- Hey Guys! After looking all around Tallahassee, these are the best dorms to live on campus at FSU. Overall these are the most popular places around Tallahassee, and have the best ratings (in my opinion hehehe). Very thorough, I liked the metrics you used for ranking. When you're doing the slow pan overs, your cuts will look smoother if the camera is moving in the same direction (match left moving clips with left moving clips). Keep up the great FSU content. :)

Hey! I'm just here to say that I'm living in Wildwood and I love it! It's worth mentioning that it's right next to the Leach Gym and the Health and Wellness Center, as well as the ASLC. If I could, I'd live there again. My top choice would be Ragans because it's basically the same location as Wildwood but it's apartment style and you get your own room. Traditions is pretty much the same, just 2 ppl per apartment instead of 4. Also, not that Ashton is entirely wrong, but imo there's NO WAY you'd get either Ragans or Traditions as a Freshman. Hell, me as a rising sophomore with 62 credits currently ended up in Degraff for next Fall. Ragans and Traditions were completely filled before I even got access to my housing portal. Love you bro but ask almost anyone who went through room selection over the past few weeks and they'll most likely have the same story. It's getting more and more competitive every year because of the increasing admissions rates! Anyways, awesome video as always, I would've eaten this up as an incoming freshman. Overall great vid :)))
Did my freshman year in Landis in '83. Man, that was an amazing era! And Landis was a coed dorm at the time. Good times... good times. Great video, my man. Thanks.

Man, this video really makes me miss freshman year. After that, i havent really been as socially active considering 2 of my friends left after freshman year, and we always hung out at azalea. wildwood is amazing though, very secluded from how fast and loud azalea is, its right next to doak and leach, and its close to the union

My Daughter starts in the fall with a full ride Honors Marketing….her only compromise was in her search for a roommate the one she chose wasn’t in an honors program and had a crap number ….so they will be in Jeannie Murphree instead of Landis but she says that she was told having the public restrooms on all floors was a huge plus….

Jeannie Murphree was the worst dorm many years ago. It had to be refurbished because of electrical problems. Glad it is better. My dad lived in Kellum Hall in the 60’s and was torn down in 2016. Smith was next door and was torn down in 2017.

That's crazy to hear all the dorms that used to be, and how Jenny used to be the worst. They have definitely cleaned it up in the past years!

ahaha, DeGraff is a great dorm and even though it didnt make the list it really is an awesome dorm!
I got Degraff as well! It's not that bad, I've heard good things! It's the same structure as Wildwood/Dorman/Diviney/etc. freshman dorms, so double suites with shared rooms, but the location is great, right next to a lot of resteraunts and very close to landis/strozier library/suwannee/and for me the College of Business, which is my feild of study. Overall not a bad dorm, it just gets a bad rep because it's across tennessee street which makes it feel "off campus" despite being really close to the center of campus.

Hi! If you had your dream pick of room/dorm as a freshman what would you pick? My son got a very low housing contract pick number(under 50) so I think he’ll get his first choice. He’s debating between private room in Ragans or shared room in Azalea. What would you do?

Hi Megan! My son is an incoming freshman and got an under 50 number too! I think he’s leaning towards Regans bc of the single and full kitchen. What did you guys decide?
@@ChristineVonk-zd8zq so it was a HARD decision but I think he’s going to try for Azalea over Ragans. Why? A couple factors. One laundry convenience…I think Ragans does not have laundry in the building which is kinda inconvenient. Two…I think more freshman opportunities to get to know more people in Azalea verses the apartment building. Three…convenience of late night food Azalea has food options right on the building he’d only have to put on slippers and go downstairs if he wants food or coffee etc.
@@ChristineVonk-zd8zq also we’re still going to try for a private room in azalea but not sure that will happen. My understanding is that there are private rooms in azalea but most if not all of the few privates that they have go to kids with accommodations. So I do think my son will end up in a shared room in Azalea but with private bathroom(so he and roommate will have to share a bathroom) but at least they won’t have to share with 4 boys. My son hasn’t selected a roommate yet though if he doesn’t get a private(hard to find kids with a number under 50) so right now it’ll be random
@@ChristineVonk-zd8zq oh and last reason azalea over Ragans is location. I think it may be a better overall location for classes and socializing with kids in other dorms. I don’t know if we may right decision but I keep telling myself to trust the process and things will work out they way they’re supposed to work out.

I believe that they take you through dorms on tours, but if you want to see a specific one, I would def reach out to admissions and/or housing!

Personally I would go Azalea/Mag, Dorman/Deviney, Landis, but its all based on what you prefer!

Hey ima newly admitted freshman and got number 140 on my housing contract and my buddy got 369. What’s the best dorm that I can grab, what room? And if I room up with my buddy is it still possible to get that dorm and room?
140 and 369 are really good. Website shows each dorm houses about 300 people, so you should have pretty good luck getting the room.
