I've tried using Vegemite with different things. They all work okay but so far unsalted butter is the best. Since butter is what people mainly use with Vegemite, I'm surprised nobody has ever tried premixing them, or that the company that makes the stuff hasn't reached out to a dairy to make a Vegemite butter. Honestly I think Vegemite would have gone worldwide a long time ago, if not for the Australian sense of humor. "Here, get a gob of this down ya, Mate," then give a foreigner a great big spoonful to try when no Australian actually eats it that way. Seems to me it would pair well with Japanese food, particularly.
In South Africa we have Marmite, the equivalent of your Vegemite. We can also buy Marmite & Cheese spread which is great. Making Marmite tea to accompany Marmite toast is also a favourite breakfast of mine. (We can also get Bovril which is a Marmite-like beef extract).
I have kidney troubles in the third degree. How many times should I eat it and what about the portion size, I mean the size of the spoon. Also, I have high blood pressure
It is definitely an acquired taste. I think that in hot countries were people sweat and need a higher mineral intake the love for it comes naturally. Personally I enjoy my Marmite or Vegemite toast with some banana alongside. The raisin toast is smashing too.
Hello, i have an question, i'm from Poland and it's hard to buy Vegemite and Marmite. in case of only Marmite being available, is it similar enough? if not, i'll keep searching for it online
I think I was the only one in my Brazilian group who liked Vegemite. I used to have toast and Vegemite regularly for breakfast when I lived in Melbourne. I really miss those days.
I first tried it about a year ago, I ordered some online because I was curious. And I really enjoyed it, so I have been ordering it on a regular basis and I have been adding it to my preps.
I really love vegemite, better than sugar & jam on sandwiches, ever since I can remember, I've always have vegemite sandwiches for primary and high school lunch, even 40 + years latter (I'm 55 years old) and still love vegemite, I don't use salt and OXO in my stews or noodles, I use vegemite (all the time). I still eat 5+ aday vegetables etc, don't get me wrong, instead of butter/marg you guest it vegemite, I should be committed to a mental hospital?
Hmmmmm vegemite on raison toast?? Hmmmmm I dunno about that one 🤔 Sounds awful But the best raison toast to buy is the Cafe style one ....Slices r much thicker ...And it has to be the Tip Top brand 🍞 🙂😁

Vegemite and cheese a great combo good tip if using to make a sandwich lot of butter helps
Yes, that is my favorite. And I put it in the oven for a couple of minutes after adding the cheese so it will get melty and toasty.😋

I got my Vegemite from Amazon. It's good on a peanut butter sandwich too.

Cute kid and lovely wife! I'm going to find some Vegemite, I bet I'd like it! My direct ancestor was brother to F.W. Woolworth.
