Something tells me snapshot might be looked at by Bungie if it continues to be mandatory for sniper rifles. The weapon class could definitely do with its own handling rework similar to how range was targeted across the board.
I think snapshot should stay the same, and just buff the ads for handling(making snapshot a privilege instead of a necessity)
they’ve already done this, but bungie’s reluctance to put high handling on most snipers makes snapshot still a necessity a majority of the time
Destiny plays like garbage when guns have low handling. It's why Ophidians and Snapshot tend to be such top-tier picks. I honestly think a handling buff across the board (for all weapons) is in order.
@Whimmerson I'm aware they've already don't that but I'm saying they should do like what they did with hand cannons in pve, buffed it once, now buff again(here's to hoping tho)

It’s a seasonal weapon so if it had snapshot it would be competing with (old) Eye of Sol and Defiance of Yasmin. And that’s just the 90rpms. There’s Supremacy for 140s and Silicon Neuroma for the 72s. The philosophy is supposed to be “the harder the activity, the better the weapon.” But then we have to ask why a normal ass Glaive is in trials. Why is Mechabe an event weapon. Why was Beloved a seasonal weapon when Uzume was a nightfall weapon.

The Trials glaive has a better stat package than any other, access to Voltshot, and the ability to 1-shot with certain builds.
Is it the best at everything? No. Greasy Luck (the Dungeon Glaive) has a faster TTK, for instance.
Is it better than most other glaives in the majority of scenarios? Yeah, probably.
They could have put it in the final column to avoid SS + Opening

Try ensemble on it. You need to be within 15m of a teammate, which is a pretty big range, so you will very often habe it procced. It will make the gun feel like it has snapshot quickdraw

You'd sacrifice 10 range, which isn't a terrible trade-off on a Sniper.
Personally though, I'm gonna run it on Warlock with Ophidian Aspect, which grants the same handling buff as Ensemble but intrinsically.
All together it maxes out Range, Handling and Reload Speed, with the same setup as the video.
@@cyber8697 the range isn't what makes keepaway good on snipes, it already has enough to not have aim assist falloff, but keepaway adds accuracy cone aka aim assist

Honestly the gun looks insane without snapshot, and I have really fallen in love with the keepaway, opening shot rolls. In my opinion, this combo feels better than my quickdraw snapshot 1000 yard

Most of these seasonal weapons need 1 perk to be pretty good
So they are good weapons they just don't have good perks? Why does a perk decide a weapon? I think that snapshot should be removed tbh.
@@terrelldurocher3330 perks are like 70% of what makes a gun good, 20% is look and feel, 9% is range, and 1% is the actual stats

@@terrelldurocher3330 it's really easy to tell with slug shotguns, since their hipfire reticles are so big, the ~20% increase is more noticeable
The scope is amazing. It also has the body of the VOG sniper, so its not as bulky. But it should be a given that a sniper that cant hit 70 handling snapshot. Thats my opinion, anyway. I dont think we've had a decently good sniper since Mechabre.
I mean, Supremacy can get up to 93 handling I think with Snapshot Opening Shot. I personally adore it (have done since D1) but I know lots of peeps don’t.

If you're doing Trials, Ensemble can help take it up to 97 handling as long as you're within 15 meters of allies
To be fair that isn't bad since in trails you want to stick to your teammates, the only time you should move away from your team is to flank or prevent a team wipe from cloudstrike.

This is off topic but I must say I love this map for 3v3 modes. The capture points feel like there is good spots and the map has good peaking and cover spots. I never really realized how good this map is for trials in my opinion.

opening shot, discord. Run targeting mods and craft for handling. People sleep on discord on snipers granted it only rolls on 2 and one of them isn't the easiest farm

Me personally I don't care for the super quick ads so this is perfect for me. Which is why on my defiance I had done opening, no distractions.
Seems like they're pivoting away from making seasonal weapons being strong due to the FOMO aspect. Definetly noticed after the Season of the Haunted, seasonal weapons became less desireable.

I lucked out with a 5/5 Mercurial towards the end of last season. Has Fluted, Ricochet, Snapshot, Opening Shot with a Range MW. Has a perfect 80 Range to get to 100 With OS and 82 Handling. I also had the luxury of being able to send a screenshot of it still in my postmaster to someone who had sent me a salty/hateful message via whisper in the match it dropped after. Good times. But, I'm a Lime. What do I know right?
I run surplus on snipers. Just run stasis hunter and ignore the charged melee.
Is there elemental capacitor on it ?
You could still put a sprint grip on it and that could help

The thing is snapshot really isn't as valuable as people make it out to be, people tend to scope in right before the engagement, bungie has specifically said they want snipers to only have the advantage when they shoot first before getting flinched, snapshot only really makes it more of a quickscoping/cod style thing, which really isn't destiny's thing. I know you *like* being able to scope in fast, but very rarely does it actually have an effect on performance

Now what if someone likes to play with sniper rifles - stand still and watch the passage in the scope? What kind of shitty gameplay are you suggesting?
It's like they added the last foray - which is so shitty, like a sniper rifle, that no one on UA-cam, except for a couple of nonames, even bothered to mention it. It's so useless - its only use, and that only in PvP (because there is succession for PvE) - is to hope that you get an elemental capacitor. And that - it forces you to play on a subclass of lightning, severely limiting your gameplay, and even then, if you get a bad roll (and given the rarity of its drop and the number of perks - good luck getting it in principle), then even +50 to handling is not will work well when aiming.
And in general, what's the point of deleting a snapshot? The beloved has it, the object of worship also has it - so why remove it here - what's the point in that?
I have a nice, solid theory why the bungies drive snipers to shit - it's just that one day one of them somehow miraculously entered his own game and one of the good snipers fried him SO much that he got burned and began to promote the policy of repressing snipers.
Seriously, bungo are not friendly with the head - they make OP revolvers, shotguns and fusions, but for snipers to be AT LEAST good... - what the fuck?

Try out speedloader slacks on hunter. Those boots put snapshot and quickdraw on everything.
It's really funny that they released another 90RPM stasis sniper and it once again doesn't have Snapshot at all. Just... Just put it in the same column as Headstone, and the subclass synergy fears are out the window, it's fine, it'll be fine, balance risk solved.

Sprint grip basically gives snapshot and I think is good for high movement gameplay.

@@mooseboi9987idk how often you snipe or what your preferences for your snipers are, but when it comes to snipers the viability of them basically all comes from how they feel to use, and what people prefer their sniper to feel like differs from person to person. If you like your snipers to feel slower then this might not be bad for you, but if you prefer snipers to feel snappy, you probably won’t like it.
So yeah, it missing one perk or being of a slower frame or both could make the gun trash to that person.

What I meant to say was they, as in, any sniper with low-ish handling that doesn’t feel good to use. I haven’t actually used the sniper in this video as of yet so I can’t really say whether or not it feels sluggish. The original point of my comment was basically to clarify whether or not snipers needed snapshot and the answer is to some people, or most people in this case, they do

Snapshot shouldn’t exist exactly for this reason. People will complain when it’s not on every gun that greatly benefits from it. For example: RangeFinder

Then give every sniper a decent boost to their handling stat. There has to be a trade off. There would be much bigger backlash from the community for them simply removing it than if they removed it but tried to compensate.
Also, the reason snapshot isn’t like rangefinder is because snipers are all about how they feel to use rather than damage falloff or ttk values. Therefore, the worse a sniper feels to use regardless of how good it’s other stats are or how cracked its perk pool is, the worse it will perform. All snapshot does is make some snipers feel bearable. It doesn’t give a clear advantage like rangefinder did (extra 2-3 meters of damage falloff range)

Using a targeting mod should just give you snapshot speed for snipers. So dumb that it's a perk because yes it's necessary (besides cloud strike obv)

There should be no aim assist hitbox increase on 1 hit weapons at all. Sniping in this game is not as skillful as most other games because of this.
Its why people hit crazy shots througj flinch. Opening shot is insane.

@@rickiboulter3053no skill was ever needed in d2... actually aim assist been nerfed in the pass, there not a single gun that takes skill to use in destiny 2. And the poor server let shooting pass flinch a common problem It not aim assist it server delay. A sniper flitch is 3 part the scope flitch the bullet line (bullet animation) then the real bullet you cant see.
The game have to register all 3 of them but when the game server been bad or slower there delays in registering the 3 things and the last focus for registering in the actual bullet. So the game register the flitch on the scope and bullet animation but the main bullet went straight

Buuut imma be honest i barely use the nade as well and barricade is like on a 12 sec cooldown so maybe it doesn't work like that

Yes, the rolls are bad. But for some reason this is the best feeling sniper I have played with. I have hit the most shots and a lot are through flinch
