept who he became without hesitation
Another thing, Geto wasn't necessarily against Jujutsu Tech. His dream is to create a future for all Jujutsu sorcerers and cursed users to be at the top. It's the fact that he knows the Jujutsu society will try and stop him is the reason they're at odds at all. That's why in movie 0, when he sees inumaki & panda come to aid Maki & Yuta, he goes on about Jujutsu Sorcerers coming to aid other Jujutsu sorcerers is his vision coming to fruition. He'd prefer they all be united together at the top. Which is also why he told Gojo that he had no hate for Jujutsu Tech and why Gojo trusted that he wouldn't kill young sorcerers for no reason. He's essentially the Magneto of Jujutsu Kaisen. Magneto & Professor X don't hate each other, they actually consider each other still friends. But Professor X will send the X-Men to stop Magneto.
Something cool about the 'Gojos dream' aspect of this flashback that also relates to some future events.
Part of Gojo's ability limitless allows him to basically create space, and in physics space and time are one in the same, just on different scales.
Unlike most dream sequences that are just a story's medium of showing past events, it can be assumed that most of the hidden inventory arc (spare some of the details that Gojo is incapable of reasonable deducing) is just a projection of Gojo's mind as he looks back on these events and creates space and time while he dreams both upon the events that he took part in and also his intensely detailed imagination of the parts in between based on his deduction and what he was told by others.
I checked patreon to see where you were, and although these are details you guys will have seen, I will keep it vague in case anyone reading this is watching along with the youtube releases, but if you think back to a certain '1 minute' requirement that some people get a little confused by, you can see how Gojo's ability to create time and space in his mind comes back to bite him.
Well, as I promised, here is the explanation of Gojo's technique and abilities oversimplified (explained up to this point in the story, there is also more information given by the author in the manga): WARNING Lots of Text
Gojo's Innate Cursed Technique "Limitless" : Grants the ability to bring to reality the abstract concept of infinite space (Zeno's Paradox) where a distance, theoretically, can be divided infinitely. Another way to look at it would be with numbers. The natural numbers (0 1 2 3 4 5 6...) are Gojo or the world around him and the decimal numbers (1.1 1.2 1.3...) are the cursed technique and the space it manipulates. Let's say that 1 tries to get closer to 2, then we must count each of its decimals 1.1 1.2 1.3 etc but no matter how much we count we will never reach 2 because the decimals are infinite. Likewise an object will never reach Gojo because the distance keeps "stretching"/dividing infinitely.
Gojo has 4 different applications for "Limitless" :
• (Neutral) Infinity : It is the neutral form of his technique, the constantly active automatic barrier that protects him by infinitely dividing the space of whatever tries to approach him. This also allows him to stand on any surface.
• (Strengthened) Lapse Blue : It is the negative form of his technique, with which he can subtract space. Removing space from an area causes a glitch in reality forcing the "world/universe" to self-repair, causing a pull effect, resulting in the compression of matter. This allows him to teleport between short and long distances.
• (Reversed) Reversal Red : It is the positive form of his technique, with which he can add space. Adding space to an area causes a repulsion effect.
• (Colliding) Hollow Purple : Combining the Blue and Red applications causes a sphere of imaginary mass with the effect of atomizing matter. Another way to look at it would be like this "-1+1=0".
Gojo's Domain "Unlimited Void"
Infinite Void causes an infinite amount of information to flow into the victim's brain. Inside the domain, the victim is forced to receive all the information that surrounds it, from the visible to the imperceptible (such as particles), and this information is repeated countless times avoiding that the brain processes it, causing it to collapse. The final result may vary, in a person this would fry their brain killing them, while in a curse spirit (who possess instant regeneration) it only leaves them catatonic. A better analogy would be like opening all the existing programs and Internet pages on a laptop at the same time. Usually a domain is connected to the cursed technique and the sorcerer's mind but Gojo's domain is connected more to his eyes than his technique.
Gojo's "Six Eyes'"
The Six Eyes are a rare mutation only found in the Gojo Clan, this grant the user a high perception and understanding of cursed energy, allowing perfect control of one's own cursed energy and understanding of the cursed energy of others. It also gives a very high quality vision to the user that provides an immense amount of information about the world, this being the reason why Gojo covers his eyes, his vision is too overwhelming which makes him tired. Imagine seeing like the camera of the Large Hadron Collider.
- Fun fact: The glasses Gojo uses have a higher degree of polarization, to the point that it is almost impossible for another person to see through them.

If you look at gojos eyes when he wakes up and moves his blindfold from one of his eyes it’s red cus he was crying. So sad 😭. Gojos really is a good guy he wants to make everyone stronger so no one gets l left behind and feels alone. Gojo feel alone In him being the strongest and having no one to relate and everyone depending on him. So he wants all the young sorcerers to max their potential

@@armanchoudhury168 That's because of the light being shun on his face. If you tilt your phone, you can very much see that it's the shade from the lighting. Even in the manga it doesn't show him crying.
@@OptimusXIIthere was a detail from Mappa's illustrations for this episode intentionally showing the puffiness under Gojo's eyes. They did it on purpose. Also makes sense the tear drop in the opening.

another thing thats crazy is that nanami's friend that died, went on a mission that was like grade 3 or something low. but then a local deity that is worshipped by the people who is a semi grade 1 curse ended up being too strong for haibara, and nanami had to run. so literally his younger classmate died while trying to clean up the monkeys mess, and what got him killed is the deity that was worshipped by the monkeys. that and the girls were locked up and blamed for terrorizing the village, even tho the source of the cursed spirit infestation is the negative energy coming out of that entire village. he saw many families that were just disgusting people blaming the little girls. geto actually released a curse that said "it will be ok" or something like that to the little girls since they can see cursed spirits. they were relieved for a second so geto decided all those people had to go he's seen too much shit
you might already know by now, but you have a good point about Yu Yu Hakusho, Akutami is a huge fan of Togashi (Yu Yu, Hunter x Hunter) and he's known for paying homage (a lot) to his favorite manga artists in JJK

Yuki seems to be a tough one, Todo's got that scar on his face (which wasn't there back in the flash back when he was a kid) because of Yuki!
toji blessed gojo by entrusting megumi(blessing in japanese) , toji left curse to geto(the curse baby that hold weapons on its mouth)
Toji also blessed Gojo by unintentionally helping him awaken his full potential, and cursed Geto by kickstarting his hatred for non-sorcerers.

Another small detail in this episode: When Gojo confronts Geto he isn't wearing his sunglasses. Even though Gojo didn't have the strength to kill Geto at that time, he still wasn't taking any chances in case Geto decided to fight. Of course in the end neither of them wanted to fight the other, but it is cool to see the respect they both had for each other still and Gojo realizing he would need to utilize his powers to the fullest if he wanted to beat Geto.

It’s so good! A friend of mine promised the Dark Tournament Arc is one of the best in shonen which is why I actually started watching in the first place. Now that I’m on that arc, I can agree lol this show crazy

The contrast between Geto and Gojos perception of the street conversation is insanse. in the movie (Gojo's percpective ) its all dark and dreary and from this episode (Geto's perspective) its Bright uplifting showing he's found a new purpose

The Current Gojo we see in the Jjk season 1 is not the Gojo in these 5 flashback eps. The young version of him was prideful, arrogant, careless...thats why everyone in the Jujutsu high admired Geto instead of Gojo.
The idea of training young generation to become strongest were Geto' ideals, which Gojo inherited from Geto before he became a Genocidal maniac.
Even when he became a mass murderer, he trained young jujutsu sorcerers and formed his own team and treated them as family...as his own...
You should react to the Toji Uk drill , I goes hard after seeing this arc and knowing the context
