Just spent two nights at WB1 last week. Great camp! Hiked solo up to Bighorn Pass and back. Great explanation of grizzly feeding behavior. Only bear I saw was from top of the pass a half mile to East. As he was walking back into woods away from me couldn’t tell if he was griz or black.
I love the sounds! I look forward to get out there! Your videos are informative and are nice to watch, to decompress a little from the business of the day. Thanks!
It seems like you come across some rub trees time to time. Have you ever considered to set up some trail cams to see the behavior? I have been doing it for about half a year. Last year I found two of them in my country(Turkey) and I'm getting some interesting footages of wild boars, wolves etc. In here, you must be very lucky to see wildlife(especially mammals). Because of this, trail cameras are indispensible for wildlife enthusiasts. Greetings!
I have not used trail cams much. I put one up around my house each fall and catch black bears around my apple trees. I went to your channel to see if you have some trail cam videos. I didn’t see any. You should put some on your channel.
How far on the trail pass fawn pass was this little lake you ended with? Really enjoy your videos. We hike the same areas but I go with a group. I admire your courage
The best hike we did was up Barronette from ice box canyon. Just follow the endless ridge. Like Electric peak it goes forever. I also tell everyone take big plastic water bottle up electric to kill horse flys that land on you in summer. Lol. Out west I always take enough clothes to completely cover up. Even in August.
Nice video, good telephoto lens..was that a marmot towards the end? Kinda of scary seeing a Grizzly alone..I was with a friend backpacking in Glacier and seen a few doing the same thing, we keep walking and talking on the human trail, they didn’t pay us no attention. I admit I was scared, but they knew we were just hikers passing along...I guess there’s a point they get used to seeing hikers and keep digging. Hopefully you don’t smell too good to them. Lol👍
Great videos. Have you ever been attacked or charged by a grizzly bear? If so, what was you defense since it is illegal to fire a gun in the park. I'm guessing bear spray.
great question. Everybody watching this is wondering. I would have a spray but i'd be tempted to carry a hidden gun because between life and laws, life comes first. You can't obey laws after you're dead. That would be my plan B but i'd use the spray first but draw them both.
Most are areas that your are not allowed to enter on certain date ranges. This is one that can be entered but you must stay on the trail. I like the bear management areas because they are places that the bear and other animals won’t have to put up with all the noise and other things that hikers bring.
I miss my park. Lived in West Yellowstone for 5 years in the late 90's. Thanks Stan!
Letting Stan do the hiking for me ; sparing the sore feet and bug bites. Helps restore sanity before another hectic day. Love your videos!
I have back and hip injuries that keep me from hikes like this... thank you for taking me along
I hear you JK. I used to be able to do them, but not anymore. So this is indeed quite nice. If only we could oil our knee and hip joints...
May and June are my favorite months in Yellowstone. I admire your courage filming the Grizzly Bear while hiking.
It's a lovely video.

It's so beautiful and peaceful but I wouldn't go in without my wit's about bears. 😊
Breakfast of spring beauty bulbs and a back scratch. Great way to start a grizzly bear kinda day. Thanks for taking us along!
Very nice! Relaxing!
Wow - this was so wonderful and beautiful! Made my evening! Thank you!
Beautiful video.
Just beautiful......felt like I was right there with you. 😎

Always love your work, thanks for sharing...
Very well done, enjoyed watching. The sounds are excellent.
Wonderful work!
You know I would love to work as your unpaid sherpa just to learn from you.
Thanks
Amazing video!

Berk, sorry, I do see some on your channel. I will take a look at them. Thanks
Spectacular!

going tomorrow! i was wondering if animals are seen more or less or the same in summer because i usually go in the fall.
I'll be leaving Florida for the vacation of a lifetime on April 12, 2021. Destinations are Yellowstone, and then Yosemite. With stops in between.
David, there is still a lot of snowpack in Yellowstone in April.
Thanks for sharing you daily adventures. Does your wife ever hike with you?..........you said that she was a long distance hiker.
women attract grizzlis, they can smell them more.
Love the video. Thanks for sharing. What lens were you using when you got the shot of the grizzly?
It's Yellowstone!
Hi Stan. Do you use an external mic (which one please): your wildlife and nature sounds are always very clear.

THANK-YOU STAN!!! YOU VIDEOS ARE SUPER!!!!

good day, amazing videos 😉 what technique we use to film? Thanks
Not trying to be funny but sounded like I could hear your heart beat when watching the bear
Thanks Stan

Marmots are curious critters. Barking like dogs?

Stan I'm jealous
Have you ever had any close encounters with a bear? Ever have to use bear spray on charging grizzlies?
@1:14 those birds walk as if they rip a fart on every step, lifting their legs to let the gas escape.
What kind of mic are you using.
I got a RODE Videomicro. It seems to work well.
Stan, what is a Bear Management area?

AWESOME
2:42- I sure hope that was just a fart. Let's see. Oh boy. No, no. Underwear ruined.
If you sprain an ankle and start to limp, a grizzli spotting you will hunt.
Why would you think that?
@@StanMills because predators have an eye for weak or injured prey. It triggers their instincts. It's true of wolves, i don't know bears.
