I used to take Sounder back and forth to work once a month for a change of pace (typically a bus rider). I loved it, so relaxing. This video brings back some great memories. Thanks Mike. SR
I used to take this train from the Edmonds station. It is a nice, relaxing way to get to downtown Seattle. You can also take this train on weekends to Mariners and Seahawks games.
Me and my family have been wanting to visit Washington for a while, and I definitely think going to Edmonds will be worth it. And I love those Old Cab Cars with those wonderful K5LAs. I hope to see as many of them leading trains as possible. The New Cab Cars' mere existence is a mistake.
7:2311:23 Sound Transit 903 and 904 were once leased to Virginia Railway Express. The leased Sound Transit locomotives on VRE are numbered V40 and V41 (former Sound Transit 903 and 904).
I live in Everett and have taken the Sounder several times to the stadiums next to King Street Station for Mariners and Seahawks games. A great way to beat the stadium traffic. The entire distance is on former Great Northern trackage. Two former Great Northern depots are on that line, but not shown in this video: Edmonds, now an Amtrak stop and home to a model railroad club, and at Everett, now in use by BNSF. Great scenery along the way. Has to be among the top scenic rail trips in the U.S. and for all of maybe $8.
Very nice. I used to live in Everett and I keep forgetting there is a rail tunnel under the city. Great train though, shame it doesn't do a reverse commute on Friday evening, it would beat driving or a bus by a lot.
It would be nice to see a couple reverse commute trains and weekend service at some point. Maybe after BNSF adds the second track through Edmonds in 2023. Thanks for watching!
I want to get one completed too and I've been working on a few different scripts for them but I've been extremely busy with other projects. Hopefully soon.
To reallj drive the points Home Sounder North Like nevera has 6 or more Cars i'm their trains. Will You specifically do a Train Talk episode on Sounder, it"s history and the figure?
Wow! Looked like it took two days to go from Seattle to Everett, and I'll bet there were at least three people riding in it. Just amazes me when I see these large trains and extended buses go by and you can only see a couple of riders. And oh, lets make it as hard as possible to know where to catch them and where they could take you, and then how much of what kind of payment do you need to have if you do find where to catch one. Then lets not get them really close to the actual destination they want. In the end I know they can't fix it, what a shame.
It’s nice to see the BBL’s leading trains. I agree with superbaddy the CEM cab cars are disgusting in every way. Their appearance is sickening and their horn sounds like a grown man throwing a temper tantrum. I know they’re meant to save lives but why do they have to look and sound so bad?
Excellent shoots as always but I I wonder this time which camera did you use. Picture is very good can you make a description of the gear for those shoots ?
@CoasterFan2105 Hi Mike, apologies but I couldn't comment on the actual Toy Trains Clips, so am writing on this post. My 3 year old is a huge fan of your channel BTW. Just wanted to know where you got the replica wooden toy trains from? Looking to get the little guy some of his own and wasn't too sure which sites were genuine. Greatly appreciate your feedback. Keep the amazing train clips coming!

Thanks Mike. Always fun to see things from the old homestead. The new cabcars look good and the Sounder livery is only surpassed by the Rail Runner.
Fun Fact: Just a few weeks ago there was an old Cab Car leading a South Line set
@A Random JNR Class EF66 and Sound Transit has no plans to retire them either. I do wish they led trains more often though

Sadly you won't hear any train horns in Edmonds if you go there since it has wayside horns now
@@TakingTransit I would still film in Edmonds though. I just would raise my hand and the engineer would blow the horn.

The horns are the standard option because that’s what Canada requires now. Hopefully the new Coaster and ACE cars will have the standard K5LA.
