Hobbyist Welder Online Training ~did it help?

I wanted some welding training. Welding school is out of the question, what about online instruction? I found, purchased and completed One Day Welder (in about a week) so let's see if I learned anything and if my welding is now better than it was before the course. Spoiler alert, IT IS!!!! I still need a lot of practice, but I understand so much more than I did. I have been taught how to practice and also objectively grade my own welds realistically which has really improved my welding. This program may not be for everyone, but it has helped me, and I hope it helps you too if you try it out. Have a great day and be safe!

My Grandpa was a welder. I can stick two pieces of metal together, but I am not a "welder" like he was. I watched him repair a muffler once with a coat hanger and an oxy acetylene torch.

Thanks for watching and your comment. Yep, I have seen the coat hanger and torch trick before too. I have a friend that is a retired certified welder and have seen him weld a cast hub that I wouldn’t have thought could be welded at all. He preheated and then welded it and it was perfect when he was done. Gotta respect the skills of those old guys and try to soak up that knowledge when possible. Have a great day and be safe!

learn to hold your electrode holder with one hand and hold the rod with the other half way down and control the movement of the rod with the hand holding the rod.
