Showdown Bandit came out way back in 2019. A horror game from the creators of Bendy in the style of puppet shows and westerns mesmerized me from the first frames. Then, after a whole year of teasers and incredible trailers, in full confidence that the creators of the incredible Bendy and the Ink Machine would release a new, one-of-a-kind game, I was shocked when it came out. The whole thing fell apart. The game was nothing of what it had been shown to be. It was just a pathetic shell. And after that, the most bizarre events began. Kindly Beast, now Joey Drew Studios, closed down, laying off all its employees. Bendy and the Dark Revival was postponed, and Showdown Bandit was forgotten about, even despite the announced Death in the Wild extension. Any mention and materials about the game were removed, as well as the game's page in Steam. After 5 years I decided to take another look at the whole story to tell you about probably the most unique lost media, which I managed to be a part of. About how Showdown Bandit was shown, every teaser and trailer. About the game itself, its story and gameplay, to the music and achievements in it. About what happened in Kindly Beast, and why the release is so different from the trailers. About all the cut content that had to be pieced together. Real parallels to the creepy '50s puppet show Howdy Doody. And finally, I'll tell you what's next for Showdown Bandit.
