Ep. 7 We are ready for a lift off! Removing UNIMOG Cab. Expedition Camper Truck Build
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 сер 2024
- We are converting an ex-military Unimog U1300L Turbo truck into an all terrain expedition camper. We are starting our conversion by restoring our vehicle and for that we need to completely remove the cab from the chassis. It is quite a challenging and stressful process but we are getting there. In this video you will see us getting the truck fully ready for cab lift off.
Also, at the end we share a little bit of vanlife from Italy :)
Thanks for coming along for the ride!

Those taped bolts with the wedge cut into it are all over the automotive industry.
They’re high tensile bolts and I believe the wedge is to reduce tension and possibly failure points.
You usually see them in seat frames and seat belts etc.
Interesting, thank you for the information 👍
It is required to have an specific set of abilities to rip off in detail a machine like that, being a little bit obsessive kinda helps, some might say having some order works too... The result is going to be flawless, whatsoever, can't wait to see you building the camper, not into mechanics much, but today, I learnt like a lot a lot. ¡¡PURA VIDA!!
Hi! Thanks for your message. Yes, you really have to be patient and attentive, cause taking it apart is one thing, but putting it back together even more challenging :D we hope we'll be ok!
It is not going to be flawless as such but we try to make it as good as we can :)
We will start building inside the camper in autumn (providing everything goes as planned), so stick around! ;)
Best wishes,
Kristina
Very cool!
Thank you Jocke! 💪 We are equally impressed with you wild creations 😎🤩👍
Kristina
Thank you very much, Kristina. It’s nice that someone else appreciates my madness too. 🤪 Looking forward to the next episode of yours!
No worries :) and thank you for your encouragement :)
Have a good day!
Jocke I think your videos are more appropriated then you think! I met the guy with the Unimog 1300 with bliss body. And he also mentioned you and we like that your share you thoughts 😍 We are just 1 big family of lunatics with unimogs 😋
@@unimog404 Aww, thanks guys! It means a lot. 😊👍🏻
Sweet update! And finding the right person to help you is important! I also watch grizzly and bear 😁

We love those guys! We went back through their channel and watched pretty much all their videos 😅
Great job guys! I’m originally from Spain but I live in Australia and was following The Outfit build, then came across JP Adventures 19 and now you guys! Can’t wait to watch the next episode of your build! Keep up the good work!
Fantastic! Thanks for watching, we are quite behind on videos but your comment has push us to finish the next one :)
I'm really enjoying this channel so I've subscribed. You are a lovely couple who plan and work well together. Best of luck with the build and the channel.
Thank you very much, Marc. We try our best, ups and downs but I think we are moving in the right direction. Thanks again 👍
Mate that took me back to cosford 😂 righty tighty, lefty loosey 🙌
Haha, every day's a school day ay! It is just as much to remind myself, 20 odd years of spannering and I still turn the damn things the wrong bloody way!! Hope all is well with you :)
@@victorsvanventures6753 😂 all good matey cheers 🙌
So refreshing to see ( I think) a total lack of tattoos!!
Haha, thank you Ian. Yes, I've been close to a tattoo a couple times but never quite got there. Kristina is too scared of what her Mum would say :)
As you take things off. LABEL in 2 PLACES WHERE HEY COME FROM AND THE PARTYOUOOKOFF
Great point David 👍👍 thanks
where we can buy the manual book same as you have? TIA
Hi, we got ours from Atkinson Vos (in the UK), it was quite pricey and we had to pay for postage to get it from the UK to Italy but hopefully it will come in handy...better to have it, for sure 👍
Have sent you an email to your business account, nothing to do with business btw! Just in case you don't check it too often.
Hi Ian, thank you for your email! I like to sit and properly reply to emails and will do asap , cheers, James :)
