- DST WISE postdoctoral fellowship is given to woman PhD's by the department of science and technology of the government of India. The scholarship is given in applied and basic science and technology domains and for medical professionals with masters degrees.

Hello sir... should the proposal of pdf be relevant to phd study or it can completely deviate...i mean chances of proposal approval ?will it be more for phd relevant topic?
It should be relevant to PhD study as the reviewers should feel that the person can do the proposed research with the skills they have developed during the PhD

You could but check the guidelines of the fellowship. They do recommend taking a guide from another institution

To the best of my knowledge any good university or institute can be selected. Government institutes used to handling dst projects are a good idea.

Sir is there any interview panel comprised of experts after submitting project? There is an Institute level committee through which the application has to be sent? I think in NPDF a panel interview happens after sending application. I worked as IPDF in IITB for 2 years and want to work under same guide and I would like to apply for DST wise Kiran pdf Or NPDF? How much time they take in the whole procedure?
The dst web site only says that the proposals are accepted throughout the year. There will be a selection committee to peruse the proposals. They do say they prefer is candidates apply for postdoc at places different from ones where they already applied. You could also consider the insight fellow if you have already done postdoc for two years.

It may be a good idea to get the thesis approved and the exam done before applying. The problem is that it can taken a lot of time for the thesis results to come and get concluded

I don’t think break is a problem with this fellowship. You should have PhD and satisfy the age requirements.

Well, in most cases they like to see a different guide as it is expected that you have learnt all you can from my PhD guide while doing the PhD. So working with a new mentor is always a good idea. But if the advisor is an eminent researcher in the area, then some people do their postdoc with him or her also. In that case it may be ok. But consult the guidelines carefully to know if this is allowed.

A PhD or equivalent degree is needed. The problem is that a submitted thesis may take a long time to get accepted. In addition, there is a small but finite probability that the thesis may get rejected. But check with DST for further clarification

It typically takes a few months but depends on the review of the proposal
I had asked one fellow and she informed that she had applied in June 2023 and got called for a presentation online about the project in Feb 2024. Within a month results were published.
I was a DST inspire fellow for pursuing doctoral studies. DST things take time.
