i love how the japanese fans are so polite to one another. really wish we could be more like that in the states
visited japan in 2019. people are so polite and nice, you never feel uncomfortable. a lot to learn from them
Not just the US. There are many nations in many sports that could take a leaf out of the Japanese book. Respect for opposition (players and fans) has virtually disappeared.
It's also nice how they pass it one to another when shohei hits a home run. But if he hits it in the US, everyone is going to fight for it
Thank You♥️
そう思ってる時点で充分立派だぜ
I started to watch Japan's games because of Nootbar (here a Cards fan), but now I do it because I truly admire this team, they're amazing not only due to their skills, but also their attitude. Their incredible fans, too. Also Japanese football (soccer) team was a great example to others in the past world championship. So much inspiring! I hope Japan win this WBC 💟
Did you know that Nootbar is very popular in Japan as well?
Because he plays hard and works hard with his teammates to help the Japanese team win.
Rather than winning or losing, the Japanese place more importance on "Are you making an effort" and "Are you working hard?"
Of course, manners are also important.
He satisfies all of these requirements and actually produces results.
Furthermore, he attracts people with his charming personality.
The Japanese team recently played against the Czech Republic, and we was able to feel their passion and joy in playing pure baseball.
Overnight, the Japanese public fell in love with the Czech Republic team.
Even Shohei Ohtani posted a picture of them on Instagram with the caption “Respect”.
I was able to get to know Nootbar and the Czech Republic team, and I think this is the best part of international matches.
I am Japanese. Nootbaar is very popular in Japan now. Defensively full of fighting spirit, good batting, running bases with all his might, and a cheerful and friendly personality. He is now an integral part of the Japanese national team. It's hard to go back to America after the WBC is over. I love nootbaar because he has a really good personality. I'm worried that he might get hurt by being too enthusiastic about the WBC.
@@lethalweapontom because you appreciate him and you want him to win the championship and be happy with his team mates right? 😊
@@megg734 I absolutely agree with you! I got to know the rest of the Japanese team (I only knew Nootbar and Ohtani before this WBC), as well as the Czech Republic, and it's being amazing. I'm from Spain and here people know nothing about baseball (I played it for many years thanks to South Americans who live here), I imagine it's the same in the Czech Republic, so it's impossible not to admire them, since it's not precisely easy what they've achieved. And, of course, it's impossible not to enjoy teams like Japan, where baseball is played with true passion and fantastic values. I wish you all the best 😊
@@lethalweapontom I understand what you mean, it's difficult not to be worried about that, but if he weren't with the Japanese team now he'd be in the Spring Training and he could get hurt anyway. He always plays with a lot of passion because he simply enjoys baseball. So as far as I see it, if there's always that risk, I prefer that he takes it by playing in the WBC with Japan. It's obvious that he's having so much fun, he's really happy and he has many real possibilities of winning the championship. Japan deserves it. 😊 Greetings from a Cardinal fan in Spain!

That moment where the crowd passed around Ohtani's home run ball was incredible to watch. Nothing like that could ever happen in America! This is the beauty of the WBC!
Japanese are a more evolved people.
You're right. In America, a fight would break out over the ball.
Pretty sure Japan has a rule that fans aren't allowed to keep homerun balls or foul balls for themselves and usually a staff/security member comes around to retrieve the ball. Thus they pass it to each other to take pics and then hand it over. The only exception of this rule is if the fielder intentionally tosses the ball into the crowd.
Edit: apparently you can keep homerun balls nowadays but not foul balls
For real. Just makes us look worse and worse...
But guys, these people in the crowd are sick, they are passing a ball around taking pictures of it while having masks on their faces ! What is this world we're living in, people even commentating about saying it's the right way to do things. As robots maybe !
I LOVE JAPAN 🇨🇿
Glory to the Czech Republic🇨🇿🤝🇯🇵
Japanese people are so nice and respectful
Not with those scary, nonsensical masks.
@@areguapiri Japanese have always wore masks
(especially during flu/hay season), long before covid.
Educate yourself.
From March 13th, the government has issued a notice not to wear a mask.
It's an earlier game than that, so naturally everyone is wearing a mask.
Because that's the rule.
Japanese people always follow rules and manners.
So people trust each other.
That's why she can pass precious home run ball into the hands of people who don't know.
"Everybody knows it's mine. They'll respect my ownership because if it were the other way around, I would too."
This is the moment when the national character of being obedient to rules and manners manifests itself in a positive direction.

It's a different culture altogether. But yes very polite people.
The difference in culture is on polar opposites. The Japanese care very much about "we", American only care about "me"

the world baseball classic has reignited my love for the game of baseball. I'm an angels fan and I was devastated when arte moreno announced he wasn't selling the team, because the angels will probably continue to be terrible and ohtani will likely leave after this season. but watching this tournament has been so fun, it's been so nice to actually feel joy from baseball again
I can feel your pain as a reds fan some days I hope a meteor hits the owners box. Not that it would hit anyone as the owner's box is as empty as the rest of the stadium
Minasian made sufficient offseason moves to strengthen the team to make one more playoff push though. Trout has said he wants to be a lifetime Angel, so he won't leave. But if the Halos goes deep in the playoffs, Ohtani might stay given how the organisation is willing to accommodate him with a 6 pitcher rotation. Few other organisation will do that, certainly not most contenders.
“Sheriff, his curveball is his best pitch, tremendous bite downward.”
Shohei Ohtani proceeds to hit his curveball into space for a 3-run homer
a hanger for sure
Yeah unfortunate for the pitcher, that one pitch specifically was just hanging meatball
Good pitcher's best pitch, meet best baseball player on the planet.
🤣😂
Yeah, his best pitch was his worst pitch when he left it hanging like a personal invitation for Ohtani to blast it out of the park. We'd been waiting for an Ohtani bomb, and the Australian pitcher served it up. No longer the sheriff in town.

It will come true in the not too distant future.
Because he already has no enemies in Japan.
The pitcher Yamamoto is very stable. His ball doesn't look so fast but he controlls perfectly and performed well. I understand why he is the no. 1 pitcher in npb. Of course Sasski Roki is also very talented but he needs to be experienced more I understand. Moreover any player should avoid any injury and Yamamoto seems to take care of himself. Anyway Japan is very lucky to have such good players especially incredible pitchers.
If you ever visit Japan, attending a pro baseball game is a must. I had the good fortune of seeing a Hanshin Tiger's game at Koshien Stadium in Osaka. When the home team is up to bat, everyone is on their feet singing and chanting the batter's designated song the entire time he is at the plate. It was an exhausting and surreal experience all at the same time!
I imagine these international competitions are a real treat for the fans. All the opposing fan bases get to come together, learn the chants of normally opposing players and sing them together as a collective Japanese fan base for the first time.
