All classic New York fixtures in the 80s plus Lou Steele ending voice over on the Kraco phone ad! Thank you and Merry Christmas 80sCV!
Thanks for your tireless efforts 80s CV. Christmas just isn’t Christmas without this marathon. Personal fave had to be the Kraft ads! Merry Christmas Everyone🎄
Wow,. Some great pre-Fox WNEW New York Metropolitan area ads. I remember Lenny's Clam Bar. There was one near me. And while they're still around, they are down to one location in Howard Beach.
Thank you for this post! A true WNEW-TV binge! Seems like Tom Gregory was off this week -- Chuck Caron handled most of the VOs for the movie specials. Nice to hear Lou Steele race through the Dorothy Hamill Ice Capades dates -- and that jingle was a core memory just unlocked!
Good catch on Lou Steele doing the Ice Capades V/O (he was too fast for me to pick up, but slow enough to recognize in the Kraco ad) as well as Chuck Caron!
86. Sesame Street Live- If I were a toddler and my parents took me to see this show live, I would have been so scared, seeing life size versions of those characters, especially the creepy look on the Prairie Dawn character's face. Also, I wish I could pay for things with cookies in real life the same way Cookie Monster did at the end.
I remember me a little boy passing by Petland in Manhattan with my mom and see the little fishes in the window, when we would walk up and down her shopping all day at Strawberry that use to be up the block, I think there was a Conway (a place with a bright pink carry bag and a logo that reminds me of a Crunch bar). we'd stop by Gray's Papaya before the day long trek right there off Times Square or the pizzeria that was around the way. I think I only went in once but we had a little baby turtle I won at a carnival and maybe bought his food there, but I was so tiny. There used to be a movie theater up that way Lowe's Cineplex is where I seen "The Crow" and "Super Mario Bros." back in the day!
I miss these days. I wish I recorded the commercials back in the days when I recorded programming on my VCR. It wasn’t cool to record commercials back in the days. 😂
Merry Christmas everyone! I've truly enjoyed another 25 day Christmas marathon, & this is a great way to end it. Also, I just want to apologize if I was being a nuisance to anyone here based on my comments. I love this channel, & this is one of the best UA-cam channels that I find enjoyable. Take care.

38:30 - As someone who visits NY regularly for theater, never stayed here, as it’s a bit far from the part of Manhattan I need to be. (My home in New York is The Michelangelo on West 51st and 7th.) Still, love this commercial, and if I was traveling back then, I would definitely look into this place seeing this commercial.)
Heck, so am I! I'm waiting for my PS5 physical copy of Atari50. Did you know I was born 8 YEARS after they were founded? XD (I ain't mentioning the exact date, but go ahead and Google it anyways! XD)

It's actually only three times cheaper because of inflation.) 25 - Just glad they still call it the Video Computer Sysytem! I see it and I STILL don't believe it! 86 - COOKIE!!!!!111 99 - "Salad and a Sandwich". For when Dinner and a Movie ain't enough! 107 - Yes, The Toyota Guy has a name; REMEMBER IT! You'll be a better man than I. [sniff] 116 - As literally seen on the physical sign. (Not the superimposed graphics.)
An Atari commercial in December of 1983? Uhh...wasn't there a video game crash that same year, something that really hurt the console market in the west until Nintendo came along two years later?
First off, it's a local ad for a NY based electronic chain selling Atari games at rock bottom prices, which is indicative of the crash. Second, it's not as though Atari went out of business as a result of the crash. The biggest effect the crash had on them was the company being sold off to Commodore's Jack Tramiel, which didn't happen until mid 1984. Atari continued to make games, consoles and computers throughout the 1980's.
Thank you for another wonderful holiday marathon! Always feel a bit sad when these end, but grateful for all your work.
What a joy for Pat Boone to express his love of God. Amen!
Merry Christmas!! Thanks for the great memories! 🎅🏻🎄
I was 17 in 1983 it was GREAT!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I would of loved it I think 😍
Best surprise for me was 55:00 seeing Carole Demas from "The Magic Garden" in that Downy commercial! I'd never seen that before! 🌞❤️
crazy eddy .... sigh nostalgia
“Oh, Diane!” I bet people with that name got that shouted at them when that commercial was running.

Good old days of WNEW TV-5, a Metromedia station...

Hope you got great gifts this year!🎁
Crazy Eddie’s going Atari crazy…Just in time for the home gaming market crash…

Sue sent me...
Where's my 6 piece screwdriver set??

"Power for Living?" And here I was, reading the Bible like a sucker!
I just called the number.. no one answered 😖
Now you're reading with POWER!

I'm certain the woman in the Secret commercial is Lynn Herring (General Hospital).
Sentient toilet paper from Banner…Does it scream when you flush it?
I think that's more its sheddings. Though I do fear what happens when it gets to the bare roll...
I didn't know Cottonelle toilet tissue was out in 1983?
