My best guess with the “Carolina Kid” after some googling... it was a car and scheme made just for that toy manufacturer, an actual stock car or “Carolina Kid” doesn’t exist. But it has a 24 on it, and young David was clearly a Gordon fan. Also fun fact... I had two of the Mike Wallace Spam cars. One of them went missing and I found it after my dog decided to make it a chew toy, so it turned into a crashed edition. Mike Wallace didn’t finish many of my races following that.
I had that Spam car too, and I always thought that car was somewhat obscure. Who knew it was such a popular diecast. I lost a Jeff Green Nesquik car in the sand once. It just so happened that there was a guy with a metal detector at the beach that day who was nice enough to find where I buried it.
All those scratches. These cars were properly used. I still feel uncomfortable about the cars I've bought but haven't taken out of the box. 1/64s should see track time.
So cool man!!! Every kid who had Nascar diecasts, left behind a legacy on them. every scratch, every blemish, tells a story. I’m proud to grow up with the good stuff!!
It was awesome. Being born in 1900 was almost perfect time to be born and grow up for Nascar cause it was entering its peak. From 98 to like 05 it was everywhere
FYI. The last minute or so of footage got corrupted so it looks bad and I couldn't reedit the footage because I couldn't open the footage back up. The rest of the video is good though.
David Land do you still do races (with new or old) p.s. I got one old car(kinda) and that was patrick carpenter (or greg biffle) #60 car and he had some wild crashes in my races (2011 mostly because I'm 12)
My best memories were when we (my brother and I) would take our massive matchbox collections out back to our trampoline, lay them out in the middle and choose cars and proceed to drive them around the outside of the trampoline like it was one giant track. He picked the cool, funky cars but for me I always stuck to my NASCAR die casts. Traditionally I played with a Jeff Gordon brilliant flames blue and red car. we would always color on our cars to make them look cooler but that 24 car never saw any of that nonsense. the roof is still scratched from some treacherous accident it got into on pavement somewhere. I have a Vickers #25 that still has a ton of window tinting on it and a lot of 43 cars from cereal boxes. I miss those days. I still have them all. I'm 18 now, my brother is 20. all the cars are in a giant box in the basement, but my 24 car and it's many counterparts, as I had other Gordon cars join the wealth, sit neatly back at home (I'm at college) in my (much more professional) Gordon Collection. Meanwhile, 2016 and 2017 die casts of Chase Elliotts cars are now becoming a hobby for me to collect and I watch them accumulate neatly on my shelf in my dorm and I think "huh, I guess I'm still at it." I may not be too old, but the nostalgia is real rn.
Your diecast videos got me looking at my own collection. Looking through it I realized I have way too many Jeff Gordon cars... although some of the liveries are aesome. I have his classic Pepsi livery, his Star Wars Episode I livery as well as his Hot Hues livery and my personal favorite, his 2004 livery. Brought back many memories of playing with these cars as a kid. Made me realize that a younger me was not kind to my toys xD.
Great video. I remember getting cars from cereal boxes too like Elliots, Atwoods, John Andrettis 43, and Richard Petty! McDonald's also had the Bill Elliot ones you got with the meal u could put the decals on. Miss when Nascar was at its peak and everywhere so much
Who here wants to see David do a big look at all of his NASCAR Authentics cars and look them all over. I think if he did this he should do it in number order.
I'm from Georgia and I've had that '96 Olympics diecast almost as long as I've been alive. It's one of my favorites. It was amazing having the dream team, and all the other athletes in Atlanta, and getting a car with an Atlanta Olympics scheme is awesome, and The driver being Dale Earnhardt makes it so much more special.
Good to se someone with a good passion for nascar. I wish my younger years loving nascar was as big as this, because i am from Australia, and Australia never had these.
Racing fan for life 18 Btw they don't have any Toyota's Because They couldn't Make the new Toyota mold so when I went to Vegas it was pretty disappointing....
your welcome Buddy. do you remember the store that was in the shopping center across from Kmart on 31 in Greenwood. I have a lot of memories of that store. They moved from the location by the suds in Downtown Greenwood in the 1990s
I added you on Facebook by the way. I am from New Whiteland and a lot of the stuff you have mentioned really resonate with me. Especially your past videos of Abandon locations. I think of you every time when I go by tobacco road in Greenwood. Still there to this day
3:20 - That is a different team with Cat sponsorship before the more recognizable Bill Davis Racing entries. This David Green entry was fielded by Buz McCall's American Equipment Racing, better known for before being the Chevy factory team in Trans-Am in the early '90s with Scott Sharp, Jack Baldwin, Pruett (each won titles) and others.
I Have David Greens Car so it all started when me and my family decided to stop by a flea market and i was looking and i found this car along with kenny schraders 36 pedigree car but thats a story for another day david ur videos are awesome and i subscribed liked and hit the bell notifacations thanks for inspiration dude

I remember as a kid getting a set of 6-10 cars in a set it was really cool seeing models of the very same cars I would see on the track or even play with in NASCAR Racing and NASCAR Racing 2 how many of you guys played that game. still to me among the best NASCAR games around the damage was realistic and no weird Ally/enemy stuff that is realistic but I wish it could be turned off when not wanted some cars I had are well played with having a lot of scratches I would try to pretend I had a oval track and do short races wish I had a real little oval track that would make such a cool display my choice would be Martinsville a track I always did well in in the games I played and not to mention it takes up less space
I wish I was more into NASCAR when I was a little kid back in the early to mid 2000s. I used to have the 97 sharpie “win $1,000,000” car, it was literally my favorite toy car when I was little, no idea what happened to it.
When I was 6 I fell in love with nascar but there was something about Jimmie Johnson that just inspired me and here I am today at ten years old still I love with nascar
this video gets me tearing up, I may be younger, but I was able to get quite a few of these kinds of diecast, still got a couple sealed and plenty in my collection
Todd Bodine drove the Stanley 36, the Lowe's car is an Action Promo. The Rudd Iron Man was the Action Total Concept version. The Carolina Kid car was interestingly the only Buick Lesabre that was made in diecast form. The Salsa sponsor was Tanya Tucker Salsa which was endorsed by the country music singer.
The 36 Stanley car was driven by Todd Bodine. The signature on the door says "Todd." You can Google his signature for confirmation. The 75 Cartoon Network car was driven by Wally Dallenbach. The 46 was not teammates with the 13 of Nadeau. It was teammates to the 40 and 42 cars. The 13 was co-owned by Bill Elliott and Dan Marino and was technically teammates with Bill Elliott's McDonald's 94 car.
I have that same exact Bill Elliott 9 Dodge right out of the cereal box. Have the Tony Stewart car as well and a bunch of others where the body comes off.
my friend found one of the cereal box dodges behind his couch in his condo in daytona and it was so beat up you could only tell it was kyle petty by the 45 on the back bumper
Let's see, I have the Trickle Heilig-Meyers, the Dale 25th Anniversary or whatever the car was, and quite a few others. I didn't grow up in the nineties but my second-grade teacher had a "prize box" full of these old diecasts (the Trickle, Cope's Skittles, Elliott McDonald's, etc) and I got as many as I could. Missed out on a Bodine 75 Factory Stores and a 29 Cartoon Network one, and I still need to pick up that Bodine QVC, but I got so many from that box haha. I do regret being ignorant as a kid and completely beating up my diecasts while racing them, but then again I had fun lol
37:08 I'm nearly positive that I got an Austin Dillon Camaro back in like 2012 from the "Life" cereal. It winds up when you pull it back and even has stickers to go on advertising RCR and the 3 car.

Did you ever have any of the Racing Champs World of Outlaws cars? Most of mine wound up losing wheels or having busted wings 😣
ah man you got some great ones there I have a number of this type car I was and still am looking to go from 1-99 with NASCAR cars by number having 1 car or more per number
My first NASCAR diecast I remember was a 2008 Kasey Kahne 1/24 kids edition. I still have it, but it's now a custom short track car I've made. Also btw I have the Jeff Gordon car in the thumbnail but mine is never going to be unboxed.

It was awesome. Being born in 1900 was almost perfect time to be born and grow up for Nascar cause it was entering its peak. From 98 to like 05 it was everywhere
NASCAR was so cool back in the 1990s and early 00s. Thankfully you have UA-cam to educate yourself on that time.
It was. And it was simple and made more sense.
@@packisbetter90 I think you meant 1990

3:58 STOP! YOUR BRINGING BACK MEMORIES I DONT WANNA KNOW ABOUT!
Here in Brazil was very impossible to find nascar diecast. My childhood collection was raised by generic hot wheels and matchbox cars.
I subbed
Opa
i miss when hotweels made indycar and nascar stuff
At the dollar tree near me, there is a hot wheels nascar and ita nearly all red and it is. A Mopar NO. 6 car
"Dick Trickle" Probably the best name I've ever heard.

I remember the Ryan Newman Alltel car when i went to either Target or Walmart in 2006
Oh how I love them rubber tires. Probably the one thing I wish all standard cars had instead of plastic.
Is it just me or does rubber tires have more grip than the plastic ones
