  • This is an extremely clean example of a GMC Typhoon, we call her Black Beauty. The paint is very nice, Tires have 60% tread. Recent motor overhaul and low miles. All electronics work and she sure likes to go! This was the fastest production SUV of its time! Condition is unreal. Take a look at the gallery and our walk around video. Look at the mileage on the dash! It is complimented by set of ZR1 Corvette wheels, and they were meant to be on this 93! LINK BELOW:

I had a 94 gmc Jimmy which was the last year they made this style. Mine was exactly the same minus the ground effects and turbo. I miss that truck. This one is so sick

The best way to stage a Typhoon. Shift to neutral, rev up the rpms while pumping the brakes. Hold brakes, let off throttle, shift to drive. Stand on brake pedal, and slowly increase throttle until you physically can’t hold the truck back anymore. If done correctly, you can actually get the front wheels to spin while youre sitting there waiting to launch. Release the brakes and hold on - cause you already passed the car trying to race you.

Funny story about one of these. A dealership had one of these stolen and used for bank robberies, the police were having trouble catching them, then one day I saw the police chasing the black turbo SUV, they finally caught them. It was crazy, so fast cops couldn't catch them

Use E brake to launch then you won’t loose vacuum to brakes because of turbo

Hmmmmm, is that a 308 Ferrari I see? I think Road & Track tested a GMC Syclone against that car. The GMC beat it in the Road House Zoot category.

The bottom end on those engines were horrible. Notorious for spinning bearings. Mine was on its 3rd engine before my father wrecked it. The Antilock brake system was horrible. If you hit a pothole as you were braking, it would kick it - and suddenly take you an extra 20 feet to stop.

4.6 seconds seams a little suspect. I could've sworn that this thing was running low 5's if not mid 5's from factory which was still better than the Ferrari of the time.... but 4.6 seconds is ferrari 430 territory and that was a vehicle released over a decade later...
    Seams fishy

idk, when you break boost that awd and get a hard launch with that mfr.. I think it'd hit 4.6 all-day long!
