- Coffee is known as the magical cure that solves all problems and headaches in the morning. However, it doesn’t come without a cost, and there is nothing such as ‘free energy’.
In this video, I explain the reasons why you should consider quitting coffee (the health benefits) as well as what led me to take this decision myself.

I got fed up with having mind-bending anxiety over things that don't matter at all. I quit cold turkey 6 weeks ago: four days of misery, followed by feeling better than I have felt in several years. Never going back.
I'm looking forward to feeling better than ever, too. I'm on day 4 and I feel a little better each day but still dragging quite a bit. Caffeine has done far more bad than good in my life and I'm honestly afraid to even drink it now!
Same!
im thinking i might do the same. I get anxiety etc from it too.
@@elusive4072 It’s been about 9 months since I quit caffeine. Best thing I ever did. Unnecessary anxiety is nonsense. Best luck on your relaxed journey!

My name is chase . I served in us marine corps from 2017-2021 and once on restriction of movement I hadn’t had any caffeine for more than 3 weeks and I woke up one morning feeling the single most rested I’ve ever felt . I felt full of joy and vibrant to be alive . After going back to caffeine I felt like I was poisoning myself . I’m back off it now and heading toward that amazing sleep and we’ll being . Anyone can do it i promise it’s worth trying at least .

I went back to RedBull and Coffee to see how i would feel and i felt like shit. Back to water and occasional milk and juice.
I stopped drinking coffee cold turkey, and ended up in the ER. My anxiety was through the roof. My heart rate was off the chart. I’m feeling better now.
Glad you're feeling better now :) Thanks for commenting !
Wo, how much were you drinking?
Oh, jeez! Same thing here. Been drinking coffee for 15 years and my anxiety, sleep, was getting really bad & getting worse that it turned into a depression. Never been depressed in my life & it’s such a dark scary place. Cherry on top of the cake was 1st ever severe panic attack, I thought I’m going to die hence ended up in the ER. For reference I had 1 cup of Nespresso a day, very occasionally 2. This love & hate relationship is done! I quit cold turkey. The withdrawal was brutal & felt never ending … But finally after a while I see improvement in my sleep, mood and overall health. 🌱 Wasted 15 years of my life feeling anxious, jittery, & depressed 💔
Suffered crippling anxiety and hand tremors/sweating for over a decade now, and it never occurred to me to stop drinking coffee because it was so embedded in my daily routine and tbh it tastes so good.
During the days when i forget to drink coffee, i would feel a pulsating headache and i would just be like "ohhh it's because i forgot to drink coffee today" not realizing that in itself is a problem.
Day 2 of quitting now, i really hope this helps with my anxiety cause i really cannot live with this anymore, the shaking/sweating is interfering with my life
Any success? I'm about 3 weeks out now quitting caffeine and hoping it will help with my anxiety and hyperhidrosis
Did it help?
I quit caffeine a month ago. The withdrawals vary depending on the person. For me they were pretty bad. However 100% worth it. I will never go back. I strongly suggest you either cut back significantly or just quit. You can absolutely do it. At least try it for a few weeks. You will wish you'd done it sooner. Promise!
Excellent job! I've been addicted for 12 years and FINALLY stopped last week. It's hard to keep on track because life just feels slow/"normal" because you're not constantly on the run. Best benefit so far is that belly fat is disappearing super quick. It's the only place I hold excess fat. I think it has to do with chronically elevated cortisol levels.
Thank you ! For me, it's been a month since I quit (it's still hard cause coffee is everywhere) I am noticing a huge improvement in sleep quality and stress levels. Let's keep it up 💪🏼
Same here.. I addicted caffein about 15years.. I suggest u can replace caffein like decaf kombucha tea or homemade, decaff green tea , decaff black tea, rooibos tea, jiogulan tea.. But all of this kombucha really make me feel & forget the pleasure of caffein
@@soukainakanice please help I'm on day 11 and I feel like a wreck 😫 sad all the time, anxiety through the roof. I keep thinking weird thoughts I keep having random memories of when I was a kid and it gets me depressed ass crap. Life doesn't even feel real its like a dream, and I'm dizzy 24/7

I used to have 3 cups of strong black coffee everyday till 3 weeks ago. A day before I completely quit drinking coffee, my nose started twiching. I called up one of my relatives who is a doctor to find out the reason - he quickly pointed out that it is 'too much' coffee. I quit the next day! First three days were terrible but then I started feeling more energetic and positive. Then I thought no harm in having a small cup per day so I had it yesterday and it was a bad decision, felt terrible - I was anxious, lost focus on my work. I AM NOT GOING TO DRINK IT AGAIN, NEVER!!🙂🙂
howd that work out
@@an0therdimensi0n99Since I have now also found out that black coffee is beneficial for the liver, I take only a very small cup of black coffee as a medicine between 10 and 11 am. That is it and it is not having any adverse effect.
It is also important to abstain from coffee if you break a bone,as it sucks the calcium from your bones.
the fact that it messes with your neurotransmitters (makes you more vulnerable to insomnia and depression) and puts you in a permanent fight or flight mode should be reasons enough to quit caffeine altogether.
It doesn't necessarily.
Coffee actually reduces cortisol with chronic usage. This suggests it doesn't cause a fight or flight response, at least when used chronically. The study showed the cortisol increase was blunted after just a few days of usage.
It Doesn't
@@rockgod2131 bit like saying if you get pissed every day eventually you won’t feel as drunk
@@alexjaljl Apples and oranges. Though alcohol has reduced effects with chronic use as well. My point still stands. Caffeine and other substances like nicotine stress the body in such a way that it becomes resistant to all stressors with chronic use.
Darn, I just bought a new coffee machine.
I am seventy years old. For the past week, my blood pressure has been high.
I drink a lot of coffee. I work out, but I lose muscle mass.
I.m going cold turkey for a week and see what happens.
Will get back to share my results.
Thanks
I’m sure you have a buddy that would love a quality coffee machine
For the past 6 years, I believed I had ADHD, depression and bipolar, but it turns out it was the coffee all along. I used to consume Starbucks coffee daily which I had like 300 mg caffeine per cup, because I believed it would make me productive. But the more I drank, the more I became worse at my job. Looking back, things took a bit for the worse ever since I got addicted to that first cup.
Reducing my caffeine was like my eyes opened to the reality after all these years. I want to stop it but I am still physiologically dependent on it. It's crazy how the negative effects of caffiene aren't talked much.
I believe everything needs to be in moderation including coffee, but I wonder with the long cue I see at Starbucks, how many people are actually drinking in moderation.
oh wow, thank you for sharing your experience ! Keep it up :)
ME TOO ! Ocd and adhd until the coffee ceased
Same here coffee making my depression & anxiety worse
moderation for addicts... ha!
I wouldn’t even use caffeine Responsibly, the affect of it is to give you more stress and flight or fight so even if u use it occasionally all it’s gonna do is stress out ur body
Thanks for making this video. A lot of people need to be aware of the risks of high doses of caffeine every day for decades. It takes its toll as cortisol levels remain constantly high leading to physical and mental harm. It is especially try when one has a stressful job. Caffeine will only make the stress worse. For me it’s day 5 caffeine free and I feel great 👍
Great !! Keep it up :)
Don't forget the nuances.
And now?
Now I avoid drinking coffee in stressful settings such as the office. I do drink coffee during my days off and on holidays. Even then I only have a small espresso
@@danielstassen813 so youre still addicted
I quit coffee 2 years ago and I wished I never drank coffee in my life. I am 57 now and my head starts shaking after drinking 1 coffee only. That started 2 years ago. I had my suspicion already on many problems I had described in this video but nobody supported me in that. So I started experimenting myself with longer (1 month) and shorter periods (few days) without coffee. The results became more and more clear to me. My wife forbid me sometimes to try more. Than I sneekly drank some coffee because of the cravings. But than my wife saw I had tremblings with my head and told me I was sneekly drinking coffee again. I never experienced the tremblings after quitting completely. But even after 2 years if I try to drink one coffee or coke only the tremblings come back including depression and all other bad stuff. For me coffee is a delicious poison. Just giving a short boost. But making things worse on the long run. Drinking Tulsi sleeping tea and vitamins and minerals to support my adrenals and life is so much better now. I lost weight, and I am more alert and happy than with the black stuff, no thanks.
Keep it up :)
Unfortunately I am just learning about my hidden enemy !
I moved to decaf coffee. I only drink normal Coffee when im doing cardio within the next 2 hours ,otherwise i drink decaf.
Just to follow up this story. I observed that my adrenalin was depleted, taking adrenal supporting supplements helped. I also started taking extra magnesium before bed. And I observed that I was depleted in Vit B1 especially the water soluble version called thiamine. Because it was already few weeks frequently peeing at night. I took a test for my prostate and uti. But the doctors could not find anything. Accidentally I saw a video from doctor Berg explaining about peeing at night because of short on Vit B1. Benfotamine and thiamine. I looked up my diet and found my intake of B1 was 0. I don't eat sea fruit or pork, nor any other that contained Thiamin. I start eating lentils and added supplements. Since then I start to get OK. No more peeing at night and my blood pressure start to lower also.
Switch to decaf or drink dark roast coffee: the darker the roast the lower the caffeine level. Light roast has the most caffeine. You can also drink green tea. Blonde roast coffee and green teas do have health benefits. Look it up and learn how to manage caffeine. It’s like sugar if you eat a giant candy bar every day it’s not good, but a little square of dark chocolate (with your espresso) can be a treat with health benefits.
Starting the evening of the day when I quit my morning coffee,I had a weird headache for about 12 hours, then I "came alive." My normal all-day feeling now is the same as the "high" I got after that first cup of coffee. But I have no downslide in my mood now. It's all "high" all day long. It's so great and it was so easy. (In my 30s I couldn't do it; something about my older self made it simple). Good video. Thanks. Good luck to all.
Only twelve hours?! You're so lucky! I'm on day 2 and almost fell off my bike because my headache is so bad despite taking a painkiller.
Thanks! How have you been?
A lot of people are unaware of just how serious caffeine is. I quit recently and got insane withdrawal symptoms pertaining to depression and borderline suicidal thoughts, and I'm not alone in going through this. There's no way a substance that can do that should be regarded as healthy.
Omg I hope you are doing ok now. Good luck 👍🏻
Yeah I think its one of the greatest addictions there is yet its socially very accepted. I mean if you were to say this stuff to the average person they'd think you were crazy. But you only really see the truth of the issue when you withdraw from it and give up caffeine.........thats when the scales fall from your eyes and you see the true effects of caffeine.
I still don't understand how people get addicted to coffee
I’ve been drinking it for ten years with one two year period of quitting. As with other drugs I’ve done recreationally, I feel almost no benefits from drinking caffeine now and horrible anxiety. I took one day off recently and slept the entire day. i am extremely fit and active and wondered how much this effect on my sleep was having on my recovery from exercise. i need to quit.
@@eoinbrennan3949 bro how do people get addicted
Thanks for the video. I'm glad you mentioned caffeine's effect on blood sugar. I experienced this situation. I was obese, so I started intermittent fasting. I gave up coffee so I could also quit the sugar and cream I used. I did the 16/8 fast along with 2-3 whole day fasts each week. In 5 months, I lost 60 pounds, and my blood sugar was great. Then, I started drinking black coffee, and my weight loss stopped almost immediately. However, it took me a while to connect caffeine with why my weight loss stopped.
Thanks for sharing :) Congratulations on your weight loss, keep it up !!!
Why?
It’s the high cortisol from coffee that stops weight loss
Coffee causes a great and I reiterate great disruption on hormones. It affects every single hormone and affects all the adrenal glands and endocrine glands like the pituitary, hypothalamus, thymus, thyroid, and elevates the propensity of developing many conditions like diabetes which is a oxygen stealer. DIABETES disables the bodies oxygen absorption causing body parts to die starting with the limbs. Coffee also keeps the body constantly dehydrated and this in the long run is not good. It also damages skin cells and dna. It also makes the skin look horrible by breaking down elastin and collagen. After all this there is nothing absolutely no benefit from drinking coffee. And those that tout the benefits are affiliated with big Coffee. Don't believe the lies quit now because the body is a marvelous system that can correct everything but we need to help it and take care of it. Our bodies are our house. That's where we live once we mess up our house we live in it's game over and you don't get another chance.
Gosh I've heard so many times that coffee helps weight loss especially black. Thats how I drink it but I use a cookie with it
My experience over the years are that my day at work will start ok, then like usual i drink my coffee. An hour after, i start feeling weird, intrusive thoughts, extremely high anxiety, too much self awareness of every move in my body and thought pattern. I had always a level of anxiety so i always told myself thats the reason.
What i did noticed later on is in the days when I don't drink coffee i feel much more clear in my head, my body movements are more align, no brain fog, a type of calmness that im really not used to. Personally in my case i believe its not just the caffeine but also gluten that causes me severe inflammation. Al that i mentioned above are actually an inflammation in the brain. It wasn't "just" the anxiety in itself.. these stuff makes everything worse 10 times
Yes inflammation is bad for our brain, coffee especially with cream and sugar increase inflammation. I hope you are feeling better now, please check the description for healthier alternatives.
I can not even believe how much better I felt after I quit. I could not get enough sleep( quality ). I did relapse, drank a cup and it just reinforced how crappy it made me feel. I was able to be way more productive and better mood when I quit.
I thought I had diabetes or hyperglycemia. I couldn't believe it.
Crazy transformation. I also drank 8-10 cups a day before
8-10 cups a day! Yeeeet! I'm glad you quitted man! I'm quitting too...the more I read the less I want to keep having it. I'm a huge overthinker, so much that I wake up thinking constantly about anything. That drains me of energy and I'm sick of it. Let's quit this crap!
Strange, I do quit for reasons I yet don't know. It takes months without coffee and I wonder why I do this to myself. So I drink for some for a while and so on...
I guess the quality of coffee is way below what it was before the covid bs. So I don't even wanna drink anymore.
Any differences I noticed? No.
But even if do feel like I'm not addicted to it psychologically, the idea of opening your brain chemistry and your whole biochemistry to addiction can't work for my favor.
Am I happy? No. Does coffee make me happy? Not anymore. Should I inject even more coffee into my veins?
I'm out of here...

You just confirmed a lot of questions i had about myself. Thank you for making this video. You're actually the push I needed to stop drinking coffee.
Thank you for your comment. Good luck quitting caffeine ! let us know how it goes ?
This topic is under-discussed and needs to be talked about some more. I recently discovered what was causing my stress and anxiety and always feeling extremely frustrated by any little thing that won't go my way. I used to drink a Venti size Pike Coffee in the morning and sometimes I would switch it up to a Trenta Cold Brew, unknowingly making my anxiety worse and triggering the fight-or-flight response, leading to increased heart rate, blood pressure, and cortisol levels. If you are feeling overly anxious or stressed, consider quitting coffee do it for yourself and your loved ones around you because they suffer too.
Thank you for this, I love the fact you are basing this off science and not a lifestyle trend. I'm going cold turkey off caffeine since I'm an insomniac, endometriosis riddled, on PPI meds for antacids and just so very exhausted. I felt so much better when I was pregnant and not drinking caffeine.
You got this! Thanks for your comment :)
Omg! I drink coffee and smoke and go into an endless loop of extreme anxiety, and then when you mentioned it affects endometriosis I got more convinced to quit coffee because I have endometriosis and my friend told me coffee balances hormones, little she knows it's the opposite then!
Don't listen to anyone (not me or anyone else), make your own research, talk to your doctor and most importantly listen to your body. Good luck sweetie :)

just a few days ago I was on the verge of going to my GP thinking I had panic disorder and generalised anxiety disorder -as I was having physical symptoms of panic in my chest all day on and off. I was only having two cups of coffee a day but I am only an 8 stone female. then one day I thought let's not have the 2nd cup- and I noticed I didn't have the chest tightness in the afternoon or evening! even though it was busy at work which would normally lead to the symptoms (with caffeine in system)

Caffeine make us anxious and exhaust our nervous system
Thank you so much for this video! I've been trying to quit caffeine permanently since 2018, and I'm just now finally succeeding. Videos like yours, with such important and helpful information, make quitting that much easier. It's scary to know how normalized caffeine has become in our society, which is one of the main reasons it's been so difficult to quit in the past. Even bringing it up to my friends yields no results because they tend to defend their intake instead of looking into all of the reasons you listed in your video. I'm definitely going to share this with them to, if anything, plant a seed. But again, thank you for taking the time to share all of this information. You just strengthened my resolve to quit forever.
Thank you for sharing :) happy to hear that you finally succeeded !
What are the consequences of quitting coffee?
Bravo!!! i stopped drinking coffee because of sheer vanity...Yesss !!! true story...while a university student in England i had noticed that whenever i had even a little coffee ,my face would look drawn & ugly & stressed...when i stopped, it would look so much more serene & BEAUTIFUL.. Also, being Greek w a very mediterranean temperament, coffee would turn me into a really short tempered non graceful girl...So i totally avoided caffeine for years...EXCEPT the occasional chocolate !!! Face = perfect !During lockdown i began having coffee ..devastating results. sleep badly affected, face looking aged & drawn, restless ..i d welcome suggestions on how to totally quit..as am kind of hooked now..
Hello, I can relate to you!
I stopped because my boyfriend told me that my personality changes after drinking coffee ( less loving, anxious and preoccupied) . It was really hard at the beginning but he was my motivation. I don’t want a substance to control my mind. The more I stayed off coffee the clearer my thoughts were. I decided to have one coffee per week and usually the next day I felt sluggish and anxious. Sometimes panic attacks. Coffee is bad for hormones and I am soon 35 I don’t want to poison myself. Increasing the amount of protein I eat and fats helped me too. I also took naps when I was tired. It’s really worth it. I feel way better now and I hope I never see my dark eyes circles again. I don’t think the coffee has to do with your ancestry. I think humans are not meant to consume coffee because it’s a natural pesticide. If you care about your health that might help you stop. I always thought I had no problem with coffee I could have espresso and go to bed. But when you quit you notice how good it’s possible to feel without it.
I was drinking 3 to 6 cups of coffee a day, that's from coffee shops so 9 to 18 euros a day. I quit coffee- caffeine 5 days ago because of the afternoon crash, anxiety, depression. Hallelujah.
Thank you for this video. I am a "casual" drinker of coffee, I just like the aroma, and never got hooked on caffeine, so for me stopping drinking coffee is like: Ok, whatever, I don't drink it anymore, no big deal. Thanks again, great video.

Caffeine is good. Make 1-2months break for caffeine so it hit you better and you can restore caffeine levels. But keep drinking - it is good for over all health and mind.
My addiction was being addicted to the Brown sugar shaken expresso from Starbucks. For a little over 3 years, I was spending over $300 dollars just on Coffee. That is right more than 300. Every single day I'd have 2 grande Brown sugar expressos each costing $5.25 at the time....
I didn't quit coffee, but I switched over to the Dunkin Donuts K-Cups I save my self a ton of money. I'm proud of myself for being able to make that transition
I addicted caffein about 15years.. Now about 5month life without caffein... I feel like my life before have been damage by caffein..i will never go back to caffein... Normal take 2month withdrawal.. I feel more energetic like 10years younger.. I not easy stress out.. No headache.. The best decision i make before quit sugar, chicken... I suggest u can replace caffein like decaf kombucha tea or homemade, decaff green tea , decaff black tea, rooibos tea, jiogulan tea.. But all of this kombucha really make me feel & forget the pleasure of caffein...caffein i heard block vitamin B1 & weaken our bones
I gave up coffee not because of all this things you mentioned, but because upsets my stomach
Also this video felt very professional! Great job
Thank you !!!
My brother is a pharmacist and is strongly against caffeinated drinks. It's a horrible drug. I ignored his warnings for a while and strongly regretted it. Just the caffeine from a single daily soda made my anxiety skyrocket and I became more angry too. It was insane. Never again. Sometimes I still want a caffeinated soda, but it's really not worth the side effects for me
Thank you for sharing ❤️
Caffeine is added to sodas and many other drinks... and that caffeine is a chemical ... made in a lab ... I agree with your Rx brother ....
I wonder how many dozens of neurotoxic drugs he slangs to “customers” daily.
I have tried to quit coffee many times but i always fall back to it because i miss it so much. I want to quit because i am always tired and I wake up tired every morning. I quit for a few months once and these problems went away and I felt much better. But I still missed it very very much every morning! I want to quit again for real and for ever!
Don't quit. Drink in moderation.
Quit caffeine month ago. Withdrawal symptoms - not that long, I could not fall asleep for one night. I see positive change in my sleeping, waking up, level of anxiety and irritability. I used to got my caffeine mostly from strong tea, I was surprised when I connected those symptoms with a cup of tea. Now I'm using decaf tea.
OK! OK! You just ruined everybody's morning. We get it. Since you didn't mention donuts, they must be good for you. lol. Just joking. I quit caffeine every now & then, there is a significant positive affect. Great video. Thank you. BTW - intermitten fasting is another action that is beneficial in many aspects of living.
You got that right!

Thank you so much for the video! Very useful!

thats an eye opener... im addicted to coffee now i have to forgo it due to my high blood sugar ... thanks for the info
Welcome !
Yep, they also use to tell people smoking was good for you. So.....🤔
This evening I nearly died drinking caffein and after I worked out I felt my heart pounding and I nearly took my last breathe. At that moment I said to my self never again I'm going to take caffein for workout. I'm so lucky to be alive thank God. This video is helpful thank you
yeah I've really only drank caffeine right before working out once and I had a very bad experience too. I drained two cups of Keurig coffee and then ran 5 miles. An hour later I got blurred vision, palpitations, panic. Awful. I don't understand how people do that. It's a terrible idea.
Thank you, hope you are feeling better after quitting
love this! thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
If you're trying to quit something and struggling, don't lose faith. Over the decades I've quit amphetamines, nicotine and caffeine. Each one took multiple attempts and each attempt was a completely different experience. One of the times when I tried to go cold turkey on caffeine my body freaked out! It was like trying to come off smack or something! Exhausted, paranoid days and destroyed sleeping patterns... it was a nightmare. But when I finally ditched it for good it was smooth sailing. Just keep trying
I have been strict carnivore for 9 months with only an initial 20 lbs lost. I stalled and haven’t moved in 8 months but drink black coffee all day. I honestly think this may be why I am stalled. My weight is great everywhere, I feel fantastic (after my coffee) but this big belly fat will just not go away. I am 12 hours into zero coffee and feel like crap but going to stick to it 30 days and see what happens. Great video.
oh great !! Good luck, let us know how it goes after the 30 days ;)
Did quitting coffee help with weight loss?
Did quitting coffee help with weight loss?
Did quitting help with the weight loss?
@@sparklebiscut1904 I didn’t make it past a few days and I fell right back into the coffee pot.
I have another theory is I keep spiking my glucose with to much protein or chewing sugar free gum that is very sweet though. Either way I feel good, amazing energy, I just have a big belly still. 🤷♀️
I may try and get some hep from a coach one day but meh. I feel good and am not trying to find love so it’s not a big deal to me.
Great video. I have tried alot of substances but nothing comes even close to caffeine. Crazy
I drink one cup of black coffee everyday not because I want caffeine, in fact I am very caffeine sensitive so anymore than one cup and I'll get way too anxious, but for the health benefits of the antioxidants it has and I love the aroma.
For me I do the same, but with green tea... tons of health benefits with far less caffeine than coffee. But IMO it doesn't taste or smell so good, haha. (but been sticking with this routine now for over 5 years)
How long does caffeine last in the human body?
“The effects of caffeine can be felt as soon as 15 minutes after it is consumed. The level of caffeine in your blood peaks about one hour later and stays at this level for several hours for most people. Six hours after caffeine is consumed, half of it is still in your body. It can take up to 10 hours to completely clear caffeine from your bloodstream.”
Outstanding videos! Thank-you very much!
Glad you liked it, thank you 😊
Great video!! I have loved my Folgers Black Silk for decades. A few months ago I decreased my overall consumption by 50% and stopped drinking coffee no later than 9:30 am. I tried to replace it with a herbal coffee but that just made me feel off. In any case, based on the half life and levels still being about 25% even after 12 hours, I’m going to sleep on basically a cup of coffee or 100mg. I may switch over to half caff as i continue my journey off of caffeine. I can’t go cold turkey, I’m just not man enough for that. :-)
Thank you :) Keep it up !
Ones day it good, tomorrow it bad life 🥴
I need my dopamine. I have too much cortisol activity. Coffee is a double-edged sword that cuts two ways....I'm screwed! With two large bags of organic beans always at hand, I will find it difficult to resist my one daily morning cup...but I will do so for the next thirty days; and comment again at that time.
Been 5 months , what’s up?
The two large bags of organic beans took steve hostage
Thanks for the video!
You’re welcome!
You are right with everything. I quit coffe 8 months ago. I feel reborn :D.
Happy for you :)
1 more fact about cortisol is the fact that inhibits weight loss when high. When people are stressed and try to work out, it won't work if their stress levels are high. If you know anyone who works out regularly, and they don't seem to be making progress, simply ask them if they've been stressing out or drinking coffee regularly.
When I've quite caffeine I've noticed losing 5-10 pounds without making any other changes. One reason why I'm going back off!
To quit caffeine was the hardest dietary modification I ever done.
Yes, same for me.
@@soukainakanice how is it going now? I am curious to see gow does it feel after a few months...do you still crave it?
@@luciatat4084 Hi Lucie, it's been more than 5 months that I quit coffee and I can say today that I don't crave it at all (and believe me coffee is everywhere I go). When you notice the benefits on your body, sleep, anxiety levels etc, you just don't want to go back. It's more of a paradigm shift, a change in your mindset. Work on that and you won't crave it at all !
@@soukainakanice thank you so much for your answer! 😊It gives me hope that I can too give up coffee, and this time for good. I failed the last time probably becouse I quit cold turkey, which is hard...I’ll try do it gradually this time and also have it ocasionally too instead of “never having it again” thing...
ive been addicted to thc and nicotine and can firmly say quitting caffeine is much much harder than both. its crazy that i would still feel sluggish even a month after quitting wtf i wish i never started
Very well done and researched. I've been trying to get the word out about this as well, and will be releasing a video soon. Thank you for your work. It is also worth mentioning that some people have effects of caffeine that last several months.
Awesome, thank you! I’ll make sure to check your video 😊
@@soukainakanice Thanks Soukaina. I was able to complete my video on this subject last Sunday, and would be very glad to share it with you. It is published on my other channel called, "All about your faith." It is titled, "The Word of Wisdom: A Look at the LDS Nutritional Law of Health." UA-cam sometimes doesn't like it if you put links in comments, I'll just offer you the information if you'd like to give it a look. I really appreciated you take on the subject of coffee. It helped to cement some of the ideas presented in my video that go even further and that you may find very interesting. My approach considers the health efficacy of a certain religious practice regarding what foods and beverages to consume. The LDS community has been practicing prohibition on Coffee, as well as Tea, alcohol, and tobacco for nearly 200 years. I thought it would be interesting to compare the practice with research from modern studies and see how it holds up. It actually does so, very well. I hope you'll have a look. Thanks again.
Thank you for this valuable information.
You're welcome !
I have had great success doing intermittent fasting over the last 3 years ( Normal blood sugar , 70+ lb weight loss , no insulin , weaned off Metformin in a few wks , corresponding reduction in blood pressure , etc , I agree with you about coffee & even tea. I drink only water.
( When I did several 8+ day water fasts I did a little lemon juice & a pinch of Himalayan salt in the water , but that is ALL. This is what Gandhi would do....If it is good enough for Gandhi it is good enough for me ! )
Also , please note people who make these
concoctions with cream & other latte like things in their coffee & even tea ; WHEN YOU MIX A SOLUTION LIKE COFFEE WITH DAIRY YOU CREATE AN INDIGESTIBLE MESS THAT YOUR LIVER & KIDNEYS HAVE TO DEAL WITH !
Not true!
From a coffee drinker; very good!! Thanks. Looking forward to go coffee free.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you! Best video ever on coffee detriments
Good video 2 things : I don't know if anyone mentioned it already but coffee on a empty stomach (which is how most people consume it) causes acid secretion and over time can burn out your mucus cells protecting it and eventually your partial cells affecting protein digestion and then the bile and pancreatic response is reduced. Second I would get a DNA genomic test to see what kind of metabolizer your are. If your type is counter productive to coffee then Cardiovascular events may occur earlier than later. Nutrigenomix can do theses labs
I don't have any issues drinking coffee. The good thing is I never fall addicted to anything, from caffeine to alcohol and foods. Seriously I don't know what mean being addicted. I drink coffee daily for many decades. Randomly I am busy and forgot coffee ever existed, used to drink wine for dinner but lately because of aging I decided to restrict and only drink occasionally for social events. Well I totally agree that people should save money on caffeine and alcohol. They are useless if don't want to say harmful for many people.
That’s great ! Thanks for sharing :)
I've been drinking coffee every single day for 62 years. I started at 6 when I would drink a black coffee with my dad before he went to work.

Caffeine is a powerful drug that many people use around the world. This video does a good job explaining how everyone is different, and although it's not good for anyone, it can be helpful at times. I tried to quit caffeine, and I immediately regretted it because I have a rapid fire, stressful job. I'm naturally anxious, but the solution isn't quitting caffeine now because I need that astringent attention to detail. In the future when I have a less stressful life I can wean off it, but the reality is I've always hated the morning since I was child. I've always wanted to sleep late into the day and work at night. I grew up to be a painter, and illustrator, but since I still hold a rigid day job. I don't have the luxury of slowing down.
This video changed my life. Never touching anything caffeinated ever! Thank you
You're welcome !
Good video Soukaina! I however fall asleep like a baby after a delicious cup of coffee and so does my mum (she has ZERO grey hair) and other people in family. Yes, we drink coffee after dinner (and all day long). Take this from a non-doctor, non-expert ... I have learnt to listen to your body (You said that yourself too :) ). It knows better that all the doctors on earth. I sometimes eat watermelon and bread to breakfast, other times eggs and tomato, other times nothing. Every morning I give to my body what it asks for. I am over 40, and I have to show my ID in alcohol shops. Let alone I have always heard that I look much younger than 40. I sleep max 4-5 hours a day! I am cheerful and happy and I do not take life seriously, but I do have plans and work hard. I do my best to stay away from all the information, because it decreases your time for other meaningful stuff! This discussion of coffee good or bad is LONG discussion and has been around for years, especially in BBC. Religious people, especially Muslims and Christians used coffee to "be able" to copy and recite their holy books.
When I sit with my cup of coffee, it feels like meditation and I feel joy! I do not drink it for energy or to work hard. It is a time with myself. When I also feel for it, I smoke a cigarr and just leave the planet earth and enjoy a moment under the sun or in the veranda listening to the rain. What really can destroy your health is stress and your state of mind, not coffee, not certain food and not certain habits... Peace and stay joyful!
I have a friend who does what you describe: says he can drink multiple cups and fall fast asleep. A genetic assessment finds I have almost all of the genes that code for high caffeine sensitivity - also known as slow caffeine metabolism. That means, when I consume caffeine, it takes far, far longer for the caffeine to clear from my body. That means it has its effects over a longer period of time, and a 2nd cup just piles on top of the caffeine that is still circulating in my body. This is likely why some people can consume coffee readily while some of us cannot.
@@coldstreamsThis is interesting info. Where did you get the genetic testing done for caffeine sensitivity?
i have a question. I have been a heavy Caffeine addict for most of my life. intaking over 1000mg per day of caffeine and countless MG of sugar upwards of 800 or more.
I started having health problems due to the heavy caffeine intake such as
Anxiety
Panic attacks
foggy headed
light headed
Confusion
Weight Gain
Extreme Irritation and moodyness
So far im 23 days into quitting but that has caused its own set of issues and im wondering if this is normal. 23 days of either light or severe headaches.
The one thing that is confusing me is my jaw and teeth. Since I quit Caffeine for 23 days now I have had tooth and jaw aching randomly throughout the day. I have already been to the dentist and they see no issues and when I told them it started about a week AFTER I quit Caffeine they told me they have never heard of this before but a buddy of mine who quit said his teeth hurt alot after quitting and took along awhile to stop hurting and he had to drink a little soda to stop his teeth from aching.
I dont know if i feel better or worse off the Caffeine at this moment but I really want to quit for good. a Few years ago I OD'd on Caffeine and has a series of mini heart attacks but I never learned and went even harder on the Caffeine so im dedicated to quitting.
P:S. I have also noticed I literally have no appetite no more. I am never hungry anymore
I bought an exercise bike to start working out to get healthy again so im looking forward to a healthier future
I’m guessing your symptoms are coming from both the withdrawal from MASSIVE AMOUNTS of TWO addictive substances (sugar too has its own set of issues) . I’m no expert but It may take awhile to feel better. Took me over a month to recover from 3 cups a day, although sometimes I do enjoy a cup once a week or so. If you have the self control you can try weaning yourself off.
