- Coolant dye just came in and now I want to test out if I can tell if the dye goes through the tail pipe to show If it's definitely a leak or not. Also a run down of all the visible problems with the Subaru Outback!

I have been using those high metal ramps for years now and had to build small "rider" ramps out of wood to drive up on to keep the front of car from scraping the metal ramps. With a little ingenuity, you'll figure it out. I was able to use the wood/metal ramp combo on a very low rx8 for oil changes. Good luck and stay safe.
Why in the world did you have to use a funnel just to pour a couple of tablespoons-worth of dye into the radiator??
Likely to minimize any cross contamination that may occur when inspecting for presence of the dye.
from your title I thought you were going to talk about UV dye in the tailpipe. I'm curious to know if the combustion process would kill the dye.
You're not wrong! I thought the same thing but now knowing more about the engine process years later, it's definitely going to burn up. I just assumed since there's a test to see if there's coolant in the exhaust fumes you would be able to see the dye too but I was completely wrong
Does the dye evaporate ?
Did you try the black light in the oil fill?
ya know I haven't checked yet and I still have it so I'll do a follow up on it when I disassemble that engine! (:
A friend of mine was killed from car falling on him .bad jacking job .PS be careful use jack stands
Yo sorry to hear that my friend, I bought some jack stands a video after this one so i'm doing everything alot safer now!
