    Apparently Bond actually carried a Beretta 418 (not sure of the exact nomenclature) before the PPK...

      Thank you for watching and for leading me to more research. It appears that James Bond did carry a Beretta 418 (.25ACP) in the first 5 Ian Fleming novels.

    Yep, always loved that scene in “Dr. No” when Bond reluctantly moved to the Walther from his beloved Beretta. Those old films are so damn good…and, Lois Maxwell as Moneypenny. 😍 hubbahubba!

      @@RidersRange yep, always wondered…but that’s too predictable. I like to think it was a fun, flirty, mutual office crush between them. 😉

    So, Girsan made a repro of a Browning Double Action originally made for FN by Beretta which is essentially Cheetah? Cool! Original BDAs keep going up in price. This one you can shoot and not worry about devaluation. The 80X is super nice. My vote is for the BDA if you want the BDA experience w/o the hefty price tag.

    there are so few options for hammer fired, metal framed pistols that I wish these companies would abandon exact clones and update them to modern specs like a deep undercut, rail, more real estate for optics attachments, higher capacity magazines, threaded barrel and narrow grip.

    Girsan needs an upgrade to a decocking lever like the Beretta.

    Kudos for Girson for making a cool Classic that Greedy Beretta won't make anymore and charges more than top dollar for 380's that you can get many 9 mm for!! Even a 92FS !! WTF!!

    Is the Girsan the one with a tip up barrel?

    • @RidersRange
      @RidersRange  3 місяці тому +2

      The MC14 BDA doesn't have the tip-up barrel, but the MC 14T does have the tip-up barrel.

      @@RidersRange Be careful concealed carrying the tip up barrel model because it has no extractor. I consider that a deal breaker for concealed carry. Otherwise it is fine.

    • @RidersRange
      @RidersRange  3 місяці тому +3

      Just north of $300 for the Girsan, or more than $700 for the Beretta. So, $400 more for optics ready, a rail and the ability to easily decock. Thanks for watching.
