As a woman traveling alone in a minivan, I got a Sienna with a spare plus I carry 10 gallons of water, 10 days of emergency food, tons of tools, and a tow strap. If I can't help myself, I want to help the calvary help me.

There is space for a spare tire. The Spare Tire is an option that can be ordered when the vehicle is ordered, or added on by a dealer. The location of the spare tire would be at the driver side of the cargo area. If it was never ordered, it would not be on this vehicle, but it is an available option.

Hmmm a lot of Toyota’s have the spot underneath that the spare tyre attaches too, but that might be a 4wd only spot. Bull bar on the front with the tyre attached lol? (Only that might fuck with ya air flow, so add a snorkel for flow - haha sorry, those suggestions probably don’t help).

I was seriously considering that option, but then being left with a bad rim would have been worse than no tire because a tire can be replaces, it's harder to find a rim with the right offset and stud pattern which would have been SO much worse...
To answer the first question: I have no clue. But to answer the second question, its about 50-50. Tha ambo gave me privacy and was literally a machine build to take on whatever I threw at it, but the upkeep was insane. As opposed to the minivan, where I can walk to a junkyard and grab parts, with the cost of fuel and parts being SO much less. Yeah as I said, it's 50-50. I miss it but it was time for her to move onto the next journey, ya know?

Do yourself a favor and buy yourself 4 new Michelin tires. I would look for a spare on market place or order one from the dealer. BFG is also a good tire brand for off-roading.
That what happens when you off road with non off road tires. It happend to me twice. And now I will never put anything but AT tires on my rig. If you want a street tire with AT abilities get the YOKOHAMA GEOLANDER 015. And for gods sake GET A SPARE !!

So, I own a 2015 Limited Premium AWD and, yeah, they don't have spare tires. I camp/travel in mine, so I either stick to the main highway or interstate in case of a flat tire or I'll buy a full-size narrow spare to throw up in my rooftop box for silly, ill-planned routes like you.

Also you should have not just your phone but some type of device to get help. Why would travel if your not fully prepared for the unknown things that can happen. No one perfect but learning from it can go along way.
In hindsight a spare is always a good thing to have, but I'm fairly certain, these vehicles never actually came with a spare from factory because of the back seats. I guess Toyota never though that a random UA-camr would be using one of these like this 😂
